RAYE has apologised to fans who bought the vinyl edition of her latest album, ‘This Music May Contain Hope’, after revealing that the record was pressed before the final mix was completed. She said the vinyl is “a first edition” and stressed that it is “not a fraudulent album,” but acknowledged that the digital versions of some songs are different.

The apology came during an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, where RAYE discussed the difficult process of finishing the album. She said she wanted listeners to understand that the vinyl reflects an earlier stage of the project, and that she had tried her best to get the record right.

RAYE’s rise has been marked by a series of major milestones. She broke records at the BRIT Awards in 2024 after winning six trophies in one night, a moment that cemented her status as one of British pop’s leading names. The momentum continued into 2026, with an earth-shattering performance at The Brits, debuting her latest album with the track ‘Nightingale Lane’.

Her recent single ‘Where Is My Husband!’ also added to that success, becoming one of her strongest commercial moments of the year. The track was released in September 2025, went Silver in the UK within weeks, and later reached Platinum, showing that her audience continues to grow beyond the critics’ approval.

According to reports, the issue affects the vinyl format rather than the digital release. The artist’s comments have sparked attention because the album was presented as a major creative statement, with RAYE taking a central role in its making.

In her remarks, RAYE described the process of completing the record as “beautiful” but “agonising,” suggesting the final stages of the album’s production were especially demanding. Her apology was directed at fans who had purchased the vinyl expecting it to match the later digital versions.

That makes the vinyl issue particularly frustrating for both the artist and her fans. Physical formats remain an important part of RAYE’s release strategy, especially for collectors who value the artwork, packaging and exclusivity that come with special editions. For many listeners, buying the vinyl is about more than just owning the music; it is a way of supporting the artist directly.

By addressing the problem openly, she has tried to reassure fans that the issue was unintentional and that the album’s final form is still available in digital and other formats. Even so, the incident is a reminder of how closely fans follow every detail of a major release.

You can stream ‘This Music May Contain Hope’ here.

Oasis fans have been rejoicing as the bands entire back catalogue is now available in Spatial Audio.

Apple Music listeners will be able to experience all 12 Oasis albums in Spatial Audio, all the way from ‘Definitely Maybe’ to ‘Dig Out Your Soul’, and even the Britpop icons two live albums, including the legendary 1996 Knebworth gig.

Spatial Audio offers an authentic listening experience to fans – a technology that creates a three-dimensional listening experience by mimicking how we hear sounds in real life.

Fans have already taken to social media to share their excitement at the new releases and to praise the production.

One reddit user, ‘mdzkelduncol’, pointed out the differences to the original recordings, saying: “You can hear things that before were not clear. Things like the claps and the background vocals are much clearer.”

Grammy-award winning producer and engineer Ryan Hewitt is responsible for the atmospheric new mixes. In a project which spanned 18 months, Hewitt told Apple Music’s The Matt Wilkinson Show that he had to work his way through the bands full discography, and even had to rescue numerous tracks from their original media (hard drives, tapes etc.) .

Explaining just how much of a challenge it was, Hewitt said on the podcast: “Honouring the original mixes, and the original intention of the sound of these records, which are so loud and explosive, and transferring that to Dolby Atmos was one of the greatest challenges of my career.

“These records sounded big in the first place, and now they sound even bigger on Apple Music in Spatial Audio while honouring the original spirit of the recordings.”

Fans flooded to reddit to praise the new mixes. One user pointed out the production quality, saying: “I’m halfway through SOTSOG (4th album) and can certainly say it brings a new perspective to the songs. Good and varied placing of instruments, nice switches of focus/power from channel to channel.”

On Roll With It. Wow. The song moves around you.” and another saying: “Some Might Say outro has clearer vocals and guitar, which sounds kinda nice.”

The release of these new mixes comes as a welcome coincidence as it coincides very closely to the Manchester bands first tour in 15 years.

The Gallagher brothers have 41 dates scheduled for the Oasis Live ’25 tour and kick things off in less than two months in Cardiff on July 4.

The reunion hasn’t been drama free though, in true Gallagher style. After rows over the use of ‘dynamic pricing’ for tickets, it has since been revealed that over £2 million has been lost in fake ticket scams for the tour.

