Twenty One Pilots will take the stage at Victoria Park in London on August 30. It is set to be the band’s only UK show of the year. Previously announced acts for the day include Wunderhorse, Nova Twins, REN, BBNO$, PVRIS, Dead Pony, Kid Kapachi and LEAP.

Today (25 March) celebrated Australian rock band, Gang of Youths has joined the lineup. Their 2017 track ‘Achilles Come Down’ achieved virality in 2020 and still remains a popular track on TikTok with over 45 thousand posts under the official sound on the platform. Also on the bill are American rock band, half alive. This will be their second time supporting Twenty One Pilots after accompanying them on their 2021 Takeover Tour. NOAHFINNCE, British singer and YouTuber, is one of the exciting emerging acts set to support, he released his first original single, ‘Asthma Attack’ in 2018 on YouTube and was signed to Hopeless Records in 2019. British punk rockers Kid Kapichi, British Rock duo Nova Twins, Jessie Murph and Artio are just a few more on the long list of names added.

Keeping with All Points East’s theme of immersing their promotion within their headliner’s fanbase, the line up additions were teased last night (24 March). Fan received an email from the festival with a cryptic letter, written in the style of one from the world of the band’s expansive and long-running narrative, Trench. Highlighted words like “Jessie,” “Noah,” “half” and “alive” as well as “let me down easy” (Gang of Youths’ 2x Platinum single) gave the fans a taste of who would be joining the band on August 30.

In addition to a stacked line up, Twenty One Pilots is bringing along their exclusive Fan Premier Exhibit to Victoria Park. This add-on will allow fans to walk through showings of memorabilia from the band’s career, new items from their most recent album, ‘Breach’, interactive photo ops and more. Additionally, the immersive Bandtiø Camp will be set up on the festival grounds, an installation described as somewhere fans can “take photos, explore the camp’s artefacts and connect with fellow Banditos.”

Most recently, the duo officially released their single, ‘Drag Path’ which gained massive, unexpected popularity five months after its limited release in September 2025. After going viral on TikTok, the official release of the song peaked at Number 23 on the Official Singles chart. This is the duo’s highest position on this chart since their 2016 single ‘Heathens.’

Twenty One Pilots will close out the All Points East 2026 festivities on the last weekend of August. Ahead of them Victoria Park will see sets from Jorja Smith and Tems on Friday 21 August, Lorde on Saturday 22 August, Deftones at Outbreakfest on Sunday 23 August, and Tyler, The Creator will headline two nights on 28 and 29 August.

Tickets for Twenty One Pilots’ All Points East takeover can still be found here.

Alt-rock duo Placebo celebrate 30 years since their self-titled debut album this year, and they haven’t forgotten it. Today they’ve announced a modernised re-release of 1996’s ‘Placebo’ and a tour that will see them play songs from their first two albums across Europe, before hitting 5 dates in the UK and one in Ireland.

Aside from the occasional drummer, Placebo’s core of lead-singer and guitarist Brian Molko paired with bassist and guitarist Stefan Olsdal has driven the band since their chance encounter in 1994. When they released their first LP ‘Placebo’, they had already sorted a record label following strong early singles ‘Bruise Pristine’ and ‘Come Home’. Later single ‘Teenage Angst’ also became popular, but it was the track ‘Nancy Boy’ that really asserted the band as unique. The members’ androgynous appearance and Molko’s nasal voice, coupled with lyrics about subverting gender identities and drug abuse led to it becoming simultaneously wildly popular and controversial. ‘Nancy Boy’ became a breakaway success, hitting number four on the Official Singles Chart, and bringing the album back to fifth in the UK Album Chart.

They followed up with second album ‘Without You I’m Nothing’ in 1998, which also spawned successful singles ‘Pure Morning’, ‘You Don’t Care About Us’ and ‘Every You Every Me’. ‘Pure Morning’ and ‘You Don’t Care About Us’ charted at fourth and fifth respectively, the last two UK top ten singles released by Placebo. The album itself entered the charts at seventh, reaching platinum status in 2003.

Today the band took to social media to let fans know that ‘Placebo’ would be turning 30 on the 17th of June, and that they were paying homage to it with a new reimagining. The post reads “Celebrating three decades since the release of the debut album, ‘Placebo RE:CREATED’, features powerful new reworked and embellished versions of all ten tracks from the original album plus two bonus tracks.”

