The Weeknd started out anonymously uploading songs to YouTube, gaining him popularity which he could later use to promote his music. His career really kicked off in 2013, with the release of his debut album ‘Kiss Land’, while his second album was the one that really gave him his big break. ‘Beauty Behind The Madness’ came out in 2015 and reached number 1 on the Billboard 200, with the singles ‘I Can’t Feel My Face’ and ‘The Hills’ topping the Billboard Hot 100. The album also won Best Urban Contemporary Album at the Grammys, now totalling three Grammy Awards overall.

After his last album ‘My Dear Melancholy’, the singer collaborated on songs with Gesaffelstein, as well as SZA and Travis Scott. He also recently made a cameo in the new film by the Safdie brothers’ which stars Adam Sandler.
