London Grammar have announced that they will be playing a run of arena tours in the UK later this year. The tour will be in support of their fourth studio album ‘The Greatest Love’ which is set to be released on the 13th of September 2024 via Ministry Of Sound. The tour dates will take place in November and are set to be the British groups biggest shows to date. The announcement comes shortly after the band’s headline set of The Park Stage at Glastonbury last weekend.

Three dates have been confirmed by London Grammar with them saying via their Instagram “You asked, and we listened… UK arena tour incoming!! “. The run of dates will see them perform at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro and Manchester’s AO Arena before finishing playing a huge show at the O2 arena in London on the 14th of November. As well as this the trio recently announced that they will be embarking on a European tour, playing dates in Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin in October and November this year.

The three members of the group have all had their own individual projects going on alongside being in the band with lead singer Hannah being a painter and writing her own solo songs, Dot being a DJ and releasing his own electronic music and Dan being a producer for other artists.

Speaking on their upcoming fourth album, singer Hannah Reid said “This album is probably the last time that we’ll appear in our music videos. I love the fact that I can walk down the street and nobody knows who I am – and yet we can fill huge spaces with people who love our music. We’ve worked really, really hard, and it has paid off.”

She also added that she hoped the group will “keep making music together until we’re old, wrinkly, and completely irrelevant. As long as we prioritise the art, there is no reason why we can’t go on for decades.”

The Indie pop trio have previewed the album with three singles so far titled ‘House’, ‘Kind Of Man’ and most recently ‘Into Gold’ which was released last month. ‘House’ was released with an accompanying video which you can watch below.

The band are just coming off the back of of an amazing headline performance of the Park stage at Glastonbury last weekend. They are also set to play at Latitude later this month.

The Co-op Live venue in Manchester is in completely disarray, resulting in numerous acts cancelling their shows.

Following technical issues at one of Manchester’s most famous arenas, huge artists such as: Take That, Olivia Rodrigo, and Keane, have been forced to postpone or cancel their performances on extremely short notice, leaving thousands of fans angered.

Usually, the arena can hold up to 23,500 people, and these seats were expected to be filled on the 20th April, as Rick Astley was due to perform in a test concert, and was the first show since the arena’s original opening. However, according to NME, only an hour before the show began, thousands of unfortunate concert goers received the fatal email that was cancelling their tickets. The arena claimed that this was in order to reduce the venue capacity to 11,000 for safety measures, however it did not appease attendees, some of which had already began on their travels to the show.

From here, the situation only worsened as A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s show on May 1st was cancelled ten minutes prior to the doors opening. It has been revealed that a component of the air conditioning system had fell during soundcheck, resulting in the abrupt cancelling of his show. As a result of the worsening difficulties with the venue, artists including A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and Take That, have managed to change their shows to the Co-op Arena’s rival venue, the AO Arena.

The arena has stated that they are hoping to re-open on May 14th, despite recently undergoing work. According to the BBC, the venue had been warned in February that construction plans were around 35 weeks behind schedule. Nonetheless, the £365m venue is confident that they will soon be re-opening, and are keeping fan’s hopes up with the announcement of shows for this summer and the rescheduling of previously cancelled shows.

However, many artists have been unable to rearrange their shows, with Olivia Rodrigo, who has currently not managed to reschedule her show, stating she is “so bummed” that her show can’t go ahead

Hopefully the venue will be up and running again soon, as many despondent fans have been left miserable and confused at the sudden change of circumstances.

Beloved Los Angeles pop-sensation Billie Eilish has performed a new song “TV” at a gig in Manchester. The performance took place on June 7th, and you can view a video of the performance down below.

The show took place at Manchester’s AO Arena, and marks Eilish’s first show in England since her performance at Reading Festival in 2019. Before sharing the track, Eilish said: “We haven’t played a new song live before it’s out since 2017 or 2018…This is one we just wrote, and we just wanted to play for you.” Eilish performed the track alongside her brother and long-time collaborator Finneas, who toted an acoustic guitar during the song.

The tune is bare and melancholy, featuring tentatively strummed acoustic guitar chords and soft vocals from Eilish. From footage of the performance, you can hear Eilish sing “What’s the point of anything / All of my friends are missing again / That’s what happens when you fall in love”. As the title of the sombre tune may suggest, some of the lyrics focus on the media, with a reference to the Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard trial and the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade in the United States: “The internet’s gone wild watching movie stars on trial /While they’re overturning Roe v. Wade.”