However, ‘Placebo RE:CREATED’ will be no mere reissue, nor will it be a complete makeover. The post continues “We think of this record as a director’s cut. We haven’t recreated it from scratch. We went back to the original master tapes and brought 30 years of playing these songs live back into the record. This project was about finally finishing the record, dragging it into the 21st century sonically, while preserving the integrity and the spirit of the original. It’s not about improving it, there’s nothing wrong with it, it’s about completing it.”

Along with the announcement of ‘RE:CREATED’, Placebo have also revealed a 30th anniversary tour to go with it. The setlist will cover fan favourites and deep cuts from both ‘Placebo’ and ‘Without You I’m Nothing’. The European leg kicks off in Portugal on the 28th of September, arriving in the UK and Ireland for a six-night arena run through late November and early December. The UK run of dates is below, with the full list and tickets available on their website:

Singer-songwriter, Beabadoobee, has shared her ethereal and grunge-tinged single, ‘All I Did Was Dream of You,’ featuring American alternative band, The Marías. This is Beabadoobee’s first new music release since her 2024 album, ‘This Is How Tomorrow Moves.’ In her Instagram post, announcing the release, the singer said, “I have missed this i’ve missed youuuu and this year is going to be unreal.” Watch the cinematic music video below.

Beabadoobee told Dazed she was inspired by Yorgos Lanthimos’ 2025 film, Bugonia when it came to the ‘All I Did Was Dream of You’ music video. She said, “that last scene [in the film] inspired the video.” Shot in Lithuania and co-directed by longtime collaborator Jake Erland alongside Lithuanian director AboveGround, the video opens on the image of a smoking car wreck, and ends with the fiery beginnings of the event. Between, are stoic and cinematic shots of the singer against various backdrops including frozen lakes, snow-covered city corners and bars decked in wood paneling. The singer described the experience of shooting the video to Dazed: “it was −17C there – I could have died! I was singing on this frozen lake; it was f**king crazy but it looks so beautiful.”

The Lanthimos inspiration is felt throughout the video through various uncanny images: the singer lounging on a bare bed as a crowd peers through the window at her, a desolate meat counter near closing time with the singer lying in a case next to the raw meats and dancing in a spotlight on a snowy field as a flare lights up the sky. The images call to themes present in the dream pop-alt rock song: longing, nostalgia, and the desire to understand others’ perceptions of oneself.

María Zarodoya, lead singer of The Marías, could not be in the video, but Beebadoobee said “she sang beautifully on the song and was really encouraging.” The Marías were nominated for Best New Artist at the 68th Grammy Awards earlier this year.

Beabadoobee has taken two years off releasing new music of her own. But just earlier this month she contributed a cover of Eliot Smith’s ‘Say Yes’ to the War Child charity collaboration ‘Help(2).’ But 2026 is set to be an exciting year for the singer. She says ‘All I Did Was Dream of You’ acts as a “ a nice bridge to the next thing I want to release” and that she “can’t wait to release something.” She went on to say her two year break allowed her look at her music with “more integrity” and that if she doesn’t believe a song is “perfect” she does not want to release it.

Critics have said the single is “ a soft reset, a moment of stillness, a shared vision between two artists who understand the power of atmosphere. It feels like the start of a new chapter — not louder, but deeper.”

With over 30 years in the industry as one of the UK’s top rock bands, Muse have always had a flair for the dramatic. Now the Devon trio appear to be ominously building up to their first music of the year with a little taster video for a track seemingly named ‘Be With You’.

Formed in Teignmouth, Devon in 1994, the three-piece of singer-guitarist-pianist Matt Bellamy, bassist Chris Wolstenholme and drummer Dominic Howard have been a force in both the British and international rock scene since 2001 breakthrough album ‘Origin Of Symmetry’. After this, their last 7 studio albums have all topped the UK Official Album Charts, they’ve won the BRIT Award for best British Live Act twice, as well as being graced with two Grammys and an Ivor Novello Award. While Muse are undoubtedly brilliant on recording, it is their spectacular live performances that have won them most of their acclaim, leading them to the world’s largest stadiums and festival bills.

Their experimental progressive rock sound has explored electronic and symphonic styles, as well as delving into pop ballads and rock-opera suites. 2022 LP ‘Will Of The People’ was a slightly limp, by-the-books offering, with the band charting already-tested waters for the first time in a while. However their latest single, 2025’s ‘Unravelling’ saw Muse return to the lab, incorporating darker EDM synthesiser cuts and even meddling with “djent”, a progressive metal sound defined by oppressive down-tuned guitar riffs.

