Camden Rocks Festival is fast approaching and consequently tantalising new line up announcements are being made regularly, comprising an impressive list of over 200 names on the bill altogether. The one-day festival takes place in London’s exuberant Camden Town across a range of world class venues, celebrating alternative music and giving up-and-coming bands a valuable platform as well as showcasing an array of renowned acts.

Following our article published earlier this month detailing the addition of bands such as Room 94 and Amaryllis, a brand new list of confirmed performers has been announced – including Californian punk favourites Zebrahead, British rockers HECK (previously known as Baby Godzilla) and many more.
Sadly, previously announced bands Escape The Fate and We Are The Ocean have had to pull out of the festival, however in light of today’s wave of confirmed acts it seems that 2016’s Camden Rocks is building up to be bigger and better than ever before.

Camden Rocks 2016 takes place on June 4th, with tickets priced at just £35 each. The festival has a history of selling out, so you better act fast!

More information and tickets are available via the official website.

Camden Rocks is shaping up to be one of the UK’s most exciting up and coming festivals, despite differing from more conventional summer music festivals in that it takes place in the heart of London and prides itself on showcasing both known and unknown bands, making for an electric atmosphere like no other. Camden Rocks is a must for any rock fan, turning the buzzing hub of Camden Town into a day long musical extravaganza with the party continuing long into the night.

Following our recent article detailing Camden Rocks Festival’s previous wave of announced performers, over 20 additional acts have been confirmed for the festival, joining bands such as Young Guns, We Are The Ocean and The Cribs.

The news of Escape The Fate’s appearance is an exciting development for this year’s festival; the post hardcore band have a dedicated fan-base and a career spanning a decade. Escape The Fate recently released their fifth studio album Hate Me on October 30th last year, which marked a new era for the band after several months of uncertainty due to the loss of several band members – however having just finished a successful world tour and with festival dates to look forward to this summer, it seems the band are back on track.

Meanwhile, headliners The Cribs (described by Q Magazine as “the biggest cult band in the UK”) have amounted critical acclaim, having notched up various awards since the release of their self titled debut album in 2004 – including NME‘s Outstanding Contribution To Music Award. The band released sixth studio album For All My Sisters in March last year and went on to perform at Glastonbury 2015, making them ones to watch at this year’s Camden Rocks.

This year’s festival is due to take place on June 4th and so far the line up totals at over 130 bands – with 80 more still to be announced!

If you haven’t already heard of it, Camden Rocks is a one day music bonanza in the heart of London’s diverse district of Camden Town, celebrating all things rock and punk by hosting a multitude of gigs across the town in over twenty different venues.

Camden is well established as the home of all things wonderfully unorthodox, making it the perfect setting for the alternative nature of Camden Rocks. Camden Rocks prides itself on giving up-and-coming bands a platform (even allowing bands to submit themselves to perform – if you are in a band, you can do so here), showcasing talent and indulging the musical sub-genres that are often forgotten by the media… and the presence of acclaimed venues such as the Barfly and The Electric Ballroom doesn’t hurt, either.

Today 14 new acts were added to the line up, joining previously announced performers for this year’s festival such as Young Guns, New Years Day and We Are The Ocean. Today’s additions are:

Yashin

Penetration

Sonic Boom Six

Johnny Foreigner

The St Pierre Snake Invasion

Symmetry

Sky Valley Mistress

Grumble Bee

JOANovARC

Blurred Vision

Desperate Measures

The Fallen State

Duchess

Emily Lee

There are currently a whopping 100 bands set to play at the festival, with over 100 more bands plus a headliner still to be added. Last years performers included Bullet For My Valentine, Skindred, While She Sleeps and Funeral For A Friend, which set a high standard for 2016 – a standard that is sure to be met!

A headliner is due to be announced next week on Tuesday 29th March. Camden Rocks 2016 takes place on Saturday 4th June 2016, and more information/ tickets can be found on the official website.
