And now is the chance for us all to relive it. Sixteen tracks from the performance will be released on CD, vinyl, cassette and available for streaming from May 27^th via Warner Records. Gallagher’s obviously very excited, as he usually is for any project with his name on it. He said “So here it is, the gig they said we could never pull off! As we were in lockdown, bored and depressed, rock ‘n’ roll came to save the day once again …. It was a top night and a top gig and it’s captured here on record for you to all enjoy.”

His third studio album, C’MON YOU KNOW, is out the same day (May 27^th), and you can listen to one of the new singles “Everything’s Electric“ (co-written with Foo Fighter’s Dave Grohl) below. Aside from all this, he’s even been winning some awards lately. He won at the BandLab NME Awards for Music Moment of the Year, winning for a free gig last year in London’s O2 Arena, playing for NHS workers. You can read more about this here.

Fender’s had a good week of it so far. Last Wednesday he bagged two of the most prized awards at the BandLab NME Awards, with the modestly titled Best Album in the World and Best Album by a UK Artist going to him, beating the likes of Little Simz, Halsey and Tyler, the Creator.

To be fair to him, he was more gracious about it than the award title suggests, admitting that he thought Little Simz should have won. Being interviewed at the time, Fender said that “I mean, it’s a bit too far really. It’s not the best album in the world: it was a good ‘un! I thought Little Simz was a little bit better, to be honest. She should have had the award. But, we’re here anyway, and we’ll take it. Thank you very much!“

The BandLab NME Awards aren’t the only people he’s attracting attention from either. Brian Limmond (AKA Limmy) was reportedly “over the moon“ after Fender name-dropped the Scottish comedian, quoting his version of the Star Wars theme (with lyrics) at the awards ceremony. He said that Limmond “has powered our lives”.

And fans of the popular web series Chicken Shop Date may be in for a surprise soon enough, what with its creator (Amelia Dimoldenberg) expressing her interest in getting Fender involved, saying “I really want to get him on my show Chicken Shop Date …. So I want to hang out with him and persuade him to go on a date with me…. I feel like [the BandLab NME Awards] is the perfect place to spot new dates, so I’m super-excited.“
