Gallagher’s summer tour will be taking him all over the UK and Ireland to places such as Glasgow, Belfast, and Manchester. He’ll also be making a historic return to Knebworth for two nights in June, the spot where Oasis’ classic 1996 concerts took place.

It’s all in support of Liam’s upcoming solo album, C’MON YOU KNOW, which is out this Friday. It’ll be his third solo LP, following up on 2019’s Why Me? Why Not., and should sport the previously released singles “Everything’s Electric“ (co-written with Foo Fighters founder Dave Grohl), “C’Mon You Know“ and “Better Days“.  For those of you who have pre-ordered the new album before 3 pm today (from this link), you’ll have special access to the pre-sale which starts tomorrow at 10 am. Otherwise, the general sale will be up for grabs on Friday from 10 am if you go by this link.

There’s quite a lot of Liam Gallagher news out there at the moment which we can mention here. You can take your pick, from his recently announced collaboration with Adidas, helping them launch a new brand of trainers, to his new documentary on Sky – Liam Gallagher: 48 Hours at Rockfield. The latter will be released tonight at 9 pm, and will show Gallagher taking his sons Lennon and Gene to the very studio where Oasis’ classic second LP was recorded – Rockfield Studios.

The documentary will have the singer talking about his own unique perspective on life, especially on his notoriously hard-living lifestyle as he gets closer to fifty. “I am not into yoga and I don’t eat tofu. I drink lager and I like to have a good time. I don’t punish myself into being some super-skinny dude. I am what I am …. I will be like this when I am f***ing 80, hopefully …. There are some aches and pains, but in my head I am on it.”

Apparently, his sons are just as bitey as him when it comes to sarcasm, telling the world that “You don’t want to use the toilet after him” and that “You’d have a heart attack. We’ve got to save him, dementia is kicking in.”

It’s good news for fans, what with Capaldi having been so quiet as of late. Announcing a break from social media last year to work on his second album, it might be a safe bet to say that there’s a bit of pressure for this follow-up. His 2019 debut, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, was the best-selling album of 2019 and 2020, even breaking a few records whilst it was still on the rounds. Also, the smash-hit single “Someone You Loved“ was so successful that it remains Spotify’s fifth-most streamed track, with 2.2 billion streams to its name.

Despite this, Capaldi seems relatively unfazed about releasing his follow-up. Working with the likes of Ryan Tedder (a member of One Republic who’s also written songs for Adele and Beyonce), he’s reportedly said he “can’t wait“ to release what he’s been working on for the last two years. DailyRecord quotes him as saying “I have been busy in the studio and everything is getting into a bit more shape. I can’t wait to get the songs out now and release my new music. It’s been a long wait for everyone.”

Apparently, Capaldi has also been working with Bastille member Dan Smith, who has enthused on their recent writing projects together. He said about Capaldi “I did some writing with [Capaldi] and it was really great to see him. Obviously he has had the most amazing time and I think he is just taking his time writing lots of music and living his life …. We fucking love Lewis and we’re so proud of everything he’s done all over the world. It’s exciting to see what he’s going to do next.”

If you’re a fan of Capaldi and, like many others, love seeing him live just as much as on top of the charts, then tickets for the newly announced Cardiff gig will be going on general sale this Friday at 10 am and may be accessed here.
