Figures consolidated from seven days after the 2026 BRIT Awards show that the UK’s biggest night in music reached a historic number of viewers, worldwide. Appearances from artists such as Harry Styles, Oliva Dean, Raye and Rosalía helped content from the ceremony reach audiences around the globe.

The show was hosted at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena, the BRITs first time taking place outside of London, and was broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX in the UK. It was also live-streamed on the ITV Youtube channel as well as on the BRITs Youtube channel for those not in the UK.

BRITs-owned social channels have seen a 70% increase in total views, in 2025 the total views stood at 249 million, whereas 2026 views are up to 423 million. Adding in BRITs performance content shared across artist channels, the total social view count amounts to over half a billion (506 million).

Giuseppe De Cristofano, RCA UK and BPI Director of Digital, said in a statement just after the ceremony, “We continue to see our strategy to make the BRITs global pay off as we bring the BRITs conversation to new young audiences around the world.”

A powerhouse of a performance lineup contributed to this global pay off and young audience connection, as well. The night included Harry Styles’ return to performance after three years on break, Olivia Dean showcasing her hit ‘Man I Need,’ global star Rosalía playing her song ‘Berghain’ with a surprise appearance from Björk, K-Pop Demon Hunters group Huntr/x performing ‘Golden,’ and several more.

The live performance debut of Styles’ ‘Aperture’ at the BRITs has received over 70 million views across all platforms, shared by both BRITs and Styles’ accounts. Rosalía’s ‘Berghain’ performance collected over 80 million views, with the performance posted to both the BRITs and the singer’s channels. And Olivia Dean, who took home four awards as the night’s biggest winner, saw over 40 million views of only her performance content.

Views on the BRITs Instagram account saw a 227% increase from 2025, launching from 74 million to 242 million. The BRIT official Instagram account has also surpassed one million followers. And on Facebook, views went up 90%, from 71 million in 2025 to 135 million in 2026. Meanwhile, the BRITs TikTok account saw 27 million views.

The BRITs continued their partnership with Meta, which began in 2025. This partnership saw Meta facilitate a number of features for the night on WhatsApp as well as support on Youtube, Instagram and Facebook. On WhatsApp, there was an official BRITs channel, exclusive content released, and the ability for the public to vote for Song of the Year and International Song of the Year on the platform.

Live-streamed coverage of the ceremony on the BRITs Youtube channel for international viewers reached one million views in just 24 hours. This is an increase of 135% from 2025. This is also the highest number of viewers outside the UK since 2021. Music Week reports viewers tuned in “from the US, Mexico, Brazil and elsewhere.”

Over seven days, across ITV’s linear channels, Youtube and ITVX, the ceremony saw a multi-platform audience of 6.3 million viewers. 2026 also marked the first year that UK viewers could stream the award show on Youtube.

The digital campaign for the BRIT Awards was lead by Edd Blower, Director, audience strategy & growth, and Giuseppe De Cristofano, who also jointly co-chaired the BRIT Awards 2026 Digital Committee with content agency, Cold Glass Productions.

Spanish superstar Rosalîa Tobella, best known as, Rosalîa brought her atypical fourth studio record. ‘LUX’ to the stage at the BRIT Awards on Saturday. Making for an original breathtaking display of talent. The orchestrated performance set the stage for Björk’s incredible return, making for the Icelandic singer-songwriters first performance in 3 years.

Rosalîa delivered a dramatic performance of her show-stopping single, ‘Berghain’ to a packed CO-OP Live Arena, this performance marks the very first time the song has been performed live, notably by both collaborators, it has undoubtedly set the standards high for future performances. A celebration of international artists in of itself, the performance is guaranteed to move anyone who watches it, if you haven’t watched it already its well worth your time.

Taking the breath of each attendee, Rosalîa was donned in a magnificent white dress singing alongside a supporting background of singers. The first half of the song highlighted the vocal abilities of the spanish singer-songwriter, homing in on the operatic elements of the song. The crowded stage of singers parted to reveal Bjork in cathartic blue attire, performing her section of ‘Berghain’ in the latter part of the song. Finalising the magnificent performance the crew of signers and dancers erupted into movement alongside both female vocalists displaying a pure celebration of joy and an international win.

