The Oscar and grammy award winning singer songwriter took Leicester Square by storm on Tuesday April 28 to celebrate her new tour film. The premier was held in the famed Odeon Luxe in London, the event celebrates the next chapter in Eilish’s exciting stardom journey.

Eilish took the carpet sporting a loose tailored shirt and greeted hundreds of fans waiting outside despite the event being invite only. Taking time to great those that waited patiently it’s evident that Eilish has one of the most dedicated fan bases out there. The premier alone drew such a big crowd that it is no doubt the film itself will be an incredible success.

The film itself arrives in cinemas globally on May 8 and all footage took place during her mammoth world tour, notably with most of the footage taken during her incredible Manchester shows. The project is set to blend tour footage with intimate behind the scenes moments displaying Eilish’s charismatic personality both on and off the stage. With Cameron as a director and Eilish as the star of the show this is set to be an endeavour beloved by film and music fans everywhere.

Documenting the Hit Me Hard And Soft tour that Eilish embarked on was a beautiful decision as the tour meant so much to every single fan that attended. Countless individuals queued, made friends and danced the night away at each and every show. The album itself, ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft’ is Eilish’s most notorious project in modernity due to to her tack, ‘Birds Of A Feather’ accumulating over 3 billion streams and rising each day. This project is a love letter to the fans as they can replay their favourite memories on the big screen.

The tour itself sold out worldwide and further established Eilish’s role as one of the most influential performers currently. The tour itself ran from September of 2024 all the way till November of 2025 with support from Magdalena Bay, Men I Trust, Lola Young, Tom Odell and many other talented openers. The tour received praising reviews from critics and fans alike and even broke the long standing single attendance record in Sydney. A Los Angeles native, Eilish’s career was formed in her childhood bedroom, spun at the fingertips of her brother Finneas O’Connel. The pair worked excessively hard in producing her first single, ‘Ocean Eyes’ releasing it independently on Soundcloud on November 19, 2015. From the moment ‘Ocean Eyes’ hit streaming services it was evident both Eilish and her brother were a pair to keep a close eye on. They have gone on to take the music industry by storm and Billie Eilish is arguably one of the most popular names in music modernity.

From the initial break-through of ‘Ocean Eyes’ it was clear Eilish was different from her competition. inseparable from her musical brother, expressing herself through her clothing and withholding such great musical talent at the young age of 14. Over the years that difference in her from her peers has become her signature staple, solidifying her spot in the ever-changing music industry. Even from the very early silver haired days, a cult following began to form around Eilish, young fans would line up for hours for a chance to meet her and cram into tiny venues to witness the sibling pair perform their bedroom produced music.

All throughout this process, the loyal fans from the Soundcloud days remained in the front rows cheering Eilish on.

Eilish has gone on to release 3 albums and 3 EP’s and is featured on countless other tracks by her musical friends. At just 24 years old, her achievements are eye watering, sold out world tours, 9 Grammys, an Oscar winning song and throughout all this she remains authentic.

Eilish is extremely politically vocal, speaking up about the overturning of Roe V. Wade, women’s rights, gun violence and racial violence. This record was previously held by none other than Justin Timberlake at 20,839 attendees however Eilish’s record breaking show racked up a staggering 21,001 attendees. The tour spanned 106 shows over six continents and not a single dry eye was in the audience at each show.

Eilish released the trailer for ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D)’ and the trailer alone has some spectacular shots. The film is set to redefine concert recordings with new cutting-edge technology that’s never before been used to capture the true concert experiences. This goes beyond typical concert recordings, with a narrative pull, song performances and emotional tugs, for Billie Eilish fans it is worth the cinema trip.

“No one’s shot a concert film on this scale before” states Cameron in a clip used in the trailer. This is guaranteed to be a blockbuster of a tour film, especially in the hands of such a trustworthy, fabled director.

The trailer shared some exclusive scenes to build excitement. Eilish can be seen interacting with hardcore fans camping out for her shows, clips are used from her dramatic, lively onstage performances, her loving family are seen cheering her on particularly her brother Finneas. Eilish’s brother has had a huge hand in her stardom, and she shares her vulnerability at the fact this is her first tour without him by her side all the way.

A keen eye for creative work behind the lens, Eilish is no stranger to directing. She has famously directed a large bulk of her music videos and always performs her own stunts. Wether that be placing live spiders in her mouth, diving underwater for the perfect shot or rapidly rotating in a chair, she’s not afraid to get her hands dirty for the soul of her ambition.

A deep dive into both the psychological and physical toll that a tour this extreme can have on an individual, it will be interesting to peel back the curtain and take a look into what this truly does to someone’s mind.

