Attention. Attention.

All hands to the pump! Download have just announced their 2024 day tickets as well as the final remaining weekend tickets.

Day tickets for this year’s Download Festival have just literally gone on sale.

Along with the remaining weekend passes, the Donnington Park festival has now launched what is ostensibly a limited run of day tickets ahead of June.

So whether it’s Fall Out Boy that whets your whistle on Saturday’s, or if it’s Friday’s showing of the stellar Queens Of The Stone age that gets your focus, or if you’re after catching Avenged Sevenfold on Sunday you can, quite literally, take your pick—for now.

Naturally, there is plenty to pick from beyond the headliners. QOTSA day will feature the likes of Royal Blood, Polyphia, Bad Omens, Mr. Bungle and even a surprise Avalance Stage headline set from Busted. On Saturday, meanwhile, Fall Out Boy will be joined on the Apex Stage by The Offspring, Enter Shikari, BABYMETAL and more, while elsewhere that day will include While She Sleeps, Tom Morello, Billy Talent and Holding Absence. Then, there’s one massive party before A7X on the Sunday – with Bowling For Soup, Sum 41 and Limp Bizkit all getting things nice and warmed up for the Huntington Beach metallers. On the other stages you can catch fellow heavyweights like Machine Head, Corey Taylor and The Used.

Download Festival is a rock festival created by Terrance Gough, held annually at the Donington Park motorsport circuit in Leicestershire, England (since 2003); in Paris, France (since 2016); at Parramatta Park, Sydney (since 2019); Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne (since 2018) and at the Hockenheimring in Baden-Württemberg, Germany (since 2022).

Download at Donington is the most popular and has hosted some of the biggest names, including Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Slipknot, Metallica, Linkin Park, Korn, Soundgarden, Motörhead, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Def Leppard, Kiss, Judas Priest, Rammstein, Status Quo, Mötley Crüe, Journey, ZZ Top, Whitesnake, Faith No More and Guns N’ Roses.

But hurry, I’m sure tickets won’t be on sale for long.

Get your Download Festival 2024 tickets now.

49-year-old shockrocker Marilyn Manson was performing at the Spanish version of Download Festival in Madrid, when he got fans to join him up on stage and made a bizarre request.

Manson was performing ahead of Avenge Sevenfold, who were the headliner for the night, when the crowd allegedly got impatient. According to a reddit user who was present, the audience spent the first 30 minutes of Manson’s set booing and encouraging him to exit the stage, resulting in the artist pulling a group of fans up on stage.

Many of those chosen were fans of Manson himself, but one was wearing an Avenge Sevenfold shirt, which Manson insisted he remove when the fan went in for a hug. Instead, he insisted the fan cover himself with a Peruvian flag that was also brought onstage, which he eventually did. When he finally agreed the crowd cheered along and encouraged him, despite jeering Manson out of admiration for Avenge Sevenfold just minutes earlier .

The event came just a few days after Marilyn released his his first single since “Heaven Upside Down”, his tenth studio album which was released in October of 2017. His newest single is an industrial take on “Cry Little Sister”, the song popularised due to its use in the vampire flick Lost Boys.

Police in the Midlands have launched an investigation into an alleged sexual assault of a woman and last weekend’s Download Festival. The incident is believed to have occurred in the early hours of Monday morning, and a 21-year -old man from Derbyshire has been arrested connection to the incident.

Per Loudersound, the alleged assault took place between 12.45am and 3.30am in a grassed area at the top of Car Park C, which is the car park on the steep slope at the site.

The as-yet-unnamed man has since been released under investigation, while the police continue their work around the case, with feststival-goers reporting that several tents were cordoned off at the site during Monday morning, with forensic officers also sighted at the Donnington festival.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “The victim is being supported by specialist officers while inquiries into the incident are carried out.”, whilst also urging anyone with any knowledge or information of the incident to come forward.

Those in charge of the festival- which was headlined by Avenged Sevenfold, Ozzy Osbourne, and a reformed Guns N’ Roses- have also confirmed that they are working with the police to get to the bottom of the incident.

This grim news comes in tandem with a poll by the Press Association, that some 22% of all British festival attendees have received some form of unwanted sexual behaviour, with around 30% of women facing this, and shockingly 43% of women under 40.

Specifically, the most common forms of unwanted sexual behaviour experienced by respondents came in the form of forceful dancing and sexual verbal harassment. Another eleven percent of women had experienced sexual assault while they were conscious, in contrast to three per cent of men. Four percent of women also said they faced a sexual assault while unconscious or asleep, compared to two per cent of men.

Undoubtedly indicative of a huge, widespread problem with all British festivals, Tracey Wise, founder of campaign group Safe Gigs For Women, said: “We have struggled to find anyone with any definite statistics on this before now.

