Alanis Morissette unveiled details recently (March 9) of her upcoming UK and Ireland tour. The dates are the rescheduled dates for the 25th-anniversary celebrations of her acclaimed album ‘Jagged Little Pill’. The original tour had to be cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The shows were originally intended to take place in autumn of 2020 but were then moved to October 2021 and November 2021 before being cancelled once more. Last October, Morissette wrote on Twitter: “Stay tuned for the rescheduled dates (coming very soon), and please hold onto your tickets as they will be valid for the new ones. I can’t wait to see you each as soon as we possibly can.”

The tour is now set to take place in June with Morissette performing across Glasgow, Dublin, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester before two huge shows at the O2, London. She will also be supported by the English singer-songwriter Beth Orten known for her unique style of “folktornica” a blend of folk and electronica. The musician shared the news on her social media which you can see below:

The Canadian singer-songwriter has also just released a new song on March 11 called “Olive Branch” via RCA Records UK. It was co-written by Morissette and Michael Farrell, and produced by Michael Farrell and Henrik Jakobsson.

The song is an apologetic and raw piano centric ballad where Morissette reflects on a drama-ridden friendship and apologises for her wrongdoings and offers an “olive branch” to her friend. The “Ironic” singer vocalises these feelings with the words “I’m so sorry, And mea culpa, I’m reaching out to make amends.” Fans may get to hear the latest release on the tour and you can check out the track here:

Alanis Morissette has postponed her previously rescheduled UK and European tour, which was set to celebrate 25 years of her seminal album Jagged Little Pill.

The shows were originally planned to take place in Autumn 2020, but were moved to October 2021. After that they were then moved to November because of the coronavirus pandemic.

However, yet again Morissette has been unable to go ahead with the tour. She has now announced that the gigs have again been postponed due to COVID travel restrictions. The new dates are also not yet confirmed.

The American singer/somgwriter posted on her social media accounts “Europe & UK missing you so much, traveling overseas from country to country is becoming increasingly challenging with three kids during a time like no other on this beautiful planet.”

She then added in a Twitter thread “I know things will shift – but for this moment – i am heartbroken to say that we have to postpone the upcoming UK and Europe shows in october & november 2021.” She continued “Stay tuned for the rescheduled dates (coming very soon), and please hold onto your tickets as they will be valid for the new ones. i can’t wait to see you each as soon as we possibly can.”

Morissette shares her children with hip hop star Souleye (Mario Treadway) and was set to visit Glasgow, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, London and Dublin on her tour. She was also due to play a number of European cities.

The Australian and New Zealand parts of the Jagged Little Pill shows were also previously rescheduled and will now take place next year in November 2022.

Morissette had Liz Phair scheduled as her support on the tour alongside Garbage. However Phair pulled out of the ‘Jagged Little Pill’ celebration due to “unforeseen circumstances”; and was replaced by Cat Power.

Phair wrote on her social media “Sadly, due to unforeseen circumstances, I won’t be able to join Alanis & Garbage on tour this summer,” Phair wrote on social media. “I’m incredibly disappointed as I was looking forward to seeing all of your beautiful faces.”

She then continued “Shoutout to Alanis, Garbage, and Cat Power, who I know will put on an incredible show. Hope to see you all soon.”

The news of the tours postponement comes just days after Alanis performed at the Hollywood Bowl in California this week.

Alanis Morissette has rescheduled her UK tour again, pushing it back to November 2021.Originally, the tour was scheduled for October 2020 to honour the 25th anniversary of her album ‘Jagged Little Pill,’ as well as the release of the her latest album ‘Such Pretty Forks in Road.’ It was then postponed to October 2021 due to the pandemic and now once more the pandemic has forced her to reschedule for November 2021.

While some legs of the tour have had shows cancelled, the UK will have new shows added to the list. The Canadian-American singer will now perform in Leeds, Glasgow and stay an additional night in London this fall for two consecutive nights at the O2. These cities join Birmingham and Manchester in getting to hear the live performances of the 47-year-old’s 1995 album, latest album and maybe even a brand new song.

Morissette just released a single yesterday (1 June) called ‘On the Road Again’ with legendary country singer Willie Nelson. It seems the longer ticket holders have to wait, the more reasons there are that the show will be a can’t-miss.

Morissette gained her fame after releasing her third studio album, ‘Jagged Little Pill’ in 1995, which stayed at number one on the UK charts for eleven weeks. Liz Phair who also achieved her success in the 90’s will accompany Morissette on her upcoming tour. As with many other postponed tours, tickets for previous dates (original or otherwise) will still be valid for the new dates, and those who wish for refunds will be directly contacted via email for their options.

For the three new shows, tickets will go on sale on Friday 4 June at 10am. The songwriter explained how things will work via Twitter yesterday: “tickets to all of the new shows go on sale this friday, june 4th, at 10am local time. mailing list pre-sale for all (except London) starts on June 3 at 10am local time.

Alanis Morissette has announced the revised dates for the upcoming tour, the ‘Jagged Little Pill‘ tour, to the autumn of 2021. The UK leg was supposed to kick off in this coming September, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all three shows are now pushed back to October 2021.