Billie Eilish’s stage had an extremely unique layout of a figure eight shape and a 360-degree stage design, including smaller stages within the layout. The stage was centrally located, which allowed a clear view from every angle for the audience, a large-scale LED wall design that displayed original content and unique visual experiences, sunken pits for the band, walkways for Billie to get close to her fans, and a platform that allowed her to jump out of the floor as her entrance. The main stage was in the center of the design, while Billie also included a secondary stage on the other side of the arena, where she surprised fans, as well as including a floating platform.     

Her setlist was broken up into three sections, breaking up the performances between the main and secondary stages. Billie’s setlist included songs ‘CHIHIRO’, ‘LUNCH’, ‘NDA’, ‘WILDFLOWER’, ‘THE GREATEST’, ‘Your Power’, ‘bury a friend’, and ‘THE DINER’.

She then snuck off onto the secondary stage to perform ‘everything I wanted’, and ‘Guess’, her song with English singer-songwriter Charli XCX. Billie ended her set back on the main stage performing songs ‘L’AMOUR DE MA VIE’, ‘BLUE’, ‘Happier Than Ever’, ‘What Was I Made For?’, her song created for the 2023 Barbie movie, and ended with ‘BIRDS OF A FEATHER’. 

Eilish gave incredible crowd engagement throughout her shows by using a handheld camera to reveal the audience during certain songs, talking with her fans, and allowing them to participate with specific movements, and sing-alongs to popular songs. Billie had incredible range vocally and with her stage presence, with a mix of her highly energetic atmosphere, but also created extremely intimate moments during certain powerful songs that allowed for an emotional connection with her fans.

During her shows, Billie also had a moment of silence, recording different vocals on top of each other without the background noise of others, which added a unique layer of intimacy and stage performance.

Billie Eilish released her highly successful album ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft’ in May 2024, which reached number one in many countries and was the second most consumed album globally last year. 

The singer has been on tour for this album since September, starting in Canada and North America. In 2025, she started with her Australian leg and headed over to Europe in April. Billie’s current UK leg ends in Dublin on July 27. She also later announced two nights in Tokyo, Japan, in August, before heading back to North America for a second round in the Autumn.  

Raised in a musical family, the singer was introduced to the music scene early on, beginning formal lessons at the age of six. At the age of eighteen, Young was signed to Island Records, opening the door to multiple opportunities. Lola Young gained massive success through her hit song ‘Messy’, a track on her ‘This Wasn’t Meant For You Anyway’ album released last year, which skyrocketed on social media through the help of TikTok, with over a million posts using her sound. Young recently released a single titled ‘One Thing’, peaking at the number 20 spot on the UK singles charts and climbing to her top three songs on Spotify. Her success of ‘Messy’ and ‘One Thing’ has allowed Young to gain deserved attention for her talent after years of being unheard of and ‘underrated’. 

Young is currently on tour in Europe and opened for Billie Eilish’s ‘HIT ME HARD AND SOFT’ tour this week on 10 and 11 June They performed at the Accor Arena in Paris, France, with an audience of 45,000 fans. Young’s set list included songs ‘Conceited’, ‘Big Brown Eyes’, ‘Walk On By’, ‘Messy’, and her new single, ‘One Thing’. Billie Eilish gave a special shout-out to Young after opening her tour, explaining that she loves her song ‘Conceited’. Eilish performed popular songs ‘CHIHIRO’, ‘THE GREATEST’, ‘BIRDS OF A FEATHER’, and ‘What Was I Made For?’.

Lola Young’s upcoming performance includes Manchester, London, Belgium, Denmark, as well as being scheduled to perform at the famous Glastonbury festival later this month. She will also be touring in North America in the autumn. Tickets can be found here.

The event was launched in London in 2022, in collaboration with non-profit Support+Feed, an organisation founded by Baird which focuses on tackling the climate crisis and food insecurity around the world. This year, the summit will return to The O2 in London on July 14, while making its debut in Berlin a few days before on July 9.

The event aims to host climate activists and music industry individuals, organisations and fans to connect and come together for discussion and activities on green initiatives. The official webpage for OVERHEATED says that attendees can expect short talks, panel discussions, fireside chats, video presentations, and maybe a surprise guest or two at the end of the day.

This year, OVERHEATED will host a ‘Community Village’ within the venue spaces in both London and Berlin. Here, audience members and organizations can meet and connect, partaking in conversation and fashion activities such as customizing shirts and watching local designer showcases. Fans can bring their own T-shirt to customize or pick one on site, free of charge.

A press release states: “OVERHEATED will bring together climate activists, music fans, and other leading voices for two days filled with discussion, community building and resources to help tackle the climate crisis. The programs will highlight a variety of easy and accessible actions for audience members to have a positive impact on their communities and in the continued global effort to combat climate change.”

