The ‘Strobe’ producer was slated for Cork’s Live at the Marquee series (June 19) and O2 Academy Brixton on June 26. Deadmau5 is now due to play the Brixton Academy next year on June 10, 2021, before traveling to Cork for June 18. Tickets previously purchased will remain valid for 2021.

The producer, real name Joel Zimmerman, is known for a string of hits, including ‘Strobe’, ‘Ghosts N’ Stuff’, and ‘Monophobia’, released a video onto Twitter in the build-up to his London show. The Brixton gig is only one of two shows in the UK that the ‘Random Album Title’ producer has confirmed for 2020.

Deadmau5 is further due to play at Creamfields 2020 in August. He will be headlining alongside Calvin Harris and the reformed Swedish House Mafia. The event includes what they call “the world’s biggest electronic festival line-up”.

Undoubtedly, it’s going to be a big year for electronic dance music. Creamfields runs from August 22-25, held at the Daresbury Estate in Cheshire. Zimmerman is scheduled for Friday, (August 23), with Harris on the night after, and to conclude proceedings, Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso, (Swedish House Mafia), on August 25.

It can’t get much better than that. But it does. Fatboy Slim, Martin Garrix, Shy FX, Headhunterz, Duke Damont and Benny Benassi are among those also billed to hit the stage.

Deadmau5’s last studio album, ‘W:/2016Album/’, was released back in 2016. Two years later, he released an orchestral compilation album, ‘Where’s The Drop?’. Last year, he scored the Netflix film Polar.

Last year, Deadmau5 was banned from Twitch for homophobic language. He criticized the video game streaming platform for what he deemed “double standards”. While playing PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, Zimmerman called another player a f****t. The player had killed him during the game, which led to the remark.

He since clarified that he does not blame Twitch for banning him. On Reddit, he said: “I know what the fuck I said and why I said it and in what contextual universe it belonged in,”

“I just don’t agree with their policy on who gets to decide whats freedom of expression and whats blatant extreme right wing crazy shit that’s actually harmful. Coz whats the difference I guess.”
