Ozzy Osbourne’s son, Jack Osbourne, has shared that his father will never tour again. Ozzy has been battling various health issues including Parkinson’s disease, with which he was diagnosed back in 2020.

Ozzy has not performed a full concert since 2018, however his son Jack says he’s still keen to do one-off shows. Talking to The Messenger, Jack said, “I don’t think he’ll tour again. But he’s gunning to do one-off shows — like festivals, gigs, things like that. He’s not done yet.”

Speaking on his health himself, Ozzy shared, “Unfortunately, my body is telling me that I’m just not ready [to perform] yet and I am much too proud to have the first show that I do in nearly five years be half-assed.” He released this statement following the cancellation of his slot at Power Festival in California, where he was set to headline alongside Metallica, AC/DC and Guns N’ Roses.

Ozzy also revealed on SiriusXM’s Ozzy Speaks that he recently had a blood clot removed from an artery. He said, “When I had the blood clots in my legs, they put a filter in your artery to stop the blood clots going to your heart and your brain. It sounds worse than it is.”

He continued, “So, on Monday, I went to have it removed. The blood clots have jammed you all up. It’s just disappointment after disappointment. Just get this thing fucking done so I can go get on with my life.”

Despite his multiple health concerns, Ozzy is keen to keep performing despite retiring from touring. He said, “You can’t retire from this game. It’s not a job, it’s a fucking passion.”

Ozzy has also announced his plans to record an LP in 2024, sharing, “I’m just starting to work on it now, and we’ll be recording in the early part of next year. I want to take my time with this one!”

He also took to social media to share the 40th Anniversary vinyl reissue of his iconic album, Bark at the Moon. The album was released on 15th November 1983 after the release of the titular track earlier on, becoming triple platnum in the US.

“Venus,” itself a cover by Dutch rock band Shocking Blue, was a considerable hit for Bananarama, making the dance floor hit a global sensation and earning the trio a top ten place in the UK charts. Now, Boys Noize has taken a turn reworking the single and has added his own, high speed spin on the track-ensuring the song is a hit on the dance floor once again.

Boys Noize of his newest release, “when the request came in I was quite excited to take this on. I really enjoyed the challenge making the classic work in my DJ sets, speeding it up and making it pop on new sound systems. Besides the vocals, some of the original worked really well in my new musical dress too-it’s really fun to play this one!”

Formed in London and Ireland in 1980, Bananarama were an unprecedented success for an all female pop/dance group, announcing themselves on the scene with a top ten collaboration with Fun Boy Three on “It Ain’t What You Do (It’s The Way That You Do It).” The group would have similar chart topping success throughout the 80s with songs such as “Cruel Summer,” “Love In The First Degree,” and “I Want You Back.”

The Haçienda was a cultural landmark that defined a colossal turning point in Britain’s passion for big nights out. The former warehouse standing at 11-13 Whitworth Street West may no longer even exist, but the fact that an honorary rave to celebrate its 40th anniversary in what is now a humble car park is surely testament to the Haçienda’s lasting legacy.

Co-owned by Factory Records and Manchester heroes New Order, the club first opened its doors in 1982 and saw many long nights before closing its doors in 1997. The area was later converted into the Haçienda Apartments in 2002 and has not seen much action like the mad old days.

However, as reported in the Manchester Evening News, the 40th-anniversary celebration will see the club’s founder invite residents of the area to come and share in the revelry, with letters signed by Peter Hook (Joy Division, New Order), Aaron Mellor and James Masters.

The letter detailed; “The Hacienda is revered as part of both Manchester’s and the UK’s musical history, returning to the original site of the club for the 40th anniversary will be very special for everyone, undoubtedly enhancing the reputation of the building. As you might be aware, FAC51 The Hacienda celebrates its 40th anniversary in May 2022, having opened its doors in May 1982 to create the legacy which has given the apartments their unique heritage and history. Some might remember or may even have attended the event which we did for the 30th anniversary in 2012 which was much praised and this event will be generally similar to our previous event in the car park. All proceeds from the event are to be donated directly to charities.”

A similar bash was put on for the Haçienda’s dirty 30, which was attended by a who’s who of Manchester music royalty, including names such as Bez (Happy Mondays), Mark E Smith (The Fall), and the original Haçienda DJs Graeme Park, Dave Haslam, Jon DaSilva and Hewan Clarke.

The vast underground basement car park space hosted around 500 people and this next decade will bring a new crowd to relive the glory of days gone by. The letter continues that they hope; “enthusiastic about the event” and adds; “It will generate worldwide attention and media on the building and be a great event for all concerned.”

Any official dates are yet to be released however formerly “The events, which are named X1, X2 and X3, will take place in late May and early June.”, with extra sets taking place in Sankeys to cap off proceedings at the party 10 years ago.