However, on a more positive note, former Oasis drummer Tony McCarroll shared a heartfelt message to the band ahead of their record-breaking reunion this summer. Check out what he had to say here.

FKA Twigs has announced the launch of a new Apple Music radio show delving into the creative process behind her newest album ‘EUSEXUA’.

Premiering February 3 on Apple Music Club, ‘EUSEXUA WORLD’ will see Twigs take her listeners on a journey, exploring her creative process and the diverse influences, both musical and artistic, that have shaped her latest release. Episodes will air bi-weekly and feature DJ mixes from artists who inspired the album, such as techno powerhouse Dr. Rubinstein, LSDXOXO and Earthearter – both prominent artists in queer experimentalism – as well as many more.

In the opening episode, collaborator and co-producer of ‘EUSEXUA’, Koreless, joins the British-born singer to discuss early music influences in his own artistry.

“I think that when artists talk about their inspiration, sometimes it can be so literal, it can be another superstar or a show that they’ve seen but for me, inspiration comes in energy and it comes in community and so I think by opening up my fans around the world, the community into the energy that’s been created around this project, hopefully people can understand where I’m coming from more with my message and with the album of ‘EUSEXUA’,” explains Twigs in promotion for the new show.

She adds: “These mixes have been made by some of my favourite artists and producers, my partner, my make-up artist, my hairstylist and more in my inner circle. It’s the music that has inspired the creative world that we have built around the album – from the mood boards for styling to my choreography. ‘EUSEXUA WORLD’ chronicles the journey to create ‘EUSEXUA’.”

‘EUSEXUA’ marks the third studio album by FKA Twigs, born Tahliah Barnett, and has already been praised by critics as a “cohesive and transcendent artistic experience” since its release January 24. In support of her latest release, Twigs will be embarking on a European tour this March, including two nights in London March 21 & 22. Making her musical debut in 2012, the ‘Cellophane’ singer has asserted herself as one of the UK’s most promising acts in the alternative electro/pop sphere, earning a Mercury Prize nomination in 2014 for her debut album ‘LP1’.

The announcement of ‘EUSEXUA WORLD’ contributes to the excitement surrounding Apple Music Club, a brand new round-the-clock dance and electronic radio station, one of three new stations introduced as part of Apple Music’s radio programming initiative. In addition to FKA Twigs, the platform is set to feature mixes from other artists who aren’t afraid to put their own spin on house music, including Nia Archives, Honey Dijon, and Jamie xx.

Episode 1 of ‘EUSEXUA WORLD’ is available to stream on Apple Music now.

Following the success of last year, Apple Music’s innovative offering for New Years celebrations has returned for the second annual ‘Apple Music Live: NYE’ event. To welcome in 2025 they have enlisted the avant-garde virtuosity of Björk and the gritty lyricism of British Grime Artist Skepta to headline its globally streamed celebrations.

The event kicks off early with a 24 hour radio DJ set which will begin at midnight PST / 8am GMT on Dec. 31, with a 24-hour DJ mix from Justice, John Summit, Rufus Du Sol, and other DJs worldwide.

.@Skepta and @unclewaffffles take #AppleMusicLive to London to ring in the new year. Watch their special performances on December 31st at 11pm GMT, only on Apple Music. https://t.co/KrhNzMXvo1 pic.twitter.com/nSM3T1uSqE

— Apple Music (@AppleMusic) December 18, 2024

The whole thing promises to be a cultural collision, uniting disparate sonic worlds under the auspices of Apple’s meticulously curated playlists.

The event is all anchored by a rare DJ set from Björk, who is known for her ethereal voice and boundary-pushing albums, her foray into DJ-ing is a rarity. It acts as a glimpse into her singular musical mind refracted through curated tracks rather than original compositions. Expect her set to oscillate between the hauntingly experimental and the unexpectedly rhythmic, a sonic journey that only Björk could conceive.

Skepta enters as a pioneer of grime, the genre that gave a voice to London’s streets, he has since ventured into new sonic territories, exploring house music with the same uncompromising energy. Whether delivering razor-sharp lyrics or curating beats that get the crowd moving, Skepta remains a compelling presence. His set promises to be as unpredictable as it is exhilarating—a reflection of his ever-evolving artistry.

