The #merky team is comprised of a record label, music management, book publishing, a clothing brand and scholarship scheme. Nile Rodgers went away with the career-best award for Artists’ Artist, with the producer collecting his prize from Blur’s Alex James and FAC’s Artist In Residence, David Rowntree.

After receiving the award, Stormzy declared, “my team is everything”, calling them a “family” and a “powerhouse.”

Sam Fender and his manager Owain Davies collected the Fanfair Award for ‘Outstanding Contribution To Live Music’, Andy Varley, the founder of Insanity Group was awarded the ‘Entrepreneur Award’, and Glaswegian singer and comedian Lewis Capaldi t0ok home ‘Artist of the Year’.

Recently, Stormzy became the latest face on the front of Time Magazine. Responding through his Instagram, the rapper described it as “One of my absolute proudest moments,”. 

He went on to say, “I am deeply flawed and still learning how to be a man and still figuring out how to grow into the person I need to be but within all of that confusion and all the juggling of being a human and trying to be a superhuman – I have purpose. And my purpose has lead me here. Big Mike for TIME ya na.”
