The band has stated that they can’t wait to celebrate with MTV, and this concert will be an opportunity for British fans to enjoy an intimate evening with one of England’s legendary rock bands.

The band gained worldwide success with their debut album “Sixteen Stone” in 1994 and only a few years later, in 1996, their record “Razorblade Suitcase” peaked at number one shortly after its release on Billboard. Despite their initial success, their fourth studio album “Golden State”, released in 2001, failed in sales which eventually prompted the band to separate in 2002. Their separation was also attributed to front man Gavin Rossdale’s wish to focus more on his acting career, and on his other band, the Institute.

Bush reunited in 2010 with some new members, when they released their album “The Sea of Memories” which peaked at number 18 on Billboard 200. The song “Into the Blue” was also included in the Avengers soundtrack.

In recent years, Bush have continued to release music and tour. Their latest album, “The Art of Survival” marked their ninth studio release in 2022 and was followed by an European world tour which took the band around many cities in western Europe. After releasing a compilation of their greatest hits, titled “Loaded: The Greatest Hits 1994-2023” only last year, Bush has been touring over North America. They have performed in cities such as Boston, Nashville and Chicago and have ended the first leg of their tour at the iconic Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. But they’re not stopping: only last week, they have announced a new series of dates in the States: they’ll be performing in Virginia, Oklahoma, Chicago and Minneapolis between November and December.

This performance is part of a series of concerts organized by EMAs and MTV ahead of the much-awaited award night, which will be livestreamed from co-op Manchester on November 10. Set to grace this year’s stage with breath-taking performances are the likes of Shawn Mendes, RAYE, and many more.

Rossdale said of the new album and landmark, “I’m really grateful that I get the chance to make music after all of this time. The privilege is not lost on me. I’m still in the octagon, and I think that’s healthy because I’m good at fighting.”

The Grammy nominated outfit have selected tracks from all of their nine studio albums including smash hits “Everything Zen,” “Machinehead” and “Glycerine” from Sixteen Stone. Bush will also be heading out on a North American headlining tour  to celebrate their 31 years as a band, beginning in November.

Forming in London in 1992, Bush became one of the most popular bands of the 90s, both in the UK and globally, with their breakaway hit Sixteen Stone. Spawning five lead singles, two of which, “Glycerine” and “Comedown,” remain the band’s most popular and successful tracks, the album cemented the band as one of the decade’s most successful acts. Sixteen Stone would go on to be certified Platinum and garner almost universal critical acclaim.

Long considered, arguably, a more popular band on the other side of the Atlantic, their follow up to Sixteen Stone, 1996’s Razorblade Suitcase topped the charts in the US and performed very well across European markets, although the album received less critical attention due to what many cited as a negative change sonically to what made their debut so successful.

Due to a decline in album sales and dwindling support from their label, Bush decided to call it quits in 2002 after ten years making music with members moving on to solo or alternate projects. Rossdale found some success with his band Institute and even, briefly, waded into the waters of acting.

Bush reunited in 2010 and have released five more studio records including 2022’s The Art Of Survival which received mostly positive reviews, with many believing it to be the best of their reunited years.

The upcoming concert will be held on 22nd-23rd July 2022 in Portugal’s Azores. Alongside a star-studded line-up, lucky ticketholders will also get to experience the beautiful surroundings of Sete Cidades Massif volcano, a historic crater located between two lakes. Presently used as a naturally formed theatre and concert venue, its last eruption was recorded in 1880.

The inaugural event will be held in support of global conservation and will be hosted by Nicole Scherzinger, the former Pussycat Doll will also join the confirmed acts on stage for a special performance. Keeping with the event’s eco-friendly cause, the concert also promises to be a low emission event and aims to put a spotlight on the progressive work seen within conservation’s leading organisations. The summer event was established by Atlantis Entertainment, the record label and global music and entertainment conglobate responsible for the career of many high-profile artists.

Atlantis Entertainment CEO and co-founder Nuno Bettencourt spearheaded the project and has given the following statement concerning the event, “Atlantis Concert for Earth is a concert and global conservation celebration which uses the universal language and the power of music to showcase the incredible solution-driven work of leading conservationists and organizations from around the world – the true ‘Rockstars for Earth;’ to flip the current narrative of climate and conservation from blame, anger, and doom; to positivity and hope by shining a light on inspirational solutions to get us back in balance with our planet. It’s time to stop telling everyone how we are all going to die, but instead show them how we’re all going to live.”

Bettencourt has become known in the industry for his talent and success within various avenues within the entertainment world. The Portuguese American artist first rose to fame as the lead guitarist in rock band Extreme, shortly after the release of their debut album Bettencourt scored a billboard hit for his work on the Janet Jackson single “Black Cat”. The Grammy-award winning artist has also made waves for his work as a producer, Bettencourt has worked with some of music’s biggest acts including Toni Braxton, Rhianna and Nickelback.

Included within the many organisations which are to be showcased are Sea Legacy, The Ocean Cleanup, Blue Azores and Re:wild, the operation aims to utilise education and collaborations to promote biodiversity. Chief scientist and CEO of Re:Wild, Wes Sechrest has given the following statement concerning the forthcoming concert,  “Biodiversity, from wildlife to ecosystems, underpins the existence of life on Earth. We are excited to be a part of Concert for Earth, a celebration of the symphony of life on our unique planet and an invitation to come together to protect and restore nature for the benefit of biodiversity, the climate, and all of us.”

The event encourages donations from ticketholders and those at home, alongside the donated funds the event also promises that 100% of the money obtained will be given to the featured charities and non-profit organisations. Tickets are now on sale for residents and locals to the Azores area, those who are unable to attend will still be able to watch selected highlights. As from Saturday 23rd July 2022 handpicked performances will be available to watch virtually via the Veeps platforms.

Despite these complications, the release date for the band’s eighth studio album, “The Kingdom”, remains unaffected. The release date is July 17, according to the band’s frontman Gavin Rossdale during an interview with Tucson’s rock station Rock 102.1 KFMA. The album is available for pre-order purchase from the official website of the band and Amazon. The single to the album, “Flowers On A Grave” was released on March 18. The previous release of the band was the song “Bullet Holes” on May 17, 2019. It was featured in the Keanu Reeves-starring action movie “John Wick: Chapter 3- Parabellum”. The piece was co-written by film composer Tyler Bates, who has previously worked with Marilyn Manson. According to an interview for iRock Radio, Rossdale shared that the song wasn’t written with the intention of being included in the film. Recently, Bush’s frontman shared with fans the playlist that keeps him entertained under the lockdown with the statement “Music is infinite and so is our ability to find the best part of ourselves”.