The lineup also includes genre-defying artists like Swazi-born, South Africa-based DJ Uncle Waffles, a rising star in the global dance scene, who has become the face of amapiano, the hypnotic South African house subgenre taking over airwaves and dance floors alike. Born in Eswatini and based in South Africa, she exudes an effortless charisma behind the decks, her sets a celebration of rolling baselines, syncopated rhythms, and infectious vocal loops.

Both Skepta and DJ Uncle Waffles’ sets will be video rather than simply radio recordings from London’s The Cause—a venue celebrated for its contributions to dance culture, local nightlife, and mental health initiatives.

Tim Sweeney, has long been a tastemaker through his influential ‘Beats in Space’ radio show. Now, as a cornerstone of Apple Music’s DJ programming, Sweeney bridges the gap between niche dance floor sounds and mainstream accessibility. His sets are an education, seamlessly blending the familiar with the obscure, a testament to his encyclopaedic knowledge of electronic music and fitting for his role.

Last year’s inaugural event featured names like Kaytranada, Peggy Gou, and Honey Dijon, setting the stage for Apple Music to position itself as a leader in the intersection of live music and streaming innovation. It seems that this year’s line up will aim to transcend the humdrum of conventional New Year’s Eve fare. Apple Music hopes to reimagine the celebrations as more than just a concert, positioning itself at the forefront of innovation and connectivity in the streaming era.

In honour of this year’s pride month, Apple Music has teamed up with a collection of LGBTGIA+ artists to create a very special playlist. Entitled George Michael Covered, the playlist was released last week as part of the Apple Music Pride collection. The playlist sees various artists cover some of Michael’s biggest hits, the compilation includes nine covers taken from the singer’s vast back catalogue.

Opening the playlist is “Faith” covered by English indie outfit Pale Waves, the 1987 smash hit is widely regarded as the start of Michael’s long and storied solo career. Next up is “Outside” covered by Olly Alexander’s solo project Years & Years. Originally released in 2006 the track was accompanied by an infamous music video which cemented Michael as a cultural hero. Alexander has spoken on the importance of Michael and the power of his enduring legacy, “One of the things I love most about George Michael was his ability to own his narrative. He was a huge, huge star. I’m sure he struggled with some of the attention and issues that come with worldwide fame, and he still remained so iconic, so true to who he was.”

The singer continued to discuss the impact of the music video for “Outside”, “He still had fun with it. He was always trying new things and taking risks and unashamedly himself. And I take so much inspiration from that … He got arrested in 1998—I think the terminology is ‘soliciting a police officer in a public toilet’—then goes and writes a song about it. And it’s such a banger. Wow! I just think it’s so incredible for him to just own that narrative and really go, ‘Yeah, I like to have sex outside.’ And it’s such a bop.”

The next hit to receive a makeover is the 1996 track “Fastlove”, included within the playlist is a cover by Grammy-nominated singer and producer MNEK. The fourth song within George Michael Covered is” Praying For Time” covered by English singer-songwriter Self Esteem, the track was originally released in 1990 and was taken from the seminal album Listen Without Prejudice Vol 1. Apple Music’s playlist also features celebrated figure Billy Porter, the multi-talented American artist can be heard within his cover of “Monkey”. Originally released in 1988, the track was featured on the iconic album Faith and was the sixth single to be released from the album.

Faith was Michael’s debut solo album and is now a landmark release within popular music, Apple’s playlist also contains the album’s final single “Kissing A Fool”. Originally released in 1987, Apple’s curated collection features a cover by Brooklyn-based artist serpentwithfeet. Michael’s anthem and cherished love song “Careless Whisper” is also included within the playlist and has been covered by 26-year-old singer Tiana Major9. Britain’s Got Talent contender Calum Scott provides a cover of “One More Try”, the third track from Faith to be included within the playlist. The specially created compilation concludes with “Amazing” covered by Jake Shears, best known as the lead singer of pop-rock group Scissor Sisters.

