Burial just released his new single Chemz to all streaming platforms. The track is 12 minutes longs and is Burial’s first solo project of 2020, coming off his 2019 compilation release of Tunes 2011 to 2019 which was a great success for the artist. He just released the critically acclaimed double record His Rope and Her Revolution for streaming with Thom Yorke and Four Tet, which had previously only been released in physical form as a double vinyl.

The British artist has also announced that Chemz will be released in a similar double fashion with another single called Dolphinz. The double tracks will be released together in physical form April 2nd, 2021. Burial has spent most of his time this year collaboration with other artists, most recently with Four Tet, but shortly before that he had worked with Charles Webster and Ingrid Chavez on the new track The Spell, for which he is credited for mixing.

Due to safety concerns surrounding the global health crisis, Covid-19, Burial has been unable to perform or plan concerts and shows for his compilation release. It is unknown whether these two tracks will be included with an album or with upcoming gigs. Right now, Burial only has one show scheduled in the UK in 2021, playing the Doomsday Festival in Brighton on June 12th.

Yesterday, Burial released a video on Youtube for the single Chemz, this is not a lyric video or a music video, it appears it is just another platform to stream the track. The track is in a club-banger style with a fast beat, instrumentation and a repetitive chorus. Chemz is a far cry from the recently released softer tracks His Rope or Her Revolution. Considering Burial’s tendency to mirror double tracks off one another it is likely that Dolphinz will also be a dance mix.

Burial’s new track Chemz is available now. The coming EP, which will feature the single Dolphinz will be released April 2nd, 2021 to all streaming platforms and to physical release. The latest collaboration with Thom Yorke and Four Tet is officially available for streaming everywhere now and pre-ordering tickets for Burials upcoming festival concert are available now.
