One of the biggest surprises in today’s announcement is the addition of Limp Bizkit, the legendary rap-rock band known for hits like ‘Break Stuff‘ and ‘Rollin’. The band, led by frontman Fred Durst, has been making a resurgence in recent years, and their inclusion in the lineup is sure to draw a massive crowd especially paired alongside Bring Me The Horizon. Known for their high-energy performances and mosh-pit-inducing anthems, Limp Bizkit’s set is bound to be a highlight of the weekend 10 years on from their last performance at the festival.

UK rap duo D-Block Europe is also joining the lineup, adding a strong hip-hop presence to the festival. The duo, consisting of Young Adz and Dirtbike LB, has gained a massive following with their unique rap style and chart-topping hits like ‘Overseas’ and ‘Darling’ featuring Central Cee. Their set is expected to be a major draw, especially for fans of UK drill and Afroswing-infused rap.

Festival icon Example returns to Reading and Leeds, bringing his signature mix of electronic and rap hits. With classics like ‘Kickstarts’ and ‘Changed the Way You Kiss Me’, Example has been a festival favourite for years and is always successful at getting the crowd to go insane.

Additionally, Bakar, Nemzzz, and Jazzy have been added to the lineup, further enriching the festival’s diverse music offering. Bakar, known for his genre-blending sound that fuses indie rock with hip-hop, has gained a loyal following with tracks like ‘Hell N Back’. Nemzzz continues to rise in the UK rap scene with his smooth flow and viral tracks like ‘Escape‘. Meanwhile, Irish DJ and singer Jazzy brings an different electronic and dance element to the festival, with her hit ‘Giving Me ‘expected to bring energy to the festival.

These new additions compliment an already stacked lineup featuring Travis Scott, Hozier, Bring Me The Horizon, Chappell Roan, AJ Tracey, Becky Hill, among many others. With such a diverse range of artists spanning rap, rock, indie, and electronic music, Reading and Leeds 2025 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting editions of the festival in years.

The Rap Game UK has just returned to our screens in search for the next big British MC. The last three series have received acclaim from national and specialist press outlets. This is the fourth series of the acclaimed and BAFTA-nominated show – and this time around, it’s bigger than ever. The show is a BBC remake of the American reality TV series, co-produced by Jermaine Dupri and Queen Latifah. The UK show is run by rap duo Krept and Konan and 1Xtra’s DJ Target, who are on the hunt to find the UK’s best unsigned rapper from a group of six talented artists who are competing for the prize of a lifetime. This year they have revealed a twist that not every contestant will make it to the final.

The show has been produced by Fremantle label, Naked and distributed by A+E networks. Speaking on the release of the new series, BBC Commissioning Editor Patrick McMahon says: “I’m thrilled to welcome Krept, Konan and DJ Target back for a new series of the Rap Game UK. With epic new challenges, gripping new format twists, and some of the most talented artists we’ve ever had competing for that crown, this year’s contest looks set to be the biggest, best and toughest yet.” Naked Creative Director Tom O’Brien added, “It’s great to be bringing The Rap Game back again. With new showrunners (Trent Williams Jones and Steve Earley), a new cast and new even higher stakes, Naked can’t wait to see who will be the new winner.”

In 2021, The Rap Game UK was most nominated for two Broadcast Digital Awards, being the Best Entertainment Programme and Best Popular Factual Programme. That year it was also nominated in the Formatted Popular Factual category in the 2021 RTS Programme Awards. The show was also nominated for a BAFTA Award back in 2020.

This years up and comings MCs taking part include, T Big Jest and JClarke, P3Lz, Mayo, Mwangi and Zoellz. The six contestants have travelled to Manchester to compete in a series of challenges aimed at showcasing their individual musical, lyrical and performance abilities. The six MCs will undertake challenges across the series whilst being guest mentored by some of the biggest names in the UK scene – and this year this includes Unknown T, Shaybo, BackRoad Gee, Leomie Anderson, D-Block Europe, Lethal Bizzle, Jaykae, and more. The winner will gain a £20,000 cash prize, as well as a mentorship scheme to help them create and launch their own music after the contest ends.

A teaser for the opening episode of the new series that came out last Thursday shares, “DJ Target and Krept & Konan return to Manchester to search for the next big rap star. Six aspiring rappers discover that winning this series will be tougher than ever, with a twist revealed that none of them expect.

UK hip-hop collective D-Block Europe announce new album Home Alone 2, due to be released on the 19th of November. The group posted the album artwork and feature list for the new project in a post on Twitter, along with a link to pre-order.

The feature list is impressive; featuring Offset, Wretch 32, M Huncho, Central Cee, Tion Wayne, and AJ Tracey, among others. While it is certainly impressive to feature two of Drill’s biggest artists (Tion Wayne and Central Cee), the greatest feat is having Offset from Migos on their feature list. Broadening international appeal is a goal for artists in Drill, with Headie One featuring with Drake last year on ‘Only You Freestyle’. While massive UK artists like Skepta have found themselves featuring on American tracks, having American artist feature on UK tracks is indictive of a changing tide; UK music is ammassing greater prestige and recognition across the pond.

D-Block Europe have had an active 2021. They made headlines earlier in the year when Aitch made a suprise visit on stage with DBE during Parklife, as well as dropping a new single in the summer, ‘Lake 29′. The track, a celebration of DBE member Young Adz’s 26th birthday, was their first single after their debut LP released last October, The Blue Print – Us vs. Them. The project had a similarly impressive feature list, with Aitch and Stefflon Don contributing verses. The album peaked at No.2 in the charts, and with the upcoming project having a more impressive feature list, it is likely The Blue Print‘s success will be matched if not superseded.

Alongside the announcement of Home Alone 2, they simultaneously dropped a new single, ‘No Competition’, complete with a music video. At the time of writing, the video has amassed a quarter of a million views within 20 hours. The track, two minutes in length, serves as a little teaser for their highly anticipated new album.

The Plug Records recruit D Block Europe and Migos’ Offset for their single ‘Rich’ off the Plug Talk album. The woodwind-led instrumental and jumpy 808s make this track a certified head-banger, with the video setting off that summer vibe.

Offset kicks off the track with his unique flow and trademark adlibs with the boastful and lustful theme being conveyed throughout the track. Young Adz and Dirtbike LB use their melodic flows to speak on their life of luxury, women and knowledge of the drug game, “Whippin’ in the kitchen like it’s porridge and ima eat that p***y I ain’t boring.”

Directed by Jay Parpworth on behalf of GRM Daily, this video sees the three rappers take on a Muppets-inspired look as they perform amongst booty shaking, bikini-clad women at a pool party. Being portrayed as loveable children’s characters doesn’t stop them engaging in explicit acts with their human counterparts either, with underwear being seen thrown throughout.

Details haven’t been missed when creating their characters; from their tattoos to their jewellery to the designer clothes all aspects have been taken into account, making it a creative way to produce a video in the absence of the artists.

You can watch the video for ‘Rich’ below:
