The dance festival, located in Daresbury (near Liverpool and Manchester) has been running since 1998 with world-class dance artists from around the world. This year is no different, with sets from David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, Duke Dumont, Interplanetary Criminal and many more.

This year will see the festival with 2 new stages (Electric Forest and HALO) plus the return of the Teletech Arena. That brings the number of major stages for this year’s festival up to 8, with a total of 30 stages across the entire festival. As well as more stages, Creamfields will debut their new area ‘Downtown’. This is their new entertainment village, including sports and wellness activities to refresh after visiting the stages. This includes football, basketball, mini-golf, bingo and karaoke. Theatre performances and quizzes will also feature at this new area. For the disciplined, the area will also include a fitness centre and a new ‘Culinary Quarter’, filled with healthy options. Creamfields are also introducing their new wellness centre ‘Freshfields’, including a spa, ice-bath, ‘pamper tent’ and hot showers, perfect for a 4 day festival.

Creamfields began as the world-famous Cream nightclub, based in Liverpool. Alongside the Hacienda in Manchester and the Ministry of Sound in London, Cream was a focal point of the 90’s rave scene, launching the careers of DJ’s such as Paul Oakenfeld, Carl Cox and Paul van Dyk. The club launched the first Creamfields festival in 1998 as a one-day festival and instantly became a hit with its lineup. Sadly, Cream closed it’s doors for the final time in 2002 but it’s legacy lives on with Creamfields, now in its 27th year strong.

‘Electric Forest’ is one of the new stages revealed this year. This stage is nestled within the forest (reminiscent of Boomtown) and will provide an intimate space surrounded by nature. This stage will feature sets from the likes of Eats Everything, JWAVE and special guest East End Dubs.

HALO, the other new stage, is an evolution of the Runway stage and provides an immersive, 360° experience. This stage shows the ambition that Creamfields have approached their 2025 festival with. The stage was created by renowned stage and show design studio ‘Lucid Creates’. In an interview with Creamfields, Chris Carr from Lucid states “Creamfields has never underestimated the importance of pushing boundaries with high-end production, keeping their dedicated audience excited and engaged with numerous site upgrades, as well as new arenas and stages year on year. We’re incredibly grateful to be given the space and the opportunity to create such ambitious structures and shows like RUNWAY and now HALO with Creamfields. It’s not an easy thing to pull off, but creating these groundbreaking experiences really is what drives us all”. This stage will feature sets from Jamie Jones, Patrick Topping, Four Tet and others.

Creamfields runs from Thursday, August 21 – Sunday, August 24 2025, tickets are available here.

Swedish House Mafia have a long history with Creamfields, being part of its Cream club nights in the early 2000’s, and they played their first set at the festival in 2007. The last time they played at Creamfields was in 2023, playing the same Arc Stage they’ll be returning to this year.

Their 2019 set was deemed an iconic highlight, and especially memorable after the group caused £4 million worth of damage when dropping their Knife Party collaboration, ‘Antidote’. The amount of pyrotechnics used permanently damaged the stage’s LED screens.

American DJ Anyma was announced as the first headliner last month, set to close out the festival on the Sunday night (August 24).

Other acts confirmed on the Creamfields lineup include David Guetta, Chase & Status, Boris Brejcha, Eric Prydz, Sarah Landry, Fisher, Hardwell, Amelie Lens, Dom Dolla, Hannah Laing, Camelphat, Ewan McVicar, Jamie Jones, Duke Dumont, Patrick Topping, Eats Everything, Fatboy Slim, Josh Baker, Andy C, Gaskin, HorsegiirL, Sonny Fodera, Franky Wah, AZYR, Ben Hemsley, Ben Nicky, Martin Garrix, and Gorgon City. More acts will be announced soon.

This year’s festival will be a first for some fresh features – a new stage has been added, a 360° Halo “mega stage”. This new stage will be “a monumental 45 metre, diameter, cyclical outdoor arena with pioneering 360 and overhead video, lighting and sound”.

New areas/zones will also be introduced this year. One of these is ‘Downtown’, a sports, wellness and entertainment village which will give festivalgoers an opportunity to exercise and wind down with activities like five-a-side football, basketball, mini golf and rave karaoke.