Following on from last year’s 6-Part Docuseries ‘With You’, a glimpse into the band’s relationship with their global fanbase, they released the teaser ‘Be With You’ today. Perhaps either a poetic tribute to the supporters who buy millions of Muse albums and tickets every year, or simply a demo of a soon-to-be-released single, the video is certainly open to various interpretations. What is plain is that this is music we haven’t heard yet, and it’s very, very interesting.

The video is beautifully atmospheric throughout its entire 1-minute and 26-second duration, consisting of frontman Matt Bellamy performing what sounds like a hymn at an organ in a magnificent, dimly-lit church. The sermon builds up with his iconic falsetto voice, before ending abruptly with what sounds like a crash of metal guitar blasts and drums. A string of numbers and letters appears on the screen at the end, which fans on Reddit quickly identified as a nod to the 1977 “Wow! Signal” – a detection of a radio wave which was considered evidence of extra-terrestrial life. This is likely a stage in an Alternate Reality Game (ARG) allowing fans to solve puzzles to find the inspiration of the album, or uncover more new music.

After their summer run of European festivals last year, Muse currently only have the one US live date scheduled for this year, at Milwaukee’s Summerfest in July. This could all change with the full announcement of new music, as the band have been known to sneakily announce stadium tours with little warning. For further news, the band run a mailing list which has given subscribers the drop on news first.

The event runs from Wednesday the 8th to Saturday the 11th of July, held in a beautifully green setting on Upcote Farm, near Cheltenham in Gloucestershire. Since its inaugural year in 2007, it’s hosted major names from rock, punk, metal and indie, with the likes of Jimmy Eat World, Turnstile, and Coheed and Cambria all playing sets among the trees that gave the festival its name.

From the previous announcement in November, there was already a lot to look forward to. The Wednesday has Canadian punks Pup, as well as British up-and-comers Lake Malice and Split Chain; Thursday has a big headliner in punk veterans Alkaline Trio; Friday’s undercard is topped off with Lambrini Girls and Cancer Bats; and Saturday sees post-hardcore legends Glassjaw return to the UK.

The collection of bands in today’s haul are in many ways a celebration of British acts coming back from inactivity, with the major players having returned to the fray at some point in the last 10 years. The biggest name of the 2026 reveal is Funeral For A Friend playing 2000Trees for the first time since 2013, celebrating the 25th anniversary of their inception in the process. One of Wales’ most beloved exports, they were at the forefront of the emo movement through the 2000s and 2010s, before calling time on the band in 2016. After reforming for 2 fundraiser concerts in 2019, they’ve decided to keep touring, even following the departure of long-term lead singer Matthew Davies-Kreye in 2023. Now with the exceptional Lucas Woodland of Welsh compatriots Holding Absence on live vocal duties, they’ll be using their only headline show of the year to treat nostalgic fans to their unique brand of emotional post-hardcore.

Marmozets are another British band who came back from a hiatus with new-found drive, having only reformed and started touring again in 2024. Their live shows have always had a reputation for untamed energy, with their high-tempo mathcore earning them slots at Glastonbury, as well as Reading and Leeds festivals. The West Yorkshire unit’s third album and first since 2018, ‘CO.WAR.DICE’ comes out on the 22nd of May, giving fans ample time to learn the new songs.

Rounding the list of comeback kings off is Kingston upon Thames’ Arcane Roots, who separated in 2018 and only released their first single since then just over a week ago. ‘A Wave, Across The Sea’ came out on the 27th of January, a moodily pulsating slow-burner that builds to a thunderous metal climax. Having expanded their line-up from 3 members to 5, they’ll be looking to make their Friday reunion show special indeed.

Other noteworthy announcements include the two-for-one deal of LA punk band The Bronx and their brilliant Mexican-infused side-hustle Mariachi El Bronx, both performing on Thursday, and As Everything Unfolds on Saturday, with the High Wycombe band on a massive rise via their exciting modern rock with a metal tinge.

The poster also has a space marked “headliner TBA” on the bill for Saturday, so keep your eyes peeled for at least one more big name before July. Final release tickets for 2000Trees can be found here.

This week, Digbeth will once again transform into a hub of sonic adventure as Supersonic Festival returns from August 29 – August 31. Known internationally as the UK’s premier celebration of experimental and boundary-pushing music, the festival is set to deliver another bold and uncompromising programme.

