Taking to Instagram to share the remix with her fans, the singer posted a video of her mouthing the lyrics to the tune, captioning it “Some of you asked if Duffy was really doing a UK Garage Remix…”, she since then deleted the post, leaving her instagram with only one post. The 2008 hit spent five weeks atop the UK Chart and went on to become the third best-selling single of the year. Her debut album ‘Rockferry’ peaked at number 1, which featured songs ‘Mercy’ and ‘Warwick Avenue’ (the latter peaked at 3). Her 2010 LP ‘Endlessly’ peaked at number 9 too!

Sharing with CNN, the Welsh artist recalled: “It was my birthday, I was drugged at a restaurant, I was drugged then for four weeks and travelled to a foreign country. I can’t remember getting on the plane and came round in the back of a travelling vehicle. I was put into a hotel room and the perpetrator returned and raped me. I remember the pain and trying to stay conscious in the room after it happened. I was stuck with him for another day, he didn’t look at me, I was to walk behind him, I was somewhat conscious and withdrawn. I could have been disposed of by him…”

“I do not know how I had the strength to endure those days, I did feel the presence of something that helped me stay alive. I flew back with him, I stayed calm and as normal as someone could in a situation like that, and when I got home, I sat, dazed, like a zombie. I knew my life was in immediate danger, he made veiled confessions of wanting to kill me. With what little strength I had, my instinct was to then run, to run and find somewhere to live that he could not find.”

“The perpetrator drugged me in my own home in the four weeks, I do not know if he raped me there during that time, I only remember coming round in the car in the foreign country and the escape that would happen by me fleeing in the days following that. I do not know why I was not drugged overseas; it leads me to think I was given a class A drug and he could not travel with it.”

“After it happened, someone I knew came to my house and saw me on my balcony staring into space, wrapped in a blanket. I cannot remember getting home. The person said I was yellow in colour and I was like a dead person. They were obviously frightened but did not want to interfere, they had never seen anything like it.”

Ultimately, the singer didn’t want to completely disappear and change everything about her life, having already lost so much. She stated she didn’t want to do a disservice to herself by hiding her story.

He said: “Each record before I’ve done, like, all the big going in and doing all these radio interviews, and going on the late-night shows, and doing, doing all this stuff. And this record, there’s not even a single for it. There’s not, there’s not a music video. I’m just putting it out”.  

The project is the first in line for Sheeran as an independent release, after the singer founded Gingerbread Man Records a few years ago. The superstar, who has more than 75 million monthly listeners on Spotify, explained that there is less pressure working independently.  

The “Bad Habits” singer said: “I wanna put out an independent record. And also, like, I’ve had 12, 13 years of the, being a pop star, and having the pressure of it has to sell this week one, you have to have this hit single, you have to have this. And part of me goes, ‘Why?’”

He continued: “Everything has to be the biggest and best every time, and then better the next time. I think that’s part of the independent thing, that takes away the pressure. There are no expectations because there’s no company. You have to live with it. You have to be like, ‘I don’t care what people think.”  

Autumn Variations is the seventh studio album released by the “Lego House” singer and comes after the smash success of his previous album Subtract, which was released earlier this year. Subtract, which has been certified Gold in the UK for selling over 100,000 copies, produced the hits “Eyes Closed” and “Boat.”

The hitmaker announced Autumn Variations this summer and explained the inspiration behind the record. He said on Instagram: “Last autumn, I found that my friends and I were going through so many life changes. After the heat of the summer, everything either calmed, settled, fell apart, came to a head or imploded.” 

He continued, “When I went through a difficult time at the start of last year, writing songs helped me understand my feelings and come to terms with what was going on, and when I learned about my friend’s different situations, I wrote songs, some from their perspectives, some from mine, to capture how they and I viewed the world at that time. There were highs of falling in love and new friendships among lows of heartbreak, depression, loneliness and confusion.”

It will see discussions of the highs, lows, and the paranormal. In a recent interview with Rollingstone, Kelly Osbourne said “It’s not like a TV show, we can say do whatever we want.”

The idea to start up the podcast for a new season, came after Ozzy Osbourne announced on Twitter his retirement back in February 2023, due to numerous health conditions.

It plans to air 20 episodes, of the family getting together at Sharon and Ozzy’s home.  Jack Osbourne will be leading Ozzy, Sharon, and Kelly in an untamed, capricious adventure through love, laughter, and what being an Osbourne is all about.

In a teaser clip, the family are discussing plastic surgery. Jack comments on his mum Sharon “Every 5000 miles mom goes in for a tune-up.” Both Sharon and Kelly agree, with Kelly adding “No look, I do not want one of those necks in which you can flick, that will never happen”; However, Ozzy, didn’t agree! 

The podcast’s first season aired back in March 2018 but came to an end, as Ozzy began touring, leaving Sharon, Jack and Kelly to riff about the then latest hot topics in the last episode.

Alongside the announcement of the returning podcast, Sharon and Kelly spoke to Daily Mail about Ozzy’s health and let fans know that he is doing well. Kelly tells the Daily Mail in an online interview “He’s got Parkinson’s and terrible spine surgery but he’s still getting up everyday.”

In addition to the family podcast episodes, each member will have an individual podcast. Despite Ozzy Osbourne’s health-related difficulties, he will kick off the first individual podcast, with his longtime friend Billy Morrison. They touch on topics from food to Black Sabbath days and even on aliens, a popular subject choice for Ozzy.

