Bring Me The Horizon spared no creative expenses when making the record, recruiting the likes of Yungblud, BABYMETAL, Nova Twins, and Amy Lee for the riotous new EP.

Bring Me The Horizons’ lead vocalist Oliver Sykes opened up each killer collaboration, singing the highest of praises for each talented artist. When talking about collaborating with Yungblud on Obey, Sykes maintained that the artist’s brazen authenticity makes them integral to the modern music scene. 

Sykes relayed that “He’s the kind of artist that rock needs – the kind of rockstar that changes a scene. I love him; he lights up a room. He’s the polar opposite to me. I wish I could have that confidence that he has. It’s infectious and that’s why a lot of kids look up to him.”

Sykes then went on to compare Yungblud to the late great David Bowie. Sykes said: “not since Bowie have we had people who are just so unashamedly and genuinely themselves and don’t give fuck or play by the rules.”

According to the Happy Song singer, another reason Bring Me the Horizon wanted to work with Yungblud was to strengthen their shared music scenes. Sykes stated that “Even Yungblud was like, ‘Doing a song together is so good for the scene’…It doesn’t matter if you’ve got the best band in the world, because if that’s the only one, then that scene dies… You can count on two hands the prominent rock bands that aren’t legacy acts or indie/pop bands like The 1975.”

Sykes meditated on how the amount of living rock legends has sadly dwindled over the decades. The talented vocalist said: “For actually heavy rock, there aren’t really enough artists to coax people in. I get excited when I see Machine Gun Kelly doing a pop-punk album. That’s going to bring people into our world.”

When discussing BABYMETAL, whom the band enlisted for Kingslayer, Bring Me The Horizon revealed that they had been anxious to work with the duo for a long time. Sykes revealed that “We wanted to do something with them for ages…We’ve got a really special connection with them, even though we don’t speak the same language. We don’t hang out or have conversations, but when you see them, it makes you really happy.”

Sykes also said that BABYMETAL fit perfectly into the EP’s core message: “They work so well with the whole idea of this record being cyber punky. It sounds like an anime trailer.”

Meanwhile, Bring Me The Horizon have confirmed that they will embark on a UK tour next year. The band will hit the road in September 2021, beginning the POSTHUMAN tour in Glasgow and concluding the anticipated tour in London.

Poised for arrival on October 30th, the fastly approaching POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR will be a nine track EP. In preparation for the highly anticipated record, Bring Me The Horizon dropped the Yungblud collaboration, Obey, on September 2nd. 

Bring Me The Horizon took to social media to raise the alarm about some new music. Taking to Instagram, the band shared a psychedelic snap with the simple yet exciting caption: “POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR. 30/10/20.” The exciting post has received a whopping 152,000 likes, one fan writing excitedly “This is the moment we’ve been waiting for!”

Additionally, Bring Me The Horizon will go on tour in 2021, playing five shows across the UK. Bring Me The Horizon will start the POST HUMAN tour at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro on September 21st, 2021 and will close the tour on September 26th at the O2 in London. 

Tickets for the POST HUMAN tour will go on sale on Friday October 23rd at 10:00am. For the die-hard fans, Bring Me The Horizon announced on Instagram today that fans can preorder the EP to be granted with early access to tickets for the upcoming tour.

Bring Me The Horizon have placed some killer collaborations on POST HUMAN. The Happy Song rockers have confirmed that Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee, London duo Nova Twins, Japanese band BABYMETAL, and of course Yungblud, will make appearances on the EP.

Amy Lee will lend her entrancing vocals on the lengthy titled One Day the Only Butterflies Left Will Be in Your Chest as You March Towards Your Death. In a post on Twitter, the Bring Me To Life singer wrote “I cannot wait for this to come out. I love our collab SO much.”

Bring Me The Horizon formed in Sheffield in 2004. The band consists of vocalist Oliver Sykes, guitarists Curtis Ward and Lee Malia on guitar, drummer Matt Nicholls and bassist Matt Kean. Since their conception, Bring Me The Horizon has shapeshifted between heavy rock, death metal and headlining giants. Their searing debut album, Count Your Blessings, was released on October 30th, 2006.
