Chvrches have released the title track ‘Death Stranding’ ahead of the release of ‘Death Stranding: Timefall‘. Directed by Hideo Kojima and published by Sony, the game also features music from Major Lazer & Khalid, Au/Ra x Alan Walker, The Neighbourhood, Flora Cash, MISSIO, The S.L.P and Bring Me The Horizon. Chvrches are responsible for the titular track lifted from the album, officially named Death Stranding: Timefall (Original Music from the World of Death Stranding).

The Glaswegian band said of their involvement in the upcoming game which features The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen. “We were really excited about the opportunity to work with Kojima because we have been fans of his work for a long time,”

“He has always been such a visionary in the gaming world and we were honoured to be involved in the project. The concept of ‘Death Stranding’ is so unique and really felt to us like it was challenging people to care about the world they create — in the game and otherwise. We wrote this song specifically for ‘Death Stranding’, thinking of the themes of the game and what it is trying to say to people.”

The new track can be heard through the band’s Twitter post.

Thrilled to share some brand new music with you. Death Stranding is our latest track and will feature on the Death Stranding game, plus the Timefall album (Original Music from the world of Death Stranding) this autumn.
“In these times, it would be surprising to find the band looking inward, and ‘Love Is Dead’ manages to balance hopeful, utopian pop with a darker, gloomier undercurrent. Love may not be dead after all, but if you ask CHVRCHES, the onus is on all of us to try and keep it alive.”
