The track first appeared on Liam’s third solo studio album, C’mon You Know. On working on the track, Premier said “I have always been a huge fan of remixing songs,” “To get an opportunity to make one over Liam’s incredible vocal sound and style guided me to making it bounce high like a rubber ball filled with too much air.”

The latest EP also features the former Oasis frontman’s take on John Lennon’s ‘Bless You’. This will be its digital debut having been initially released on the vinyl deluxe edition of the album and becoming a fan favourite. The vinyl edition of the album sold nearly 33,000 vinyl copies and according to Official Charts, as of the 14th of July, it was the second highest selling vinyl of the year behind Harry Styles’ critically acclaimed album Harry’s House.

C’mon You Know was released in May of 2022 and went straight to number one after its release having sold 70,000 copies within the first week. It was also named one of The Best Albums of 2022 (so far) by NME. Fatherly.com noted that “every single one of Liam’s new songs sounds better than any of the songs from his wildman Oasis days. On this album, Liam’s voice is more polished, unique, hardcore, and interesting than it’s ever been. Sonically and aesthetically, his vocal performance is way cooler now than it was in the ‘90s.”

Following the release, he went on to play two shows at Knebworth Park and all 170,000 tickets sold out within minutes, mirroring the success Oasis had in 1996. The singer now has slows booked in France, Belgium, North America and Spain with a special performance at Wembley Stadium on September 3rd to celebrate Foo Fighter’s late drummer, Taylor Hawkins.

Between his work as Oasis frontman and his solo career, Gallagher has hit the number one spot on the UK Official Album Chart a total of twelve times. He was voted the greatest frontman of all time in a reader poll by Q magazine in March 2010, and in 2019 he was awarded Rock Icon at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

Beloved Manchester singer-songwriter Liam Gallagher broadcasted a tribute to Hawkins via his Twitter, saying: “Absolutely devastated to hear the sad news about Taylor Hawkins my thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends RIP brother LG x”. Gallagher also dedicated the final song of his set at his Teenage Cancer Trust show at London’s Royal Albert Hall to Hawkins; a performance of the classic Oasis tune “Live Forever” from 1994’s Definitely Maybe. Hawkins’ name was printed on the drum kit of Gallagher’s band, and during the performance of “Live Forever”, featured a projector image of the late drummer at the back of the stage. During the evening, Gallagher also performed the as-yet-unreleased title track from his forthcoming third solo record C’MON YOU KNOW, which will be released on May 27^th. Gallagher has presently shared one single from the album entitled “Everything’s Electric”, which was co-written with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl. As mentioned previously, Gallagher is only one of many acclaimed musicians who have shared warm sentiments and tributes regarding the late Taylor Hawkins. Other such musicians who have come forward to speak about the drummer in the short time the news has been public include Sam Fender, Beatles drummer Ringo Starr, Ozzy Osbourne, acclaimed bluesman John Mayer, Brian May of Queen and Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine.

Hawkins was fifty years of age at the time of his passing, and his titanic influence on rock music cannot be understated, having toured with Alanis Morrissette in the mid-1990s before officially joining the Foo Fighters on March 18^th 1997, three years after the formation of the beloved group.

“Everything’s Electric”, which was co-written with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl (who can be heard playing drums on the track), was released on February 4^th, and provides quite an introduction to the sound of Gallagher’s upcoming solo album. The song is raucous and energetic, and if the singer’s BRITs performance is anything to go by, it’s a tune that’s absolutely made to blow the roof off of a stadium. It wastes no time introducing itself, commencing with a gritty guitar riff that is then carried on the shoulders of a swaggering drumbeat, making for a very Rolling Stones-esque vibe. Over the top of the buzzing instrumental, Gallagher’s familiar voice soars as he sings; “It’s hard to take it easy, underneath the red sun, everything’s electric”. The song has been largely well-received by both fans and critics, with NME awarding it a glowing five star rating.

