The alleged assault took place at the Tape nightclub in Mayfair, London. It is claimed that Brown, 36, attacked music producer Abe Diaw with a bottle in February 2023.

Diaw claimed that he was hit over the head with a bottle before being punched and kicked as he lay on the floor. He was then taken to hospital after his knee collapsed and needed crutches after being discharged.

Brown is yet to enter a plea after appearing in Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Friday (May 16), where he was told that the case will be moved to Southwark Crown Court in London with the next hearing being set for June 13.

The ‘Beautiful People’ singer was about to embark on a European and UK tour next month, with the first show scheduled for Amsterdam on 8 June before heading back to the UK. He was due to perform in Manchester, Cardiff, London, Birmingham and Glasgow.

Whether these shows take place is now up in the air after this recent arrest. His presence in the UK was pointed out to the Met Police by The Sun.

The outlet became aware that the singer had flew into Manchester Airport on a private jet, when they decided to ask the police whether Brown was under arrest. This led to Met detectives travelling to Manchester and arresting the 36 year old at The Lowry Hotel in Salford at 2am.

A Met spokesman told BBC News details of the situation, saying: “A 36-year old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday 15 May on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

“He has been taken into custody where he remains. The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on 19 February 2023.

“The investigation is being led by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit.”

After Brown’s arrest, a second man has now been charged with GBH linking to the same incident. 38-year old rapper Omololu Akinlolu, better know by his stage name HoodyBaby, was reprimanded on Saturday (May 17) for his involvement in the alleged attack on Abe Diaw.

Brown and Akinlolu will now remain in custody until they appear for a plea and trial preparation in London on 13 June.

This does not mark the first time Brown has faced legal troubles due to violence, after he was famously charged with felony assault following a domestic violence incident with then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.

Fans of the R&B singer will be hoping this situation gets cleared up quickly if they wish to see him play in the UK this summer, although the chances now look slim.

Ryan was found guilty of being drunk on an aircraft, racially aggravated common assault by beating, and behaving in an abusive way towards the cabin crew member.

As reported by The Guardian, the Blue member told Leah Gordon, a female member of the aircraft’s cabin crew he wanted her “chocolate children” on a British Airways flight from Glasgow to London. Gordon told the judge of this case that Ryan had called her “beautiful”, stating “He was making comments about my complexion, ‘you’re my chocolate darling, my chocolate cookie’ and ‘I’m going to have your chocolate children'”.

After Gordon told the singer to “stay away” from her, he reportedly grabbed both her wrists before some passengers intervened.

The ‘All Rise’ singer reportedly asked for his seat to be upgraded from economy to business class, however, due to the flight being sold out this was not possible. According to BBC News, another flight attendant Jade Smith told the court that “He told me he had a problem, that he was being harassed by other passengers, that he was famous and asked did I know who he was … He was angry, saying he was a gold card holder and that he needed to be moved because of this.”

Ryan received a 12-month prison sentence for the assault by Judge Nicholas Wood. Wood also ordered Ryan to pay £2500 in compensation to victim Leah Gordon, £750 to Jade Smith and £510 in costs.

Ryan has high-functioning autistic spectrum disorder, and underwent psychological assessments following his arrest. After viewing the results of these assessments, Judge Nicholas Wood declared that Ryan did not pose an ongoing risk to the public. Wood agreed to suspend the jail term for the next 18 months.

According to Sky News, Ealing Magistrates’ Court were informed that Ryan was “slurring his words and staggering around” after drinking an entire bottle of port before his flight on July 31st 2022. Shortly after, Ryan was refused more alcohol on the plane and told to return to his seat, this is when the singer made comments about the flight attendant’s looks.

The Blue pop star confessed to drinking in the British Airways lounge after his flight was delayed, however he claims to have no memory of the incident.

The rapper was reportedly arrested in Kenya following after fleeing the UK in 2019, the rapper was caught alongside fellow Active gxng member s wavey and extradited to the UK for their alleged role in the murder of Alex smith in 2019. 3 other men have been convicted for this murder with 2 of the suspects being handed 21-year sentences for sitting in the car at the time of the murder with the killers being believed to have fled the country.

Baylee Curran said that she was at the US singer’s home for a music video ‘go-see’ or audition, and she was chased out of the house and had to hide under a nearby car with a friend, after Brown had pointed a gun in her face.

A search warrant was obtained by the police on Tuesday and law enforcement officials spent a lengthy 11 hour ‘stand-off’ with Brown. During which, Brown posted a series of videos on Instagram ranting about police harassment. According to TMZ Brown threw a duffel bag out of a window, taunting the police, saying “come and get me”. There have been claims that the duffel bag had drugs inside.

Brown later posted messages on social media on Tuesday morning declaring his innocence and denying reports that he barricaded himself in his ‘‘palace.’’

‘‘Y’all gonna stop playing with me like I’m the villain out here, like I’m going crazy,’’ he said in one Instagram video, waving a cigarette and looking at the camera. ‘‘When you get the warrant or whatever you need to do, you’re going to walk right up in here and you’re going to see nothing. You idiots.’’ Those videos have now been deleted.

LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division detectives entered Brown’s property with a warrant 10 hours later at around 1pm and he emerged at around 2.43pm for a very brief amount of time. Brown was then arrested, near 5pm among the view of several news helicopters that swirled overhead and dozens of camera crews that gathered at the bottom of Brown’s LA hilltop estate.

Mark Geragos, Brown’s attorney, arrived at the house before police carried out the search. There’s claims that this was to get Brown to cooperate. “He’s trying to help talk some sense into [Chris],” a law enforcement source told E! News.

Chris Brown was released from jail later on Tuesday, after posting a $250,000 bail even though a felony assault with a deadly weapon conviction is meant to carry a sentence of four years in county jail, along with a $10,000 fine.

Brown’s accuser, Baylee Curran claims to be the 2016 Miss California Regional title holder, but CNN confirmed that she was stripped of her title in July.

This is also not the first time Brown has been in trouble with the police. Back in 2009, he was convicted of assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna, which led to six years of probation. Also, in 2013, he hit a man outside a hotel in Washington DC and was charged with misdemeanor assault. Brown was ordered to go to a rehabilitation centre as a result, but was then kicked out of the facility for breaking its rules. After completing a series of anger management classes, Brown was also later accused of throwing a brick at his mother’s car.