In celebration of the playlist’s release, Apple Music teamed up with Gay Times to host a special party. The event took place on Wednesday 29th June 2022 and was held on the rooftop of London’s The Standard hotel. Those in attendance included guests such as Ella Vaday and Kitty Scott-Claus, stars of RuPaul’s Drag Race and English electro pop artist Girli. The event also included DJ sets from ABSOLUTE and Nimmo and performances by LGBTQIA+ dance troupe Sue Veneers Club.

Along with the specially curated playlist, fans have also been treated to the inclusion of Michael’s back catalogue in Spatial Audio. This is the first time that the singer’s music has been made available in the cutting edge 3d audio technology and is accessible to stream now via Apple Music.

Indie rock band The xx might not have released any new stuff as of recent, but that doesn’t mean its members haven’t been busy elsewhere. Last month Oliver Sim released his first solo single, “Romance With a Memory“, which was followed last week by “Fruit“. Sim had this to say on the release: “Terrifyingly, this is the first song I’ve ever released under my own name, I really hope you all enjoy it.”

On the bright side, despite all this work apart from each other, it doesn’t appear that there’s a rift growing between The xx’s. Sim made sure to mention that he was “still very much in a loving and happy relationship/band with Romy and Jamie”, noting that bandmate Jamie xx actually helped produce the singles. It obviously sparked Jamie’s own solo aspirations with him, in turn, announcing the release of a new single for tomorrow.

Jamie’s new song is reportedly titled “Let’s Do It Again“, and he let his followers know on Instagram that “I had a lot of fun trying this one out at festivals last year. You might recognise it…“.

The band have been content leaving fans wanting for more ever since their acclaimed 2017 album “I See You“, which reached no. 1 on the UK Official Albums Chart. It’s is still their most recent studio album, but there’s hope for more soon. A few clues are in the air, such as a post on their social media last December showing the group working together.

Also, it doesn’t even have to be music that they do together. They’ve already started a new radio show on Apple Music, with instalments once a month. Each episode supposedly has a different member of The xx talking about their inspirations and speaking to guests.

Called Interludes Radio, it began last month with Sim hosting. The band’s official statement advertises it as “An hour of music, guests and sneak peeks of what we’re all up to on our own and together”.

If you want to see any of them live, Jamie xx has some gigs coming up on September 3rd, playing at Forwards Bristol in Clifton Downs. You can get tickets here. Sims also has some solo tour dates coming up in May, including one in London’s Shoreditch Town Hall on the 10th. Otherwise, he’ll also be seen around Europe and America, visiting the likes of Berlin, Paris, Los Angeles and New York. You can get tickets for these dates here from Wednesday 10 am. If you want to access the tour’s pre-sale tomorrow at 10 am, best sign-up before 6 pm tonight using the previous link.

The special collection arrives as part of From Apple Music With Love, an ongoing Christmas countdown series featuring exclusive releases from a number of well-known acts. Some of the artists include Elton John, Nile Rodgers who have recently shared new content via the platform.

The EP is comprised of live versions of tracks from Coldplay’s ninth studio album, Music Of The Spheres, which came out in October and also includes a new rendition of the band’s 2010 single, “Christmas Lights.” You can listen to the EP below.

The dates are scheduled for London’s Wembley Stadium (six nights), Glasgow, Paris, Berlin and other European cities throughout July and August.

They have pledged to cut direct emissions by 50% compared to their recent tours and are planning to use solar installations and kinetic energy at every venue to power a mobile rechargeable show battery as well as plant a tree for every ticket sold.

Chris Martin previously discussed their aims by stating “We’re very conscious that the planet is facing a climate crisis. So we’ve spent the last two years consulting with environmental experts to make this tour as sustainable as possible, and, just as importantly, to harness the tour’s potential to push things forward.” He then continued “We won’t get everything right, but we’re committed to doing everything we can and sharing what we learn. It’s a work in progress and we’re really grateful for the help we’ve had so far. If you’d like to come to a show and sing with us, we’re so excited to see you.”

The Glasgow synth-pop trio Chvrches have come out with a cover of Avril Lavigne’s 2002 hit “I’m With You’” as part of an Apple Music Home Session, alongside a rendition of “California” from their recent album Screen Violence.