Kelly will be hosting, The Gay, The Bitch and The Wardrobe. Jack is set to present his podcast on all things paranormal and Sharon will be discussing all the hot gossip and trends in her pop culture podcast.

Family podcasts will indulge their audiences with guest stars including  Melissa Rivers (Joan River’s Daughter), Adam Corolla, and Margaret Cho.

The Cure’s most recent record is the haunting 4:13 Dream, their 13th studio album that was released back in 2008. With eleven years since their last record, The Cure delayed their latest release until they had a body of work that exceeded their own impeccable standards. Containing songs like Freakshow, Siren Song and Underneath the Stars, naturally, The Cure was hesitant to put out the follow up to the largely successful 4:13 Dream.

Chatting to Classic Pop magazine, O’Donnell disclosed some sought-after details surrounding the band’s decade-long hiatus. O’Donnell stated: “Four years ago, I said to Robert ‘We have to make one more record, and it has to be the most intense, saddest, most dramatic and most emotional record we’ve ever made, and then we can just walk away from it. Listening to the demos, it is that record. I think everybody will be happy with it.” 

O’Donnell also meditated upon how having a break from music actually heightened the pressure to produce the otherwordly record they wanted. O’Donnell stated thoughtfully: “The problem is, it’s 12 years since the last album so it becomes precious.” There is an internal competition alongside their classic discography also: “When you’ve got a back catalogue like The Cure, it’s a lot to live up to. Robert has said, ‘If The Cure says any more, it had better be important and it better be good!”

Fantastically, The Cure’s upcoming record is not the only confirmed project fans can look forward to hearing. Chatting backstage at the NME Awards earlier this year, Robert Smith confirmed that “there are only really two new albums”, referring to the reported third album as “just an hour of noise.” Speaking on the mysterious upcoming project, Robert Smit said: “The first one will definitely be out. We’re just wrapping it up now, it’s going to be mixed. Until it’s out, no one would believe me. I look forward to it coming out, more than anybody else – trust me.”

Starr has recruited some of music’s generational giants for the benefit, including American musician Sheryl Crow, singer-songwriter Ben Harper, and none other than longtime friend and Beatles bandmate, Sir Paul McCartney.

The fundraiser will also include previously unseen performance footage of Ringo and Paul during the height of The Beatles era, as well as exclusive at-home performances from the stellar lineup. Famed for enlisting amazing lineups year after year, the 2019 ‘Peace and Love’ included David Lynch, Nils Lofgren and Benmont Tench.

Divided between four vital charities, donations from the Livestream fundraiser will be split between Black Lives Matter Global Network, WaterAid, The David Lynch Foundation, and MusiCares. Starr also showed his support towards the Black Lives Matter movement, recently writing on his official twitter page: “The Beatles always stood for equal rights and justice, and I’ve never stopped working for peace & love ever since. #BlackLivesMatter, #PeaceIsPossible, I send my peace love & continuous support to everyone marching and speaking up for justice & a better world” 

This is not the first birthday gig the Beatles bandmate has hosted: for the past 12 years, Starr has orchestrated the world-famous ‘Peace and Love’ event in his adopted city of Los Angeles, California. Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, this year’s installment of ‘Peace and Love’ marks the first at-home Livestream of the famous celebration.

In the wake of his milestone birthday, the British superstar took to Instagram today with news of the Livestream fundraiser to 846,000 overjoyed followers. The post featured a video of Starr being photographed and posing with his classic peace signs stance. Starr was also displayed repping various ‘Peace and Love’ branded face masks, the video itself conveying colourful cartoon animations reminiscent of 1960’s psychedelia.

In the short video, Starr relayed his reasoning behind altering the 2020 installment of ‘Peace and Love’ to an at-home Livestream. Starr delivered a positive message about the event to fans worldwide: “At 12 noon, July 7th, 2020, you go ‘Peace and Love’. ‘Peace and Love’. That’s all I ask. Wherever you are; on a bus, down the mine, in a spaceship, in a rocket” 

The already popular post was met with a delightful response from Starr’s giant Instagram following, receiving over 72,000 likes in just one day. The post was accompanied by the following caption: “Ringo’s Birthday Update! Ringo’s 80th birthday is just a week away! Join him in spreading a global wave of Peace & Love at noon your time on 7/7!” 

What’s My Name, the 20th studio album and latest record from Ringo Starr, was released last year and is available on streaming platforms everywhere.

It has been launched by the team behind Absolute Radio and cuts out literally all American hip-hop, European pop and any other non-UK music artists.

The station has a specific target audience of 40-to-54 year-olds and will feature the likes of Tom Odell, Jake Bugg and Biffy Clyro. It was promised that there will be no DJ talking, instead there would just be songs requested by the listeners.

“We have conducted a huge amount of research and the feedback confirmed that there is a massive gap in the radio for a new national station that promotes the very best of British music,” said Donnach O’Driscoll for the Guardian.

The new station follows the same model as Jack FM, which is popular in the US, where listeners pick from thousands of songs on the station’s app, which then enter its daily playlist according to whichever songs are most popularly picked.

Ian Walker, co-CEO said: “Britain has been at the forefront of groundbreaking music for over six decades. Union JACK will lead the way in celebrating this rich heritage, playing the greatest UK music and also discovering and supporting British new talent.”
