The tour which will come along with the release will include stops in Dublin, Belfast, Brighton, Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds, Birmingham and Newcastle, before wrapping up at London’s Roundhouse. Jade said: “This album has been years in the making, so I’m beyond excited that I can finally let everyone know when it’s coming out. I’m very proud of ‘That’s Showbiz Baby!’ as a body of work and can’t wait to share it with the world. To be able to perform the album live later this year is also a dream come true. See you all on tour!”

The title ‘That’s Showbiz Baby!’ has a lot of meaning for the singer as she has always been quite candid about her career. Indeed, the Brit was only a teenager when she saw herself rise to fame after winning famous show The X Factor with her girl band Little Mix, formerly including Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson.

Opening up during an episode of The Assembly, a major new entertainment series where celebrities are questioned by a remarkable group of inquisitive interviewers who are autistic, neurodivergent and/or learning disabled, she answered a question asking her if she felt like she had “sold her soul” saying: “You’ve trumped me?…? Maybe a little bit in the beginning. I was so young and I just signed on the dotted line. But as the years have gone by I’ve learned more and more about the industry. I’ve been collecting — a bit like [Marvel superhero] Thanos with the stones — I’ve been collecting parts of my soul back as I’ve gained more creative freedom.” The ‘Angel Of My Dreams’ singer songwriter admitted she thinks this is the end of shows like the one that made her famous, as they can’t see them going anywhere. “I think it’s the end of that kind of TV show or music label. I think it’s the end of that era. But I don’t know if Simon Cowell specifically has ended.”

Speculations came all around Jade after the release of her single and who the lyrics were about, many people thinking they were about music mogul Simon Cowell.

She told Beat magazine: “It’s not specifically about that. But I wanted the song to be my journey, from entering the music business to now, and what that’s felt like. That’s why the song feels so chaotic. The opening is like the music to that montage bit on The X Factor after you’ve won, and you’re just catapulted into the industry.”

She added: “I don’t want to sit here and bash the last 13 years of my life. I’m very happy and content. But like with any job, there are highs and lows. That’s just life, and it’s my reality, but it’s about writing it in a way that’s not woe is me.”

Kid Kapichi, the talented band from Hastings, has recently revealed exciting details about their highly anticipated upcoming album There Goes The Neighbourhood. Serving as a follow-up to their successful 2022 release Here’s What You Could Have Won, this new album is set to hit the shelves on 15th March 2024 through Spinefarm, much to the delight of their dedicated fanbase.

Jack Wilson said “I know it’s a cliche, but this really is our best work ever. We put everything into this record, but actively decided not to stray too far from the path of ‘Here’s What You Could Have Won’, as we felt there was still more ground to be covered and honed on that vibe. Lyrically and musically, it’s more concise, meaningful and deliberate, which ties everything together really well; it feels like a collection of songs from the same family.”

To give fans a taste of what’s to come, Kid Kapichi has also released their latest single “Tamagotchi”, a track that pays homage to the ’90s. The song captures the essence of the era, with its nostalgic sound and catchy melodies. Accompanying the single is a captivating music video that further enhances the ’90s vibes.

The band’s most recent song was described by frontman Jack Wilson, he said, “Tamagotchi’ is a song about turning 30 and feeling for the first time like your life is running away from you. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve found myself being more nostalgic about the past and the ‘good times’. This song is a homage to those times and fond memories whilst stubbornly clawing onto them.”

Jack added, “Tamagotchi’ is probably one of the most fun videos we’ve ever shot, videos like these write themselves, when the imagery of the lyrics is so strong, so we didn’t mess about. We tried our best to replicate those feelings and memories we had when growing up.”

In addition to the album announcement and single release, Kid Kapichi has also confirmed an upcoming headline tour, much to the excitement of their fans. This tour will give audiences the opportunity to experience the band’s electrifying live performances and witness the new album’s songs come to life on stage. The band took to social media and said, “UK! Pre-sale for our tour starts tomorrow. Pre-order any format of ‘There Goes The Neighbourhood’ from our store to get access from 10am tomorrow morning!!”

The band added, “Speaking about that, the band added: “We are and always have been a live band. It’s exciting to release new singles, new albums and new videos, but for us, it’s always a way to just get out there and play bigger and better shows. That’s why we started playing music and it’s why we continue to do so. To be announcing our biggest headline tour of our careers to date is amazing. Playing venues like Kentish Town Forum has always been an ambition, and the fact we have the incredible fanbase that we do to make all this possible is a dream come true.”

With their unique sound and captivating energy, Kid Kapichi continues to solidify their place in the music industry. Their upcoming album promises to be a thrilling and dynamic collection of songs that showcase the band’s growth and evolution.

English singer-songwriter Nabihah Iqbal has announced a UK tour supporting the release of her latest album, Dreamer.

The LP, Iqbal’s second to date, was released on April 28th via Ninja Tune and has already attained a good deal of attention and affection in equal measure, with The Quietus praising the record’s “tripped-out sunburst euphoria“.

The five-date tour comes at the end of September, with the first gig in Glasgow at King Tut’s on the 22nd and the final show at EartH in London on the 30th.

London-based Iqbal’s music career began as an aside to her career as a legal professional; in 2013, whilst working as a human rights lawyer, she started releasing material under the alias Throwing Shade, with an initial focus on experimental electronic music. With the release, however, of her debut album, Weighing of the Heart, in 2017, came both a switch in identity and in genre; she had reverted to using her birth name for her musical identity, and had swayed gently towards a more indie rock sound.

Dreamer, as fans who will be in attendance at the series of shows will soon find out, offers a delve into both sets of genres that Iqbal has claimed for herself. The dance floor oriented electronic music that made Throwing Shades known in the first place presents itself again in the tracks “Sunflower“, “Gentle Heart” and “Sky River” in the form of groovy tech-house, while “The World Couldn’t See Us” brings with it an 80s new wave, The Cure-esque vibe, with its fast-paced drums and guitars complimenting each other exquisitely.

The title track, “Dreamer“, another fast-paced and high-energy number, strewn together beautifully in a shoegaze fashion and adorned with Iqbal’s almost angelic vocals, certainly fits the title as it draws the listener in and envelopes them with its ethereal nature.