Eilish also recently announced a London-based, climate-focused event entitled Overheated, which coincides with her current “Happier Than Ever” UK tour. The event will commence tomorrow (June 10th) and intends to unite designers, musicians and climate activists at various UK venues to discuss the climate crisis.

The subjects set to be explored include climate friendly approaches within the music industry, sustainable fashion and the impact of plant-based diets. The event will also feature live performances and screenings of the Overheated documentary. Live performances will be given by the likes of Sigrid and Yungblud. More information regarding the event can be found here.

The Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft has just added two more dates to his run around the UK, which starts this May at the Highest Point Festival in Lancaster. And now he’s running for a bit longer, seeing the sights that make up Manchester and Brighton this coming October. Tickets go on sale at 9:30 am this Friday and can be found at this link.

The tour promises to have a number of Ashcroft’s old The Verve hits, as well as some new tracks, such as from his latest album, Acoustic Hymns Vol.1. Released in October last year, the album seemed to please fans, reaching no. 2 on the UK Official Albums Chart and featuring Ashcroft reimagining “some of his biggest shows“. It even featured another star of the nineties, Liam Gallagher, on the album’s track “C’Mon People (We’re Making it Now)“, a remix of which was released in January.

Some other things Ashcroft’s got coming up include a part in Edinburgh’s The Big Top concert series, occurring on 17th June at the Royal Highland Centre. The festival has managed to attract a number of big names, with the likes of Madness, Biffy Clyro and Fatboy Slim also due to headline.

Then there’s news of an all-day special performance in London’s Crystal Palace Bowl, joining in a series of gigs by South Facing Festival, which is still to announce some of the other performers joining its stage in the near future.

It’s good to see him back in action, especially after pulling out of last year’s Tramlines Festival in Sheffield, not feeling comfortable with it being used by the government as a “testing programme“ for COVID-19’s transmissibility. He said at the time “Apologies to my fans for any disappointment but the festival was informed over 10 days ago that I wouldn’t be playing once it had become part of a government testing programme. I had informed my agent months ago I wouldn’t be playing concerts with restrictions. The status of the festival was one thing when I signed up for it, but, sadly was forced to become something else. “

If you want to order Ashcroft’s latest album, you can look here. His upcoming tour dates can be seen below. As for future endeavours, Ashcroft’s not shy about who he’d like to work with, recently talking of his hopes to write hits for Rihanna, arguing that his “big melodies and big choruses“ could be a good match for the pop star.

Last week Justin Bieber announced a run of dates for the UK leg of his ‘Justice World Tour’, taking him through London, Manchester, Birmingham, Sheffield, Glasgow and Aberdeen. Today, due to massively high demand, Bieber has confirmed the 3rd night at London’s O2 Arena, as well as 2nd dates at both Manchester’s AO Arena and Birmingham’s Resorts World Arena. Despite the tour beginning in 2022, the 10 total UK dates won’t be arriving until February 2023, almost 6 years after his last full UK show at British Summer Time 2017. Get tickets for any of the dates on the UK tour here.

The tour, initially planned to kick off last year, was delayed until next year after COVID-19 restrictions cancelled essentially everyone’s plans. But according to Bieber in a press release with NME, “We’ve been working hard to create the best show we’ve ever done, and we can’t wait to share it with fans around the world. I’ll see you soon,”. So fans should be confident the tour will be well worth the wait.

The UK gigs will take place after a 52-night tour of the US, after being rescheduled to March – June of 2022. Bieber will then visit Europe, South America, Africa, and Australia, before returning to Europe for the UK shows almost a full year after the tour begins. As of yet, the tour is set to finish in Poland on March 25th 2023. See the full list of dates on the world tour here.

So far, the only support act announcement to be made for any dates with Bieber is with Jaden Smith, Eddie Benjamin, and TEO performing on the North American Leg of the tour. The other 4 legs of the tour will be given tour support presumably in the not so distant future.

Bieber has also announced his involvement with The Wave XR, a digital concert-going experience. His final performance with the service will be today. See below for details on how to catch the final date.
