Coco and the Butterfields have released their latest single, ‘Puppets’, which is the second track to be release ahead of their forthcoming EP, ‘Monsters’. Following the release of, ‘Animals’, back in January, the revealed that their upcoming EP, ‘Monsters’, is scheduled to be released this Spring.

Speaking about the track, ‘Puppets’, singer Tom Twyman, said: “Puppets was the last track we chose to put on our new EP.When we played it live we were overwhelmed with the reception it had with our fans especially as its lyrical content is close to our hearts; it has a very personal theme for us and we love the massive drum and group vocal combination used in the production. We are excited to release this newly recorded version.”

The band consists of frontmen Tom Twyman and Dulcima Showan, Rob Wicks – on guitar, James Hicks – on percussion, Jamie Smith – on keyboard, and Patrick Channon – on bass. Speaking about their forthcoming EP, ‘Monsters’, Dulcima, said: “‘Monsters is the best we’ve ever sounded,” with Twyman continuing: “This is the first set of songs that I would say represents who we are as a band. Before, a disc was more like a memento of a gig. This is more who we are as people.”

The band have also revealed that they will be performing shows throughout the summer, including two headline shows, in Cambridge and Margate, in April 2019, along with a number of festival appearances. This year looks set to be a busy year for the band, with them scheduled to perform a number of live dates throughout 2019, including their own UK headline tour, which is scheduled to start, in October 2019.

Before heading to Oxford, Nottingham, Birmingham, Southampton, Brighton, Honiton, Norwich, Sheffield, Manchester, Glasgow, Cardiff, and Bristol, with a concluding show, in Plymouth, on the 3rd of November 2019.

The release of the bands latest single, ‘Puppets’, comes after the band supported, Blue October, in February, on their nationwide tour. The band have garnered a name for themselves on the live scene, with previous performances at a number of the big festival such as Glastonbury, Isle Of Wight and Bestival. The band have also been the supporting act for some of today’s biggest names including Bastille.

The release comes ahead of a seven-date support tour, with Blue October and a slew of headline dates, in October. The band will kick start their 14-date headline tour, in London, on the 3rd of October 2019, culminating in Plymouth, on the 3rd of November 2019.

The single is the first to be taken from the band’s upcoming EP, ‘Monsters’, which was previously released as an acoustic collection of tracks. Speaking about the release of new music, singer Tom Twyman said: “2019 has got off to such an amazing start! We’re more eager than ever to show everyone everything that we’ve been working on behind the scenes. We’ve got brand new music coming, our first ever major venue support tour and a slot at the UK Americana’s with a headline tour later in the year and another release! It’s looking like our most exciting year yet.”