Another area to be added will be ‘Freshfields’, described as an “on-site retreat offering premium facilities”. The wellness luxuries here will include saunas, hot tubs, both hot and ice-cold showers and proper bathrooms.

Creamfields 2025 will take place during the August Bank Holiday Weekend from August 21-24 in Daresbury, Cheshire. You can find tickets and more information on the official Creamfields website.

Swedish House Mafia have announced they’ll be returning to Creamfields for its 2023 edition. During the Birmingham show of their Paradise Again world tour last week (October 8), the Swedish house super group revealed they’ll be headlining the festival next year on Sunday 27th of August by displaying their three dot logo alongside ‘Creamfields 2023’ on screens in the arena.

The announcement has now been followed by an official confirmation tweet by Creamfields which read: “Just Announced! @swedishousemfia confirmed for a SOLD OUT Creamfields North 2023, Sunday 27th August. #CreamfieldsNorth #Creamfields2023.” You can view the full post below.

The full line-up for 2023 Creamfields North is yet to be announced but the event is scheduled to take place in Daresbury, Cheshire between 24-27 August next year. Tickets are already completely sold out, making it the fastest-selling Creamfields on record. Swedish House Mafia’s return to Creamfields comes after their last performance at the festival in 2019.

The producer trio have remained busy since then and earlier this year they released their debut album Paradise Again featuring guest appearances from A$AP Rocky, Sting and many more. They are currently on the European leg of their world tour in support of the LP. During their San Fransisco show last month, Swedish House Mafia also previewed a new Alicia Keys-assisted single titled ‘Finally’ which is yet to be released. The track is actually a cover of the Kings of Tomorrow song of the same name, which featured the singer Julie McKnight.

Creamfields originally started in Cheshire in 1998 and is one of the most popular and well renowned open-air electronic music festivals in the world. The festival had a very successful sell out this year, which marked their 25-year celebrations and continues to deliver world class line ups and next level production, with a continuous growing loyal following and is set to be Swedish House Mafia’s biggest apperance yet. Tickets for the festival went on sale on September 29 and are available for purchase here and as previously stated while the full line-up is yet to be announced you can keep up to date over the Creamfields website.

Established in Liverpool in 1998, Creamfields was one of the first large scale British music festivals dedicated to dance music. Since its conception, Creamfields has been famed for enlisting the cream of the crop from the electronic dance music world.

Over the past twenty two years, Creamfields has evolved from a one-day event with 25,000 attendees to a tremendous four-day experience with a whopping 70,000 attendees. On 13th May 2020 festival-goers were heartbroken when Creamfields official website cancelled their 2020 installment, saying: “We have been closely monitoring the global situation and it has become clear that it’s simply not possible for this year’s addition to go ahead”.

Nevertheless, Creamfields recent confirmation of their 2021 return has given festival-goers everywhere something else to look forward to.

It is another day, another cancelled event. This time, EDM festival Creamfields has announced the postponement of its 2020 edition to next year due to, obviously, the outbreak of COVID-19. Originally, the festival was set to take place during August 27 to 29, at Daresbury, Cheshire. However, the organisers revealed that they would return on August Bank Holiday, expanding from August 26 to 29, next year.

The festival released a statement regarding the postponement on Twitter: “We have been closely monitoring the global situation and it has become clear that it’s simply not possible for this year’s edition to go ahead.”

Creamfields thanked those who supported them and promised to “be back stronger than ever” next year. Read the full statement from the post below.

There are two options for those who already purchased tickets for this year’s edition. First, they can retain their tickets for the returning dates next year. In the meantime, the second option is to claim a refund. All of the information can be seen in the tweet above, or visit Creamfields’ official site for more details.

There is also good news for those who wish to keep their tickets for the 2021 edition. The festival offers up to £60 in vouchers for drinks, food, and merches that they can spend at the event.

This year, Creamfields booked plenty of exciting EDM acts to perform at the festival. The Chainsmokers, Jonas Blue, Deadmau5, Gorgon City, and Calvin Harris were the leading names to appear.

To keep the hype going, they have unveiled artists who will perform on the new dates next year. Adam Beyer, Ben Nicky, Carlcox, Deadmau5, and Martin Garrix appear on 2021’s line-up. Dutch DJ Tiësto, who just had his latest album ‘The London Session‘ come out last week, is also set to perform at the festival.