“It gives us something to show to festival organisers so we can say ‘you need to take this on board.”

Californian metal titans Avenged Sevenfold have announced their imminent return to UK shores next year. The announcement follows the recent, surprise release of their seventh album The Stage, which was marked simultaneously by a unique, 360 degrees, virtual reality live performance, played on top of Capitol Records’ building in Los Angeles.

The release of The Stage is the band’s first release on Capitol, as well as their first time working with the likes of Joe Barresi, who has previously worked with heavyweights like Queens of the Stone Age, and Tool.

Lyrically and thematically, The Stage shows a growth in both scope and ambition, with the eleven track album linked by themes of artificial intelligence, and the acceleration of technology’s expansion, for better and for worse.

The band have cited the works of Elon Musk and Carl Sagan as key influences on the album. The album’s closing track is 15 minutes long, and features a spoken word section from famed astrophysicist Neil Degrasse Tyson, who wrote his segment specifically for the album.

The last time Avenged Sevenfold visited the UK was in 2013, in support of their last album, Hail to the King, which culminated in the band’s first ever headline set at Download Festival in 2014. Next year’s tour begins on January 7, at Dublin’s 3 Arena, and concludes with two massive night’s at London’s O2 Arena. On the tour, the band will be supported by Swedish metal veterans In Flames, and Simon and Garfunkel tribute act Disturbed. The full list of dates can be found below, and tickets can be bought here.

January 2017 marks Avenged Sevenfold’s new, massive UK arena tour which begins in Glasgow, joined by special guests Disturbed and in Flames. Below are the confirmed dates:

15/1 – Sheffield – Sheffield Arena
16/1 – Manchester – Manchester Arena
18/1 – Nottingham – Nottingham Motorpoint Arena
19/1 – Cardiff – Cardiff Motorpoint Arena
21/1 – London – O2 Arena

Avenged Sevenfold are presently in the middle of their tour of USA festivals. Formed in 1999, the heavy metal band from Huntingdon Beach, California are in the process of producing their seventh studio album, their first since Hail to the King back in 2013.

Since 2006, Avenged Sevenfold (or A7X as they are also known) have been nominated for, and have received many awards including winning Best International Band in the 2014 Golden God Awards.

Influenced by the likes of Guns N Roses, Megadeth, Metallica, Black Sabbath, and The Rolling Stones – to name just a few – some critics have said they are not metal enough. In response, vocalist M Shadows said:

“we play music for the sake of music, not so that we can be labeled a metal band. That’s like telling us we aren’t punk enough. Who cares?”

UK fans will get to decide for themselves in January as A7X embark on their arena tour, showing off their unique wave of heavy metal. Watch ‘Hail to the King’ below.

Orange Country metallers Avenged Sevenfold, Californian rockers Linkin Park and classic rock Gods Aerosmith have been revealed as the three headliners for rock festival Download, set to take place on the weekend of the 13th of June next year.

Earlier this year Avenged Sevenfold achieved their first UK number on album with Hail To The King, which was also the first record made without the use of drumming from their late drummer, Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan, who passed away in December of 2009. Their headline slot will also be their first at the Donington festival with new full time drummer Arin Ilejay, who was confirmed as their new member in May this year. It will be their first appearance at the festival since their 2011 appearance, where they played second headline to recently reformed alt metallers System of a Down.

Linkin Park are set to play the festival for the first time since they headlined main stage in 2011, joining a select group of artists to have headlined the festival four times, having previously had headline slots in addition to the 2011 set in 2004 and 2007. They have recently released a remix album Recharged with plans to release a new album during 2014. As a special treat for fans they will be playing their much loved debut album Hybrid Theory in full, something which is sure to please those who have stuck by them during their careers.

Closing the festival on the Sunday will be The Bad Boys from Boston themselves, legendary hard rockers Aerosmith. Despite the fact that they are all into their 60s now, Steven Tyler and co are showing no sign of slowing down having released their fifteenth studio album Music From Another Dimension! in November of last year. It marks the return to Download for the group as well, having previously closed the festival in 2010.

Acting as direct support to Avenged Sevenfold on the Friday will be shock rocker Rob Zombie, set to return to the festival having headlined the second stage in 2011, while pop rockers Fallout Boy will be the second headliner on the Saturday behind Linkin Park. Supporting Aerosmith on the Sunday will be fellow hard rockers Alter Bridge, who continue to go from strength to strength and will surely headline in years to come. With many more names to be announced in the coming months, it’s not a bad start to the biggest rock festival in the UK. Weekend tickets are still available starting from £185 for a weekend ticket, and more information can be found at the official Download festival here. http://www.downloadfestival.co.uk/
