The band will play Glasgow and London respectively and will perform their album Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume Two: No World for Tomorrow in its entirety. They will also be including a mix of songs from their most recent effort, Vaxis-Act II: A Window of the Waking Mind which the band released last year.

This news will come as quite a relief to UK fans of the band, owing to the fact that Coheed and Cambria were forced to cancel two festival dates as well as four shows in Europe-the band citing personal reasons for the cancellations. The band however, will still be performing at Download Festival in Derby and the two UK dates.

The band are currently touring the United States, before heading to the UK for Download this weekend

Released in 2007, Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume Two: No World for Tomorrow was Coheed and Cambria’s fourth studio album and a direct sequel to Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness. Both of these records represented a narrative that was a part of a larger story called The Amory Wars.

The fourth and final concept album, was a massive success for the band, debuting at number 6 on the Billboard charts and leading to a world wide tour as well as numerous headlining shows in both the US and Europe. The album is perhaps also notable for being the only Coheed and Cambria record to feature Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters fame, on drums.

Formed in 1995 in New York, Coheed and Cambria made a name for themselves within the burgeoning post hardcore and emo scenes. The band is has been able to carve a unique niche for themselves, with all of their albums (except one) thus far representing a concept body of work. The albums are based off of a science fiction narrative, written by big-haired guitarist and vocalist Claudio Sanchez. Seeking to further delve into the world that he created, Sanchez has also released The Amory Wars as a comic series and novel.

In addition to the band’s busy schedule, guitarist Travis Stever is one of five members that make up the supergroup LS Dunes. Forming during the pandemic, the band have released one album, touring the UK back in January.

The tour will commence in the UK, with a date at Bristol’s O2 Academy on Friday 14^th of October, and will conclude on Sunday the 30^th of October at Carlswerk in Cologne, Germany.

The tour is in support of Coheed and Cambria’s forthcoming album Vaxis II: A Window of the Waking Mind, which will be released via Roadrunner Records on June 24^th. Presently, the group has released four singles from the album thus far; “Shoulders”, “Rise, Naianasha (Cut The Cord)”, “The Liars Club” and “Comatose”. You can check out “Shoulders” below, and the album can be found on all streaming services.

Co-headliner Thrice put out their eleventh full-length studio album Horizons/East last September through Epitaph Records. You can check out the single “Scavengers” alongside a music video down below. Despite their album output now reaching double figures, Horizons/East was received warmly, with Kerrang! saying; “For Thrice fans, Horizons/East is another strident step forward from one of post-hardcore’s definitive outfits. For listeners at one of life’s soul-stretching crossroads, though, it could serve as so much more…”

The band is also set to appear on the exciting lineup for this year’s 2000trees Festival in Cheltenham. You can read more about this here.

Opening band Touché Amoré are also more than deserving of your love if you’re not familiar with them quite yet. Hailing from Los Angeles, California, the group have been playing emotionally charged, heart-wrenching post-hardcore for well over a decade now, with their last two albums Stage Four and Lament being clear evidence of the fact that they don’t intend to slow down anytime soon. Lament was released just last year, and is a powerful, heart-breaking document of a man reflecting on the grief of losing his mother. You can listen to the album on all streaming services.