Chvrches have had a year packed with music releases; alongside their new album, they have also released an E.P. of remixed versions of the song ‘Good Girls’, a remix of ‘How Not To Drown’ by The Cure’s Robert Smith, and two additional remixes of ‘Good Girls’ and ‘Turning The Bones’ by none other than legendary horror director and composer John Carpenter, known as the mastermind behind classics such as 1978’s Halloween and 1982’s The Thing. In light of this, the group has also recently recorded a cover of ‘Cry Little Sister’ from the 1987 film The Lost Boys. The cover is to be featured in the upcoming Netflix film ‘Nightbooks’.

Beginning in 2011, Chvrches initially had little intention to actually play live, putting out a single entitled “Lies” on Neon Gold Records’ blog site and receiving almost immediate success, with the song even being played on BBC Radio 1. The group would release their debut album The Bones Of What You Believe two years later, following a successful slew of single releases and TV performances, both in the UK and in North America.

Chvrches’ recent Apple Music Home Session sees them take an entirely different approach to their own music; instead of thumping electronic drums and silky synth melodies, they have opted for a stripped-down set-up, featuring an acoustic guitar, a piano, and the satisfying sound of a brushed drumkit. It may seem out of the blue to some that Chvrches would choose to cover Avril Lavigne, however singer Lauren Mayberry referred to the song as: “A classic banger-ballad of our times” according to NME.

The session is of course exclusive to Apple Music, and can be listened to down below, or at this link.

Within Sir John’s show, Rocket Hour, the songstress was interviewed regarding her new album entitled The Art of Losing released 12th March 2021. The new material sees the talented singer collaborate with friend and fellow musician James Dean Bradfield, best known as the frontman for legendary British rock band Manic Street Preachers. The band began their musical partnership with The Anchoress in July 2016, the singer provided support and also duetted with the band within the Eden Project, an education and socially focused botanical garden and venue located in Cornwall. The musical acts would again perform with each other the following year and again in October of the same year, they performed a duet of “Little Baby Nothing” at the Q Awards. She would then join the band on their 2018 album Resistance Is Futile, the album features a duet with the pair entitled “Dylan & Caitlin”. Band-member Nicky Wire has once stated that the intentions for the song were inspired by Sir John’s duet with Kiki Dee, “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart”.

Born as Catherine Anne Davies, The Anchoress described how the pair initially collaborated on the track “The Exchange” whilst expressing her excitement to work with her musical hero. “We are good friends now, yeah. I mean, I grew up just completely idolising the band. So for me, it was a bit of a dream come true to duet on their record, their last album. And then, I thought, “Well, I’ll ask him if he’ll return the favour on mine,” which he dutifully did. I don’t know if it was under duress. But yeah, it was amazing to hear that song back, something that I’d written, and then hear our voices together, when I’d grown up singing along to Manic records since I was 12 years old. So it was just, yeah, mad, absolutely mad.”

The Art of Losing was released via indie record label Kscope, the label is focused on the alternative and progressive rock genres and have a roster full of great acts. The album was written and self-produced by Davies, the singer also talked to Sir John concerning the producing process. “I wrote and produced the entire thing myself in the studio here, that you can see. So I had that luxury of not having an A&R person over my shoulder saying, “Oh, we need a couple more tunes like this.” So it is completely an artistic indulgence. And how often do you get to do that anymore?”

The singer’s new album can be described as filmic, with lyrics full of personal subject matter describing emotions such as grief and anger resulting in a storytelling lyrical context. Davies discussed this musical quality with Sir John, “I mean, I was really lucky to get to do a kind of expanded three-CD edition. And it’s got these beautiful alternative images, very David Lynch inspired. It’s almost like there is a kind of filmic quality, I guess, to the album. And it takes the listener on a journey. I’m desperate to play, but equally, we’ve got to be careful about playing live. And it’s just unknown at the moment, isn’t it? I think we’re all in the same boat.”

Within the interview, Sir John discussed gender roles within the music industry and stated how female singers and performers were leading the way. The “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” singer stated “That Female Artists ‘Are Doing All The Good Work’…I can see the vision in the songs, a bit like Rina Sawayama. The female artists at the moment are doing all the good work. The boys are lagging really, really behind… It’s all about the females at the moment, as far as I’m concerned.” Listen to the episode here.
