CVC, which stands for Church Village Collective, are a six piece from Church Village, near Pontypridd in South Wales. The group is made up of Francesco Orsi, Dave Bassey, Elliot Bradfield, Daniel Jones, Ben Thorne and Tom Fry. They have built a loyal following through energetic live shows and a sound that mixes pop, funk, synths and strong group harmonies.

‘Silver Blues’ will be familiar to people who have seen the band on stage from intimate shows to festival appearances. It has been part of their live set for some time, and reviewers have noted it as a lively opener at past shows. The studio release gives fans a chance to hear it properly for the first time, taking in the sound and lyrics in their own time.

The band first came to wider attention with their debut album, ‘Get Real’, which came out in 2023 and was nominated for the Welsh Music Prize. Since then they have played major festivals, supported Foo Fighters at Austin City Limits and toured the United Kingdom several times. This year they also played Green Man Festival in Wales, enjoying their hometown’s company.

The winter tour begins in December and includes the following dates:

December 3rd: Leeds, Archive
December 4th: Glasgow, King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut
December 10th: Nottingham, Rough Trade
December 11th: London, The Social

The London show at The Social has already sold out. A pre sale for the rest of the tour opened on October 7th for fans who signed up to the band’s mailing list, and general sale tickets were available from the this morning (the 9th) at 10am. Fans who want to join the mailing list can find the sign up link on the band’s official page here!

The new tour continues the group’s pattern of playing mid sized and intimate venues, where their live energy is most noticeable. Past runs have included stops in Glasgow, Newcastle, Sheffield, Manchester, Cardiff and Bristol, and they have regularly sold out hometown shows in Wales.

Fans can stream ‘Silver Blues’ on all major platforms. Anyone planning to see the band this winter should check the official CVC channels for ticket links and any extra dates, such as their Instagram here.