Supersonic has always prided itself on defying easy labels, and the 2025 line up looks certain to reinforce that ethos. One of the most anticipated sets will come from Backxwash, the Zambian-Canadian rapper and producer, who will perform a UK exclusive preview of her upcoming album ‘Only Dust Remains’. Audiences can expect a cathartic and confrontational performance that blends industrial beats with raw, personal lyricism.

Also making their mark will be Funeral Folk, a collaboration between Swedish artists Maria W Horn and Sara Parkman. Their UK debut promises an exploration of grief and renewal, blending electronics, folk instrumentation, and choral elements. Another UK debut comes from Norway’s Witch Club Satan, an all-female black-metal trio whose theatrical and ritualistic approach is expected to be one of the festival’s most intense experiences.

Fans of Supersonic’s history will be excited by the return of The Bug with Warrior Queen, who performed at the festival’s inaugural edition back in 2003. Their reunion set will provide a heavy, bass driven link to Supersonic’s beginnings. Other names on the line-up include Richard Dawson, Divide and Dissolve, Jackie-O Motherfucker, Penelope Trappes, Zu, and Mermaid Chunky, ensuring that each day offers a wide spectrum of sound and genres.

The programme will be carefully sequenced across the weekend. Friday will set the tone with Birmingham duo Big Special and immersive performances from acts like Water Damage and Zu. Saturday will lean into heavier territory, with Backxwash, Death Goals, and The HIRS Collective expected to deliver some of the festival’s most confrontational moments. Sunday will close the weekend with more meditative and ritualistic sets, including Funeral Folk, Cinder Well, and Richard Dawson.

Attendees will also be able to take part in talks, workshops, and family-friendly events. These will include Doomyoga sessions, radical poster-making with Black Lodge Press, and the ever-popular Freak Zone Pub Quiz hosted by 6Music’s Stuart Maconie.

Tickets for the festival are available for purchase here, along with more information and full line up.

Her solo career has steadily been gaining momentum, marked by her US television solo debut last month on Jimmy Kimmel where she performed ‘Something in the Air’ from her debut album ‘Vicious Creature’.

Mayberry’s music career began as lead singer of CHVRCHES, an alternative band formed in Glasgow in 2011. Known for their innovative synth-driven sound and introspective lyricism, CHVRCHES quickly became a standout in the indie and electronic music scenes. The band’s debut album, ‘The Bones of What You Believe’ (2013), catapulted them to international fame with hits like ‘The Mother We Share’ and ‘Recover’.

In 2023, Mayberry reflected on the transition from the band to her solo career, telling NME: “For any front person in a band, but especially a woman, as soon as you say the words ‘solo material’ people get very upset with you. I feel like every second sentence is, ‘I’m not breaking up the band, guys, however…”

“But we’re lucky enough to have fans that care so much that they don’t want it to break up. I feel grateful, but I’m trying to be reassuring to them – just give us a couple more years guys, it’s going to be fine.”

During her set in San Diego, Mayberry delivered a powerful rendition of the iconic anthem by British rock band, The Verve, a song which has sold over 1.2 million copies in the UK. Gradually growing from her piano intro to a full band sound, her vocals soared as she belted the song’s signature “Have you ever been down?”

Performing covers is not unusual for Mayberry, who has previously taken on Nena’s ‘99 Luftballons’, Depeche Mode’s ‘Personal Jesus’, The 1975’s ‘Paris’, and Spice Girls’ ‘Viva Forever’. Her ability to seamlessly transition between electronic anthems and stripped-down performances underscores her versatility as an artist.

As she embarks on this new phase of her career, Mayberry’s commitment to both her solo work and CHVRCHES ensures that fans will continue to experience her artistry in multiple forms.

The festival is also offering more than just music. Forever Now is featuring The Echo Chamber, a unique stage dedicated to exploring the cultural movements and narratives behind the music. The stage has been curated by music journalist and musician John Robb and will host artist panels, interviews, and discussions which allow fans to feel connected to their favourite artists. The festival takes inspiration from its US counterpart, The Cruel World Festival, which has become a beloved gathering for fans of the genre in the US. Forever Now seeks to recreate that success in the UK, offering a platform that highlights the rich history of alternative music while also introducing new audiences to a range of acts.

Tickets for Forever Now go on presale on December 5, 2024. The general sale is set to be released on December 6, 2024. Tickets will include access to the festival’s main stages and activities and they are reported as a starting price of £85. VIP packages are also available, which offer enhanced experiences such as early entry and dedicated areas.
The festival is set in Milton Keynes’ iconic National Bowl, and with two primary music stages, the event promises to attract fans from across the UK. Forever Now is destined to be a stop-off for anyone passionate about individuality and creativity.

