Along with its longstanding top placement “As It Was” has remained the UK’s most streamed track, racking up over 6.8 million streams.

The chart-topping track was released on 1st April 2022 and is the lead single from Styles’ third solo album Harry’s House. The single’s long running chart success began soon after its release, debuting as the UK’s number one single. The track was co-written by Styles and the release’s producers Kid Harpoon and Tyler Johnson, American producer and engineer Johnson worked with Styles on his debut self-titled solo album. Styles’ recently released track is the singer’s second song to place at number one, in 2017 the singer scored his first number one single with “Sign Of The Times”.

Elsewhere within the charts, “First Class” by American rapper Jack Harlow has also remained in the top 5, placing at number two for the fifth consecutive week. Released on 8th April 2022 via Atlantic and Generation Now, the single is the second track to be released from the singer’s second studio album Come Home The Kids Miss You. The album was released on 6th May 2022 and garnered Harlow two further chart placements, “Churchill Downs” featuring Drake charted at 19 and “Dua Lipa” placed at number 33.

Placing at number three within this week’s singles charts is “Go” by London based musician Cat Burns, after spending seventeen weeks on the charts the single reached its peak position this week. Lizzo and Styles recently made headlines with their surprise duet at this year’s Coachella festival, both artists have placed within this week’s top five. The lead single taken from Lizzo’s upcoming album has placed at number four, “About Damn Time” was released on 14th April 2022 and went viral earlier in the year through the app TikTok.

Closing the top five this week is Mercury Prize award winning artist Dave, the British rapper’s single “Starlight” was released on 3rd March 2022. The track debuted at number one within the UK singles charts and remained at the top spot for four weeks. The single features a sample of the 1954 canonised track “Fly Me To The Moon” and was self-produced by the artist.

Along with the singer’s chart success, Styles has also been tipped to win an Oscar for his role in the drama My Policeman. The former One Direction bandmember first broke into acting in 2017 with his debut role in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk. Styles’ career making role in My Policeman marks the singer’s fourth acting credit and is set to be released later this year. Based on a novel with the same title, Styles stars as a Brighton based policeman who struggles with sexuality and relationships during the 1950s.

You Me At Six’ latest record SUCKAPUNCH went straight into the top spot at the Official UK Album Charts. The album premiered last Friday, 15 January after an extensive and well-planned promotional campaign that started all the way back in the Summer of 2020 and saw the band share 4 singles, 3 music videos, 1 lyric visualisation, a mini-documentary and an exclusive launch-party live stream prior to the official release day. A huge success for the Surrey quintet, it is their second ever album to land a #1 following Cavalier Youth from 2014, and their sixth consecutive top 10 entry. In addition, their first four records have already been certified gold in the UK.

The official update by the OCC confirmed 85% of the sales in the first week came from physical copies, half of which bought at independent stores, and showed frontman Josh Franscechi thank both their fans and haters, and say: “A truly incredible moment for our band. Our love for our fan base, and their support, is endless. They have been the light at the end of a tunnel of a pretty rough time. The support of our loved ones, family, partners, friends. Everyone who worked on this record. Dan Austin and the rest of our studio family who worked relentlessly to make this with us. Our second number one almost seven years later is just madness. Sixers for life.”

At number 4 this week is Sleaford Mods’ Space Ribs that also premiered last week and is their first ever top 5 record, followed by The Good Times And The Bad Ones by Why Don’t We.
Straight upon its release, SUCKAPUNCH received predominantly positive reviews from all rock outlets, and huge praise from their loyal fan base. Clash points out that the passion and experimentation behind the record “could be what allows them to continue to brave the storm of the music industry for another fifteen years, should they still want to“. Giving it a solid 4/5, Kerrang! states that it “jabs with style, and demonstrates that, far from running out of ideas, this band remain intent on staying at the cutting edge of modern British rock“. Similarly, NME states that “it’s rare for a rock record to feel this exciting, especially coming from a band seven albums deep and, y’know, from Surrey, but every track ‘SUCKAPUNCH’ feels inspired in some way […] and you’d be hard-pressed not to keep the faith too“.

In addition to their admirable physical sales performance, the record also passed 10 million streams on Spotify, with similar achievement across all other major digital platforms. If government guidelines allow live events to go through later in the year, You Me At Six will embark on a busy Summer tour across the UK and Europe, with more information and tickets available at their website.

The official UK album charts can confirm, Queen and Adam Lambert have topped the charts for the first time in 25 years with their new album, ‘Live Around the World.’

The iconic British band beat K-pop girl group, Blackpink to the number 1 spot after receiving the most album sales following their release. The challenge was met after the Korean girl band had a late surge of downloads for their debut album. This makes it Queen’s 10th number 1 album making them equal to the likes of Eminem, Rod Stewart, U2 and Michael Jackson.

Brian May, Queens guitarist tells officialcharts.com, ‘Thank you folks for making us Number 1 after all these years. So Queen and Adam Lambert’s very first release is Number 1…amazing. God bless you all.’

Lambert first sung with drummer original Queen band members Roger Taylor and guitarist May in 2009 after securing a place in the finals on the eighth season of American Idol. Their new album is the first without former lead singer, Freddie Mercury who died in 1991. The album features live performances from around the world of their chart hits such as ‘We Will Rock You’ ‘Don’t stop Me Now’ ‘Radio Gaga’ and ‘We Are the Champions.’ The album was released as a thank you to fans following the cancelation of their 2020 tour due to the virus pandemic.

May told BBC News “As we all grapple with the challenge of creating live shows in a world dominated by a formidable viral enemy, it seemed the perfect time for us to create a collection of hand-picked live highlights.”

The new singer, Lambert commented to officialcharts.com about the new album’s success, “I am beyond thrilled that we are Number 1!!!!!! As I always say, I am the luckiest person in the world to be able to work with Brian and Roger, and I’m so glad people are enjoying this album so much! The fact that we can celebrate the iconic music of Queen all these years later is incredible. We are hoping to be back on the road at venues across the globe again very soon!”

Drummer Roger Taylor commented on the album to officialcharts.com, ‘Number 1, my favourite number. It’s been 25 years since Queen have had a Number 1 album and it’s a thrill, still! Thanks to everybody who went out and bought it. I hope you love it and get a lot of kicks out of it.”

The album concludes with a live performance in Sydney where the band played their classic live set to raise money for the Australian bush fire crisis.
