The video is titled ‘The Promise’ and was filmed before the singer died. The late Soundgarden singer is shown in the video singing against a backdrop of different refugees from around the world.

Cornell and his family toured refugee camps in Greece in April, leading them to the decision that The Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation would focus on helping refugees.

The singer was found dead in a hotel bathroom in Detroit last month, hours after Soundgarden, who were currently touring at the time, played a show in the city.

Meanwhile, Chris Cornell is also set to appear on Johnny Cash’s upcoming album, which is a version of his poetry book ‘Forever Words: The Unknown Poems’. The never before seen poems were found after Cash died in 2003, with some of the poems dating back to as early as 1944.

Country singer Brad Paisley set one of Cash’s poems to music and that is where the idea for the album sparked. The project was started by Cash’ son, John Carter Cash, who told the New York Times that “I want people to have a deeper understanding of my father than just the iconic, cool man in black. I think this book will help provide that.” Pitchfork reports that Paisley will feature on the album alongside Cornell, as well as Jewel, T-Bone Burnett, and Kacey Musgraves.