Maggie Baird expressed her excitement for the event: “We are so grateful and incredibly humbled to be able to bring OVERHEATED to Berlin for the first time ever this year, and back to London where it all started for us. We can’t wait to continue the conversations with you all, finding ways to help our planet and combat climate change, with so many incredible people, all under one roof.”

Billie Eilish herself is no stranger to climate activism. She’s often used interviews to share her stance on the climate crisis, such as in an early feature with NME, stating “Hopefully the adults and the old people start listening to us [about climate change] so that we don’t all die.”

She spoke further on her advocacy for green initiatives in an interview with Vogue, humorously explaining “I’m still not shoving information down people’s throats. I’m more like, I’m not going to tell you what to do. I’m just going to tell you why I do this. But you’re also a bad person if you don’t do it.”

During her 2022 ‘Happier Than Ever’ world tour, Billie set up eco-villages within her concert venues, collaborating with Reverb, a non-profit organization that aims to educate and engage musicians and their fans to promote environmental sustainability. Within these spaces, fans were able to fill their water bottles for free, register to vote, and learn about environmental organizations.

Eventgoers with standing tickets for Eilish’s evening performances on the same days at both the Uber Arena in Berlin and The O2 in London will receive ‘dedicated entry’ to their chosen show – ensuring they won’t have to rejoin the general queue or risk losing their place in the line.

The OVERHEATED event launched in London in 2022 with individuals and organisations across the music industry discussing environmental initiatives. Eilish has been involved in climate action discussions amongst other celebrities throughout this time. This year will also be the first time Eilish will debut it in Berlin, stretching the outreach of their ethos. Eilish hosts this event alongside the nonprofit Support + Feed organisation founded and run by her mother Maggie Baird to support plant-based food systems. In a press release interview with DORK magazine+, Baird expressed her love and excitement to bring the event to great heights, stating “We are so grateful and incredibly humbled to be able to bring OVERHEATED to Berlin for the first time ever this year, and back to London where it all started for us,”.

Following its launch, Eilish also released an OVERHEATED documentary, discussing the question of where we as individuals, and a society are doing enough for the environment in tackling climate issues. The film also features Yungblud, Girl in red, Glastonbury co-organiser Emily Eavis and her brother Finneas.

Only a day after the release of ticket sales, the Berlin and London events are already sold out, though it has been announced to also be streamed on Eilish’s Youtube Channel. The 2024 event is still available to watch from its recording on Youtube. 

The support of other celebrities and big names in the music industry has been extremely influential in the success of Eilish’s OVERHEATED event, merging fan bases and music passion to environmental issues. 

 The OVERHEATED event follows the release of her 2024 album ‘HIT ME HARD AND SOFT’ which she will be touring worldwide from this April. Tickets can be found on the artist’s website.

  From here, XCX brought on a number of acts including Billie Eilish for a remix of their collaborated single ‘Guess’ which recently won Song of The Year at the Brit Awards. Additionally, the single was noted as top song in mxdwn uk’s 2024 roundup. Eilish posted a recording of the performance onto X.

Next came a widely anticipated guest feature from fellow alt-pop singer Lorde who was introduced in a killer strut alongside XCX. Fans went crazy for the pair’s iconic dynamic and unforgettable stage presence.

The two went on to perform a rendition of ‘Girl So Confusing’ together. With the two singer’s legendary status in the alt-pop space, the song’s navigation of relationships between women was a refreshingly real and vulnerable exploration which struck a chord with fans of both artists. The song has achieved one of the highest streams on Spotify from XCX’s collaboration album ‘Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat’ with the song reaching over 130 million listens. After the release of the original ‘brat’ album, the project debuted at number two in UK charts, however the release of her remixed collaboration album pushed it to number one.  After the performance of ‘Girl So Confusing’, XCX proclaimed an oncoming ‘Lorde Summer 2025’, sharing her excitement for the singer’s upcoming releases since her last album ‘Solar Power’ in 2021. Lorde has teased these upcoming tracks on TikTok, with a spirited moody snippet of an unreleased song.

Record Store Day has become an annual celebration ever since it first started in 2008, and now it is more famous and popular than ever with all the best selling artists in the world joining in. While the initial goal of the event was that to support small and independent record stores, it has now become a staple in the music culture and a date that vinyl collectors await with much excitement, as it is the one day in the year where we can all get our hands on a new, very limited edition, a recording from decades ago or a special deluxe edition which will only be available on the day.

Among the most anticipated records are:

1. Taylor Swift – ‘Fortnight’

The lead single from Taylor Swift’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department‘ will be available on 7″ white vinyl, with one side featuring the song and one side featuring ‘Fortnight [BLOND:ISH Remix]’ which will be available for the first time on vinyl.

