Robbie Williams’ recent documentary “Robbie Williams” on Netflix has sparked curiosity among viewers, particularly regarding his feud with former bandmate Gary Barlow and the current state of their relationship. As many may recall, Robbie and Gary were both members of the immensely popular ’90s pop group, Take That, hailing from Manchester.

Robbie, being the youngest and most rebellious member, joined the band at the tender age of 16, while Gary, who was positioned as the group’s leader, was a few years older at 19. In the docu-series, Robbie reflects on his time in the band and reveals a sense of rivalry between himself and Gary.

During interviews for the show, Robbie candidly expressed his dislike for Gary, primarily because he believed Gary had everything and the successful career that he himself desired. Robbie admitted to feeling vengeful and wanting to make Gary pay for his perceived advantages.

Robbie said, “I disliked Gary the most because he was the one that was supposed to have the everything, and the career. I wanted to make him pay. I was vengeful.”

Despite Robbie’s departure from Take That after just five years, which left fans devastated, the band split the following year. Robbie embarked on his solo career in 1996, initially achieving moderate success with a few singles entering the charts. However, it was his collaboration with songwriter and producer Guy Chambers, along with the release of the hit song “Angels,” that truly propelled his music career to new heights.

In the documentary featuring one of Robbie’s earlier solo performances, archive footage captures him taunting the audience and directing his hostility towards Gary. He said,“I’m sorry that I treated Gary like that. You can understand why a younger me and a younger you would bump heads, I’d be like, ‘It’s my game’, and you’d be like, ‘No, it’s my game… it’s my ball’.”

Williams revealed that he did not seek Barlow’s input during any phase of the documentary’s creation. Williams clarified that he was not obligated to do so by law. Although the two had previously discussed the concept of a biopic, Williams admitted that their conversations on the topic were awkward. Robbie said, “Legally I didn’t have to. I’ve had to have chats there, yeah, and they are uncomfortable.”

Take That appeared to have a clear leader in Gary Barlow, with all attention and management focused on him. As a youth, I couldn’t help but feel envious and resentful towards him. Robbie said “And it seemed like there was one person being managed in Take That, and it was Gary Barlow. It was all geared around him and as a young person, I would’ve been jealous of that. I suppose a lot of me resented him.”

In 2006, Take That produced a documentary about their band, during which Robbie offered a brief and apology to Gary. However, Gary appeared to have little to add, stating that he had already expressed his thoughts on the matter in previous interviews. Gary said, “I think I’ve said it all in my interviews, yeah.”

The 1975 front-man Matty Healy has given an on-stage apology for his past comments and actions, claiming them to be an attempt at being a “21st century rockstar”. The apology came on Monday October 2nd while Healy was performing with The 1975 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California.

At the Cheshire based group’s gig, singer Matty Healy told the crowd “Because some of my actions have hurt some people, I apologise to those people, and I pledge to do better moving forward. I think it’s also important that I express my intentions, so everybody knows that there is no ill will coming from me.

You see, as an artist, I want to create an environment for myself to perform where not everything that I do is taken literally… I’ve kind of performed exaggerated versions of myself on other stages, be it print or on podcasts and in an often misguided attempt at fulfilling the kind of character role of the 21st-century rock star – so, it’s complicated.

Sometimes playing pretend is the only way you can truly find out who you are, and you could probably also say that men would rather do offensive impressions for attention than go to therapy.”

An example of when Healy has offended people happened after he appeared on a now removed episode of The Adam Friedland Show, where he and the show’s hosts discussed the heritage of American rapper Ice Spice. On the show, there was a debate as to whether the New Yorker was of Hawaiian, Inuit or Chinese descent, before impersonating accents from these countries and regions.

In response to these comments, Ice Spice told Variety “When I had heard that little podcast or whatever, I was so confused. Because I heard ‘chubby Chinese lady’ or some s**t like that, and I’m like, ‘Huh? What does that even mean?’ First of all, I’m thick. What do you mean Chinese? What? But then they apologised or whatever. And the whole time, I didn’t really care.”

“But that’s funny because I saw him [Matty Healy] at the Jean Paul Gaultier party a couple days ago, and he was like, ‘Hey, you OK?’ and I’m like, ‘Of course.’ He apologised to me a bunch of times. We’re good.”

In an apology at a The 1975 show in Auckland earlier this year, Healy admitted “I just feel a bit bad, and I’m kind of a bit sorry if I’ve offended you. Ice Spice, I’m sorry. It’s not because I’m annoyed that me joking got misconstrued. It’s because I don’t want Ice Spice to think I’m a dick. I love you, Ice Spice. I’m so sorry.”

You can watch Healy’s apology to Ice Spice as told by Entertainment Tonight below.

Liam Gallagher has returned to Twitter to offer an apology for his supposed death threat to Stefan Savic. The remarks in question came after a heated Champions League clash between Atletico Madrid and Manchester City, which saw a fair few heated altercations between players of both sides.

As the game was drawing steadily to a 0-0 draw (thus seeing Atletico knocked out from the running), Savic appeared to direct a headbutt at the Man City winger Raheem Sterling, resulting in a ruck between the players and a yellow card issued to the guilty party.

It’s no secret that Gallagher is a devoted supporter of the blues and has often been vocal via social media in his support. In a Tweet that has since been deleted, he said; “Stefan Savic this is a threat if I come across you ya goofy looking C*** your dead MCFC.”

As of now Gallagher has retracted his harsh statement and looked to engage with the public more positively. Stating; “I’m really upset and annoyed at myself, I feel I’ve let all my fans down by my outlandish behaviour I’m a role model to GROWN UPS hope you can forgive me.”