The festival blends legendary acts with newer voices whilst also allowing for cultural exploration in the alternative genre, Forever Now captures the timeless spirit of post-punk and alternative music. The introduction of this new festival ensures that the genre’s legacy continues to thrive for generations to come in the UK.

English Teacher’s debut album “This Could Be Texas” is back in the UK top 40 charts following their win at the Mercury Prize awards.

On the 5th of September, the Leeds band English Teacher took home the prize for best debut album, making them the first band from outside of London to win in over a decade.

The band won over their competition which included Nia Archives, Barry Can’t Swim, BERWYN, and the predicted favourite Charlie XCX’s Brat, to name just a few.

The album received stellar compliments from the judging panel, with the team stating: “We did agree that This Could Be Texas by English Teacher stands out for its originality and character. A winning lyrical mix of surrealism and social observation, alongside a subtle way of wearing its musical innovations lightly, displays a fresh approach to the traditional guitar band format. This Could Be Texas reveals new depths on every listen; the mark of a future classic. The Mercury Prize was set up to celebrate the album as an artistic format in its own right and all the judges agreed that this charismatic body of work deserves to be the 2024 Mercury Prize Album of the Year.”

Since receiving the award, English Teacher’s music has increased in popularity. On the 17th of September BPI, the organisers behind the Mercury Prize, reported the increase in streams the winning album has received. As reported by Music News, according to BPI analysis of Official Charts Company data, “This Could Be Texas” saw a chart sales increase of 1,073% in the week after the award show, the album’s best performance since its release.

A number of other bands shortlisted for the Mercury Prize have also benefitted from their place on the 2024 list, with BERWYN, Corinne Bailey Rae and corto.alto also seeing sale increases of over 100%.

Following winning the award, the band spoke to NME, stating that they would “continue to be honest” about their struggles as a band.

The group’s drummer Frost went on to say: “The response to the album has been incredible, we did not expect it at all. We were actually very worried about it and expecting the opposite, so it’s been surreal. I feel like it’s going to take me a long long time for this to sink in. As soon as it was announced, my whole body just shut down.”

In light of their recent accolades, the band have acknowledged that it will take a lot for them to top this achievement. The group seem up to the task, however.

Speaking in a recent interview with the Guardian, actor Jude Law spoke of his love for Radiohead, stating that if the band ever wanted him to be involved he would be “honoured.”

Radiohead, a British rock band formed in 1985, are known for pushing the boundaries of alternative rock. They have consistently experimented with a wide range of sounds, including electronic, experimental rock, and art rock. The band’s lineup includes lead vocalist and guitar and piano player Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood as the lead guitarist and keyboardist, Ed O’Brien on guitar and backing vocals, Colin Greenwood on bass, and Phil Selway on drums and percussion.

Radiohead is widely regarded as one of the most innovative bands in modern rock history. Their work has influenced countless musicians and pushed the limits of what rock music can be. Themes like dystopia, personal isolation, and environmental issues permeate their music, making them a voice for the anxious and introspective.

One of the major themes tackled in Radiohead’s music is the environment, more specifically the effects of pollution and climate change. This can be heard in their song Idioteque, which is related to climate change, global pollution, and mass species extinction.

Radiohead has had an active involvement in issues like the environment, and in 2012 the band teamed up with Jude Law to produce a video for Greenpeace to save the artic, titled A Homeless Polar Bear in London.

As reported on the Greenpeace website, on the video, Jude Law said: “Right now a handful of oil companies are trying to carve up the Arctic for the sake of the next quarterly results but a global movement is growing to stop them. I stand with hundreds of thousands of others who think the area should be made into a sanctuary, protected from corporate greed for good.”

Radiohead lead singer Thom Yorke said: “We have to stop the oil giants pushing into the Arctic. An oil spill in the Arctic would devastate this region of breathtaking beauty, while burning that oil will only add to the biggest problem we all face, climate change. Thats why I’m backing this campaign.”

It is unsurprising, therefore, that Law has a desire to rekindle past collaborative relationships with the band as they are so aligned on an issue of such great importance.

Law’s admiration for Radiohead was made clear when he told the Guardian reporter that they are “just blistering with talent. I listen to their music regularly. They’re one of the great bands.”
