The debut album by Oasis, ‘Definitely Maybe’, reached it’s landmark milestone of 25 years since it’s release back in 1994. The album was critically acclaimed, spawning some of their most infamous hits including ‘Live Forever’ and ‘Supersonic”. Now, a podcast, entitled ‘Listen Up, The Oasis Podcast’, has been unveiled to give exclusive insights behind the scenes into the band’s first musical effort together from those involved directly and indirectly with an album that many feel cemented the Britpop genre in the 1990’s.

The podcast includes testimonies from the band’s producer, Owen Morris, their engineer Anjali Dutt, including New Order bassist Peter Hook, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, Clint Boon, Felix White of The Maccabee’s, TV presenter Dermot O’Leary and politician Alistair Campbell.

In the opening twenty seconds of the podcast, that will play out across four parts, the narrator begins with the statement, “Ok, so we all know how the story goes right, August 1994, Definitely Maybe comes out, our lives are changed forever, Oasis become the greatest band on Earth”.

As well as the podcast, on August 27, Oasis revealed a lyric video for their classic hit ‘Fade Away’, to mark the milestone of their debut album, with a limited edition vinyl reissue set for release on August 30.

The anniversary celebration comes a day after Liam looked back on the 10 year anniversary since Oasis split on August 28 2009. The ‘Wonderwall’ hitmakers were mere minutes away from taking to the stage for a gig at Paris’ Rock en Seine Festival. An intense argument backstage resulted in Liam damaging a guitar belonging to Noel, which led to Noel quitting the gig and rather more dramatically, the band.

In an interview with Chris Moyles from Radio X, Liam said that “he still feels the pain”, but that “all was good” at the initial time of the split.

Yesterday, Liam released the music video for his new single, ‘One Of Us’, lifted from his second solo album, ‘Why Me, Why Not?’, out on September 20. He is set to play a 12 date arena tour throughout the UK in November.