Last month, the queen of alternative rock decided to delay the ‘Jagged Little Pill‘ tour in the United States to Summer 2021, while retaining the dates for the UK and Ireland leg. It is now certain, however, that all three shows in the country are now affected by the ongoing crisis of COVID-19.

All UK shows will take place in October 2021, starting from Birmingham on October 18, London on October 20, and Manchester on October 22. American singer/songwriter Liz Phair will join all shows as an opening act.

Apart from the postponement of the new tour, Morissette will release the ninth studio album, ‘Such Pretty Forks in the Road‘, on July 31 after pushed back from the original date on May 1. The album is led by lead single “Reasons I Drink” and “Smiling“, a track from the Broadway Musical ‘Jagged Little Pill‘, as well as the latest emotionally-charged ballad “Diagnosis“.

To further commemorate the 25th anniversary of ground-breaking record ‘Jagged Little Pill‘, the 46-year-old singer will also drop a deluxe reissue of the LP and rare videos from her 1997 concert. The digital reissue will contain acoustic live records from Morissette’s show in London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire back in March. Listen to the new rendition of “Ironic” below.

She will also share a live film of her concert for the debut album in 1997. The film can be streamed on YouTube on June 28 at 5.30 PM BST. Elsewhere, all five music videos of ‘Jagged Little Pill”s singles are remastered in 4K and uploaded on the singer’s official YouTube channel.

Despite this unfortunate event regarding the North American leg, the seven-time Grammy Awards winning singer did not give out any updates on the UK leg. This means that Morissette’ fans here can still expect the shows to kick off this September. Starting on September 28, the “You Oughta Know” aggressor will perform at the O2 in London and move to play the second show at Utilita Arena in Birmingham in the next day, followed by the last one on October 4 at Arena in Manchester.

This upcoming ‘Jagged Little Pill‘ Tour is the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the record of the same name, released back in 1995. The LP has become one of the biggest selling albums of all time, with sales over 33 millions worldwide and multiple successful singles such as “You Oughta Know“, “Ironic“, and “Hand in My Pockets“. Among numerous accolades earned from this blockbuster record, the Brit Awards also named Morissette International Breakthrough Act in 1996.

In addition to the world tour, the 45-year-old singer will drop the ninth studio album ‘Such Pretty Forks in the Road‘ this year. It is Morissette’s first music in eight years since 2012’s ‘havoc and bright lights‘. “Reasons I Drink” is picked as the introduction of the singer’s new chapter; the song is a piano-rock ballad that tackles the issues of addiction and mental health, produced by Alex Hope who has worked with many current pop stars like Troye Sivan, Tegan and Sara, and Selena Gomez.

Originally planned for the release on May 1, ‘Such Pretty Forks in the Road‘ is now indefinitely pushed back. Similar to many artists who prepared to drop a new album this time around, Morissette announced on April 16 that she felt it was appropriate to “press pause” on the record being released.

The “Hands Clean” singer made it up to fans waiting for new music by sharing one more track off the LP, “Diagnosis“. The song continues the record’s emotional and mellow vibes, with its pure piano ballad and Morissette’s raw vocal sordidly belting about depression.

The ‘Jagged Little Pills’ Acoustic Performance is the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Morissette’s most iconic album Jagged Little Pills. The gig will be Morissette’s one-off show that allows her die-hard fans to have such an intimate experience of the singer’s performance of the songs from the record in an acoustic and live rendition. The show at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire is part of the world anniversary tour, which also includes dates around the United States and Europe. Unfortunately, London is the only city in the UK included in the European leg.

Jagged Little Pills is Alanis Morissette’s overall third album released back in 1995. The album, however, became an international breakthrough for the singer, building up her name to the stardom with massive angsty post-grunge tracks like “You Oughta Know”, “Ironic“, and “Hand in My Pocket“. Selling more than 33 million copies, Jagged Little Pills is immensely successful across the globe, making the album one of the most commercially successful albums in music history.

In addition to its commercial achievement, the killer record also swept multiple accolades from music critics and awards. Among the most remarkable nods are from Juno Awards and Grammy Awards that granted Jagged Little Pills with their biggest prizes. Furthermore, the album is listed in The Greatest Albums of All Time by Rolling Stone and many leading music critics.

The “You Learn” singer has become one of the most inspiring female artists in the history. She and the album have been frequently referred to as a significant musical inspiration for later female rockers in the music industry, such as fellow Canadian Avril Lavigne, P!nk, Michelle Branch, and Meredith Brooks.

Not only is Morissette touring for the album’s 25th anniversary, but Jagged Little Pills is also adapted into a Broadway musical. The musical is written by Diablo Cody, the writer of Juno (2007), Jennifer’s Body (2009), and Tully (2018). All songs from the smash record and some other songs from Morissette’s catalogue, along with new songs composed by Glenn Ballard (Jagged Little Pills‘s producer), are featured in the musical. It was already premiered in America last year and received much praise.

This year, the 45-year-old singer will also drop the ninth studio album titled Such Pretty Forks in the Road on May 1. Alex Hope (Selena Gomez, Tegan and Sara, and Troye Sivan) and Catherine Marks (Foals, Wolf Alice, and The Killers) are the producers of the album. “Reasons I Drink” is served as the first single, which is also Morissette’s first song in over eight years since the release of 2012’s havoc and bright lights.
