In an Instagram post, the British-Peruvian artist – otherwise known as Luis Felber – described the anticipated track as “a guaranteed spring jam”, which serves as the second preview of forthcoming album ‘EXPERIENCE’, following the previous taster ‘Always The Girls’, released earlier last month.

Expected to be released in late 2025, ‘EXPERIENCE’ will be Felber’s first full-length album since 2022’s debut ‘Presence’. Although fans have yet to hear an audio sample from new single ‘Hilarious In Love’, they can look forward to the textured soft pop elements of ‘Always The Girls’ – an addictive track that marries alternative rock and orchestral sounds, cementing Attawalpa as a unique voice in the UK music scene. Reflecting on the themes of the upcoming album, Felber explained “It’s about acknowledging all that lived experience, good and bad. But it’s equally about the experience of playing with this band. Attawalpa started as a sort of solo project, with me and producer/bassist/co-conspirator Matt Allchin, but now it’s grown into this 6-piece ‘family’, where everyone’s creative, and we all have each other’s backs.”

‘Always The Girls’ is the multi-instrumentalist’s first musical effort of 2025, accompanied by a music video, directed by long-time collaborator Emma Chitty. It follows a somewhat disorientated Felber through various London locations, mainly shot in the underground tunnels. In the track’s description, he said: “‘Always The Girls’ is a song born around my embarrassment/guilt about being a man. The general lack of emotional wisdom that comes with that coupled with my observations of being calmer and happier around feminine energy. It’s a celebration of our mothers.” Felber also recently joined Sadie Ingan on her podcast ‘Real Talk with Sadie’ March 4 to discuss some creative decisions behind the video, stating that the London Underground represents the multi-dimensionality of women, and how through birth and intimate experiences, they “can take us to other places.”

A session musician for much of his career, 38-year old Luis Felber, notably co-founder of record label Young Turks, has worked with various high-profile names over the years, including Mick Jagger, Jamie T and Ben Bones, before finding his own voice through music project Attawalpa in 2020. Alongside making the finishing touches on his sophomore album, Felber has also worked as co-creator, co-writer and executive music producer on the incoming Netflix series, Too Much – the latest creation from his partner, actress and producer Lena Dunham.