2. Oasis – ‘Compilation Time Flies‘

The compilation which ranges from 1994 to 2009 will be available for the first time on vinyl.

3. Charli xcx – ‘Number 1 Angel’ 

The artist’s third mixtape, originally released in 2017. It was only released on vinyl as a double pressing with ‘Pop 2‘ and will be released on a new pressing for the first time ever for RSD.

4. Charli xcx and Billie Eilish – ‘Guess’

The collaboration between Billie Eilish and Charli xcx, which earned them a number one on the UK songs chart and was included in MXDWN’s best songs of 2024, will be released for the first time on vinyl.

5. Sam Fender – ‘Me and the Dog‘

British singer and songwriter Sam Fender was announced as the ambassador for this year’s edition of Record Store Day. The artist will also be releasing an exclusive RSD pressing of a special six tracks EP titled ‘Me and the Dog‘, which will also include two brand new tracks.

Other artists that are releasing special editions or limited pressing of their music for RSD include Fred Again with the very first release on vinyl of the EP ‘Actual Life Piano Sessions’, a new live recording from Elton John, a live recording edition of ‘The Secret of Us’ by Gracie Abrams and Griff ‘Live at Alexandra Palace’.

1. Ed Sheeran – ‘Mathematics Tour Collection’

Sheeran does it again, releasing a collection of his biggest hits included in the set list of his record-breaking ‘Mathematics’ Tour which will resume this January in Asia and make its way back to Europe in the summer. The album debuted at number five and has spent 14 weeks in the UK top ten, peaking at number one for the first time this week. It marks Sheeran’s eight album to achieve this milestone, fourteen years after ‘+‘ had first reached the position.

2. Sabrina Carpenter – ‘Short n Sweet‘

We’re now used to seeing Carpenter dominating charts after she created new records with the singles off ‘Short n Sweet‘, which have altogether spent more than twenty weeks at number one. ‘Short n Sweet‘, released last August, has spent nineteen weeks charting and has never left the top three! It debuted at number one, where it spent two non-consecutive weeks. It is Carpenter’s first album to achieve the UK top ten and her sixth studio album overall.

3. SZA – ‘SOS‘

SZA’s highly anticipated second studio album, ‘SOS‘ was released in December 2022 and debuted at number two. It has spent 108 weeks in the top 100, recently making a big comeback in the top 10 thanks to the deluxe version ‘Lana‘ being released. It’s a big accomplishment for a second album, considering her debut ‘CTRL‘ had only peaked 45, and ‘SOS‘ will perhaps climb to number one once the physical copies of the deluxe are released: it will make the artist’s first ever number one album.

4. Chappell Roan – ‘The Rise and Fall of a Midwestern Princess‘

The album spends another 29th week in the UK top ten, charting for an overall of 38. It previously peaked at number one, and it’s Chappell Roan’s first album to do so as well as her first ever album to chart in the UK. The album was originally released in September of 2023, and Official Charts included the artist as one of those whose slow-burn career turned out to be worth it in 2024.

5. Charli xcx – ‘BRAT‘

Another slow-burn career, and the artists behind mxdwn UK’s best song of 2024. ‘BRAT’ debuted at number two and it took the album a good while to achieve the number one position but it eventually did. It has spent an overall of 30 weeks in the top 100 since its debut back in June of last year. It is the artist’s second number one album and her longest charting yet.

6. Elton John – ‘Diamonds‘

The collection of hits has spent 373 weeks in the top 100 since its debut in 2017, peaking at number two in 2023 for two consecutive weeks. British legend Elton John currently has eight albums peaking at number one, and, including ‘Diamonds‘, he has so far spent 1433 weeks charting in the UK top 100.

7. Billie Eilish - ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft‘

The album first appeared on charts in May 2024, with a strong debut at number one. Ever since, it has spent 25 weeks in the top ten and 33 in the top 100. It is Eilish’s third album to peak at number one, her first was back in 2019 when the artist was only 17 and broke the record for the youngest female artist in UK history to achieve a number one album.

8. The Weeknd – ‘The Highlights‘

Another collection album, which has spent 204 weeks charting and has peaked at number two, spending there many non-consecutive weeks. It is the artist’s sixth album to reach the UK top ten, three of which have achieved the number one position.

9. Taylor Swift – ‘The Tortured Poets Department’

Swift’s twelfth album to peak at number one and the biggest album of 2024 in the UK. It has spent 37 weeks on charts, ten of which at number one, since its release in April of last year.

10. Fleetwood Mac – ‘Fifty Years – Don’t Stop’

Peaking at number 5 and spending 320 weeks charting, it is the band’s 13th album to reach the UK top ten. It was released to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the band’s creation and includes their biggest hits, including UK number one ‘Albatross’.
