The release of the new single, ‘Bad As The Boys’, comes as the singer confirmed the release date of her fourth album, ‘Sunshine Kitty’, which is dues to be released on the 20th of September 2019.

Singer and songwriter, Tove Lo’, new single sees her work with ALMA, having worked together several times previously, most notably on Charli XCX’s ‘Out Of My Head’ and Tove Lo’s ‘Bitches’ remix. However, this is the first time that the pair have collaborated on a duet, ‘Bas As Boys’, which is the second single to be taken from Tove’s upcoming fourth album, ‘Sunshine Kitty’.

Speaking about the collaboration with ALMA and her upcoming fourth album, Tove, said: “I met her in the summer, thinking life would get better but she’s gone now, took my heart and sunk with it, she was just as bad as the boys. Bad as the Boys is about my first summer girl crush when I was in my teens. It’s about that sting you feel in your heart when you know summer is coming to an end and so is the romance.

“Since I’m singing about a girl I wanted another female artist on it who also likes girls; so I hit up Alma. She really felt the song and was down to sing it with me. She has such an amazing voice and she absolutely killed it! And she’s badass.”

As well as sharing her new single, ‘Bad As Boys’, Tove shared details of her upcoming album, ‘Sunshine Kitty’, including its release date. In her announcement Tove revealed that her upcoming album, ‘Sunshine Kitty’ would be released, on the 20th of September 2019.

Tove’s upcoming fourth album, ‘Sunshine Kitty’, follows her previous album ‘Blue Lips’, which was released back in 2017. Along with the release of her new single, ‘Bad As Boys’, Lo has also announced, on Instagram, details of her upcoming album, ‘Sunshine Kittty’, including its full tracklist and featured artists, thst will be on the album.

She also revealed that it will feature the incredible lead single ‘Glad He’s Gone’, as well as a stellar list of collaborations with the likes of Jax Jones, Doja Cat, MC Zaac and even Kylie Minogue.

Speaking about her upcoming album, ‘Sunshine Kitty’, Tove wrote, on Instagram: £It’s filled with songs about naive love, teen crushes, future fears and being a vulnerable weirdo. I’m so proud of this album, and so grateful to everyone involved.” Speaking about the album title, Lo explained: “It’s a play on pussy power, but it’s a happy, positive way of seeing it.”

Continuing, Tove said, of its artwork: “This cartoon cat is an extension of me and part of the new music. She’s super cute, but she does stupid shit like getting in fights and getting fucked up. It’s how I feel the album sounds.” Lo has previously said ‘Sunshine Kitty’ is “happier” and will contain “more bangers” than her previous work.

Mad Cool Festival is a huge Pop, Rock and Alternative music festival happening from the 11-13 July 2019, in Madrid, Spain. Despite only being founded in 2016, it is already one of Europe’s hottest, most eagerly anticipated events. The festival has already brought bona-fide rock megastars to the centre of Europe over the course of only 2 years. Next years event looks set to be even hotter, with the exciting announcement of two exciting bands.

The 1975 who are set to play, will release their hotly anticipated third album ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’ this month, before their follow-up ‘Notes On A Conditional Form’ will be released next year, as part of their ‘Music For Cars’ era. The band who originate from Manchester, topped the UK Album Chart with their self entitled album The 1975 in 2013. In 2017 they won the highly acclaimed Brit Award for Best British Group.

They will be joined by The National, an American Rock Band heralding from Cincinnati, Ohio. Formed in 1999, The National achieved worldwide acclaim with their 2005 album entitled ‘Alligator’. In more recent years they have had hits with the album ‘Sleep Well’, which won the Grammy award for Best Alternative Music Album at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards in 2017.

The National revealed they were ‘beyond the halfway point’ with progress on their next album, driven by a certain “looseness” and “an energy that’s evaded us in the past” said guitarist Bryce Dessner.

Next years Spanish Mad Cool Festival is expected to be even bigger than previous years, attracting over 80,000 fans per day, with greater investment in sound equipment and quality, and almost guaranteed sunshine. Next years event with such a mega-star line-up is not to be missed.

Other acts to be announced were British 1970s rock legends The Cure, with legendary tracks such as Friday Im in Love, and Just Like Heaven. Also confirmed were the 1990s post rock Scottish based band Mogwai. Formed in 1995 Mogwai had success both in the UK and USA, reaching no.23 in the UK Albums Chart with their album Rock Action in 2001, as well as reaching No.13 on the Billboard Independent Album Chart, with Happy Songs for Happy people in 2003.
