Cook, Caroline Polachek, Christine and the Queens or Rina Sawayama. See the full list of names below.

— Charli (@charli_xcx) November 1, 2021

Speculations about a potential collaboration with Christine and the Queens and Caroline Polachek began in September when Charli shared a photo of the three together. Polachek featured on Charli’s POP 2 mixtape from 2017 and Christine and the Queens on “Gone” from 2019.

The new album is arriving next year and the singer hinted a few months ago that it might be the 18th March 2022. Back in September she “posted an image of a headstone with the date of 18th March 2022“. Back then she also shared that the new, fifth record will be the last one under the contract that she signed when she was just 16 years old. Also back in September, the singer released the first single from the album, “Good Ones” along with a “twisted, dramatic and quite frankly electrifying music video“. At that time she explained that the single start a new chapter that “embraces all that my life has to offer in today’s world – fame, glamour, inner demons and global hits”.

Talking about her upcoming album she said to InStyle that it will be “kind of all about sex and sexuality” and “can make people dance and cry at the same time”. She confirmed that during ‘The Chart Show’ on Apple Music 1 saying: “I want it to all feel sexy. Like the music, the sounds, the tour, the videos, the clothes, the way they feel. So that’s kind of my hope really that everyone just discovers they’re in a sexy demon and it all comes out.” The new album will be the singer’s first big release after the lockdown’s How I am Feeling Now from 2020, which was fueled with the anxiety of those pandemic months.

Yesterday, 1st November Charli XCX shared a special Halloween performance of her latest single featuring drag queens of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. The performance sees stars of the show: Asttina Mandella, A’Whora, season two – Cherry Valentine and season three- Krystal Versace and Electra Fence. The group lip sync and perform to the “Good Ones’ dancing in sparkly Halloween costumes.
“‘OUT OUT’ feels like a proper party starter and is the perfect blend of our different sounds.

Singer and songwriter Charli XCX has announced a birthday gift to herself yesterday (2nd August) by confirming the release date for her new single “Good Ones“.
She took to Twitter, posting an image of herself styled in 80’s hair and makeup: “my new song Good Ones arrives on September 2nd. get ready to surrender, happy birthday to me“. She added after: “the higher the hair.. the closer to hell“.

The single will be the first from Charli XCX upcoming fifth album, which will be the singer’s first solo material since last year’s “How I’m Feeling Now“.
The last album has been written and recorded during the pandemic and it’s an “anxiety-fuelled trip“. The album received great reviews with four stars from NME that called it: “a musical time capsule, evoking the confusion that so many of us are feeling at the moment. Brimming with the prickling anxiety and stress that’s become commonplace during the pandemic (…) it’s a glorious, experimental collection – and a reminder that within all of the current heartache and destruction, we’re never truly on our own“. The release clearly shows “that we’re all feeling the effects of lockdown and missing our loved ones“. Check out the full mxdwn review of the album here.
Charlotte Emma Aitchison, aka Charli XCS, recently told Insider that she’s thinking about going back to the music that she started pre-lockdown: “I’m sort of beginning to think about that again. There are thoughts that I’m having, and a direction that I’m taking.”
Charli XCX new single “Good Ones” is out on 2nd September and can be pre-saved here.

Charli XCX will play at the Reading and Leeds Festival at the end of summer. Tickets are still available to purchase. She will also play at Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona in 2022 alongside Beck, Disclosure and Jorja Smith.