C’MON YOU KNOW will be the singer’s third album, following on from 2019’s Why Me? Why Not. And 2017’s As You Were. Physical copies of the album will also be available for pre-order on top of the digital release, including CD, vinyl and cassette tape, in addition to some bundles, which feature a 20-page hardcover book and an art print of the C’MON YOU KNOW cover, which depicts Gallagher surrounded by a crowd of fans.

Later this year, Gallagher will be playing two sold out shows at Knebworth, where Oasis famously performed on the 9^th and 10^th of August 1996, to around 250,000 people. The singer is slated to perform on June 3^rd and 4^th, and will be supported by Kasabian, Michael Kiwanuka, Fat White Family and Goat Girl. Gallagher announced the forthcoming single release today (January 20^th) via his Twitter, following a tweet the previous day where he teased a big reveal; “Big announcement tmoz and I mean BIG bigger than my nose bigger than rkids rite said Fred fucking massive so stay tuned LG x”.

This is not the only song that Gallagher has announced from his upcoming album, as he has also stated that he will be releasing a tune called “I Wish I Had More Power” dedicated to his brother and former Oasis bandmate Noel Gallagher. The two are famously (or infamously) estranged, with Liam Gallagher occasionally taking digs at his brother via Twitter, such as replying “Miserable arse cheer up you billionaire” to a tweet concerning a song from Noel Gallagher’s upcoming record. 

Gallagher’s next album C’MON YOU KNOW will be released on May 27^th of this year, preceding a run of UK shows in June. The Oasis singer-songwriter has released the artwork for the record, which depicts him amidst a crowd of fans at one of his shows. You can view the artwork down below.

The run of shows in the UK will kick off at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on the 1^st of June. Gallagher will also be performing at Hampden Park National Stadium in Glasgow, Ormeau Park in Belfast, and perhaps most importantly, he will be putting on two shows at Knebworth Park in Stevenage, where Oasis famously played in 1996. Gallagher announced that he would be playing at Knebworth back in October of last year, saying in a tweet; “I’m absolutely buzzing to announce that on 4th June 2022 I’ll be playing Knebworth. It’s gonna be biblical. C’mon You Know. LG x”. At Knebworth, Gallagher will be supported by Kasabian, Michael Kiwanuka, Fat White Family and Goat Girl.

Gallagher’s upcoming performance in June 2002 will be his biggest solo show up to date. The gig will follow the release of his new album  C’mon You Know due May 2022. The album might get his fourth number one album after scoring the top spot with his previous ones: As You Were in 2017, Why Me Why Not in 2019 and MTV Unplugged live sessions in 2020.

Speaking with Chris Moyles on Radio X this morning, the musician said that one of the songs on his new album is dedicated to his brother Noel. “The next single is gonna be called ‘Better Days’ and it’s full of sunshine. And then there’s another one, ‘I Wish I Had More Power’, and it’s dedicated to Noel. Yeah, it’s a naughty little tune, but it’s lovely“. 

Asked about his return to now Knebworth stage, he commented: “This is history part two, mate. I am excited. I mean, I’ve done it before and it was mega“. 

“And the beautiful thing about it is – obviously I can’t remember much of it – but I get the chance to do it again. Obviously I’m older and a little bit more wiser, and I’m going to milk it, you know what I mean? I’m going to really take it in. I’m buzzing, man” he added. “It’s like I said: it’s now or never, know what I mean? If I don’t do it now, I’ll never do it”.

 “We’ve had a terrible couple of years, everyone and all that. I’ve got a new album coming out and I’m just gonna try and pull it off, you know what I mean? I feel I can deliver it on me own, obviously with the band and that. I just think it’s gonna go off, mate’ he continued. 

August this year marked the 25th anniversary of the Oasis Knebworth gig. The memories of that show were released as a documentary last month and Liam Gallager called it “the Woodstock of the 90’s“ with Noel adding “I can’t believe we never played ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Star!’.