Im really upset and annoyed at myself I feel I’ve let all my fans down by my outlandish behaviour I’m a role model to GROWN UPS hope you can forgive me LFUCKING x

— Liam Gallagher (@liamgallagher) April 15, 2022

Whilst it’s possible that the comments were made very much tongue-in-cheek in typical Gallagher fashion. His Fans have responded warmly to the former Oasis frontman taking the right approach to his behaviour.

One response suggested; “Never act when you are upset or angry, calm down and think, then you’ll be in the right frame of mind.” To which Gallagher responded; “Ok Thsnx for that advice I’m really gonna take that on board.”

Another interaction went on to say; “Will you keep the love train going?” which prompted; “Yes I’ll give it my best shot even though it might come off the rails every now and again.”

Liam Gallagher is due to release his latest album C’mon You Know on the 27th of May 2022 via Warner. Which has been previewed with the release of the singles such as “Everything’s Electric” and the album’s title track.

Following an inquest that found that Rinse FM resident DJ Alex T was given substandard care before his death, the NHS trust in Leeds has issued his family an apology. After his death, his family has called for more awareness of meningitis, the illness that precipitated his tragic death in early 2020.

After an inquest found that the DJ had been transferred between two hopsitals without a nurse escort, as well as being given substandard handover notes, the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has issued the family an apology. Chief medical officer at the trust, Dr Phil Wood, said: “I would like to offer our sincere condolences to Alexander’s family and apologise that the care he received was not to the standard we would expect.”

Alex T, full name Alex Theodossiadis, passed away on the 28th of January 2020. He suffered from meningitis and sepsis, as well as enduring a subdural haemorrhage in hospital. A Rinse FM resident, he also worked at Tribe Records, one of the most highly-regarded record shops in Leeds and the UK at large, an integral part of Leeds’ electronic music scene. He was a well-known member of the scene, known for his passion and dedication to the electronic music scene. He recieved many tributes from members in the scene and beyond, including Paul Woolford, Minor Science, and Mor Elian; shortly after the announcement of his death, Bruce dedicated a night on his Get Loose! radio show to Alex T.

Kevin McLoughlin, the coroner, said he would write two “prevention of further deaths” reports in conclusion to the case, as well as a letter to the Royal College of General Practicioners containing advice on how to care for those with meningitis for GPs. The parents of Alex T expressed satisfaction with the coroner’s narrative, as well as his dedication to future action for meningitis sufferers. This is despite the mother arguing that “Alex was a victim” of poor care and poor communication in hospital.

Professor Sue Theodossiadis, Alex T’s mother and medical professional, said: “The coroner picked up that there is a need for [GP] receptionists to ask questions and help people to disclose what they need to disclose and triage them to get urgent appointments. I think that’s a positive.”

The inquest and apology provide some much-needed closure to Alex’s passing after nearly two years of uncertainty, though he will be sorely missed in the electronic scene.

Last week Ora made a public apology to her fans after she celebrated her 30th birthday in a restaurant in central London with a guest list exceeding 30 people. At the time of Ora’s party, England was in a national lockdown with meetings and gatherings like this one were not allowed. Ironically if she had waited just 2 days there would have been no lockdown, however, her party would still not been allowed due to the government’s tier system and London being in the second of the three tiers.

Ora’s second breach of the lockdown rules actually comes just before her 30th birthday party and has only just come to light today (07/12/2020). So what happened? Ora performed a private show at Cairo’s W Hotel in Egypt on the 21st of November with a six-figure sum. Not much is known about the show and who was in attendance aside from rumors. Ora has said that she would “donate her fee from the concert to charity.”. Instead of self-isolating after her return from Egypt on the 22nd, the following day, she attended her birthday party 8 days later on the 30th.

In a recent statement Ora said “Upon my return to Britain, I should have followed government advice and isolated myself for the required period. As you know, I didn’t follow government advice and for that I apologised earlier this week. I apologise again, unreservedly.”. Her previous statement read “I’m deeply sorry for breaking the rules and in turn understand that this puts people at risk. This was a serious and inexcusable error of judgment.”

I would not be the person I am today without your unconditional love and support!! Thank you to my fans for riding this journey with me and your beautiful messages, I can’t wait to see you all again!!! https://t.co/acrMuRJUv2

The UK went into a nationwide lockdown near the end of March this year (2020), as we left the lockdown we entered a three-tier system, after a second wave we entered a month-long lockdown in early November. Regardless of whether we were in a lockdown or the tier system gatherings over the number 6 (with an exception for funerals) went against the regulations and rules of the lockdowns and tier system. Those who get caught breaking the rules can be fined up to £10,000. It is unknown if Ora has paid any such fines but has promised to donate the payment from the private show to charity.

Justin Bieber has posted an apology online for his use of the ‘N’ word in a video of him five years ago.

The 20 year old pop-star has apologised claiming he was young and naive at the time, unaware of his mistake. The video in question was used as part of his movie ‘Never Say Never’ and shows the younger Bieber telling a tasteless joke which repeatedly uses the disgusting word. In his apology he writes “As a kid I didn’t know the power of certain words and how they can hurt…I was a kid then and I am a man now who knows his responsibility”.

This comes after a series of controversial acts such as allegedly smoking something which looks like cannabis, drag racing drunk through Miami, spitting on a crowd of fans and generally giving the himself a bad name.

Think what you may about Bieber, but it was important to note that the retweeting of his video and perhaps laughing at the joke brings about a more controversial use of racism via social networking. This at a time when the BBC’s own Jeremy Clarkson had been caught out allegedly using the ‘N’ word during an outtake of Top Gear, but somehow his apology appears more heartfelt as it looks as though he may have no intended to use the word. One Direction have also been the brunt of
negative media after their disputed cannabis video last month.

For the time being Bieber as apologised, but it is one thing to tweet an apology and another to truly understand the gravity of using such disgusting words.