The performance came in support of Rosalîa’s latest body of work, ‘LUX.’ The record released on November 7, 2025, featuring the London Symphony Orchestra blends pop with wondrous classical elements, exploring heavy themes of transformation and spirituality. The record features generationally beautiful collaborations from Bjork, Pharrell Wlliams, Estelle Morenta and Caroline Shaw. Littered with songs inspired by a variety of female saints and Rosalîa’s own relationship with God, it is an incredible deep dive into the psyche of said artist. The lead single, ‘Berghain’ received unanimous acclaim from multiple music critics citing its ambition and aromas use of orchestral sound. ‘Lux’ later became the second best-reviewed album of 2025 on Metacritic as well as being the website eighteenth best album of all time despite its recent release.

Winning her first BRIT award for international artist, Rosalia made history as the first spanish speaking act to take the award home. A presence of royalty in a room full of artists, there is not doubt we will be receiving more incredible bodies of work from Rosalîa in the near future.

Throughout the night, the BRITS also saw performances from Harry Styles, Olivia Dean, Alex Warren, Sombr and Mark Ronson. Rosalîa has far more tricks up of her sleeve in the wake of her worldwide fourth tour.

In support of ‘LUX,’ Rosalia announced she would embark on an arena world tour beginning in March of this year and finalising in September. 42 shows are currently scheduled across seventeen countries in Europe, North America and South America so make sure you catch her at one of the dates if you liked what you saw on display at the BRITS. Rosalîa is a spell bounding example of why it’s so important to highlight international voices not only in the BRITS but in the music scene all together.

Attributed to the success of their recent album Getting Killed (2025), this is the first award the group has won in their decade of creating music.

The Brooklyn-based group began making music together in 2016, led by frontman Cameron Winter. Though the group have been meticulously crafting and perfecting three studio albums over the last 10 years, the enigmatic Getting Killed (2025) was the one to pull them into the spotlight. A melting pot of experimental rock, post-punk, funk and country blues, Geese have gripped millions of listeners worldwide with their unconventional sound. The album received critical acclaim after its release in September last year and was named Best Album of 2025 by NME.

Geese-drummer Max Bassin accepted the award on the group’s behalf. In his speech, he expressed solidarity with Palestine and condolences to Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield, who passed away in November 2025.

“What up the Brits! I just want to say, free Palestine, f*ck ICE, RIP Mani, let’s go Geese.”

Amongst other historic international nominees was Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalía, the Catalan-star behind 2025 hit ‘Berghain’. Awarded International Artist of the Year, she surpassed music-giants Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter. In a ceremony dominated by 4-time winner Olivia Olivia Dean, Rosalía has been described for her first ever win as an “underdog“.

International Song of The Year winners Bruno Mars and Rosé triumphed over Chappell Roan, Lady Gaga and Sombr and many other chart-topping artists with their hit ‘APT’. The title was awarded according to votes from the public via WhatsApp and their win saw Rosé making history as the first ever K-Pop award winner in BRITs history. This, along with a performance by Huntr/X of Golden from the movie KPop Demon Hunters, saw K-pop represented more than ever in the ceremony.

This year’s BRITs saw many historic wins and special moments for artists and the ceremony itself. Held in Manchester, leaving London for the first time in 47 years, the ceremony featured many special dedications to the late-Manchester legend Mani, who rocked in The Stone Roses and Primal Scream.

Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away in July 2025, was given a lifetime achievement award. Widow Sharon Osbourne accepted the award on the late-rockstar’s behalf, who honoured him as “authentic, gifted, totally unpredictable, a wild man, a true artist”. The awards ceremony closed with a tribute to Osbourne, a performance ‘No More Tears’ led by Robbie Williams and band featuring Metallica’s Robert Trujillo and Ozzy guitarist Zakk Wylde.

Pop star Olivia Dean and singer-songwriter Sam Fender took home the 2026 BRIT Award for Song of the Year with their hit, ‘Rein Me In.’ Both Dean and Fender accepted the award at Saturday’s ceremony in Manchester. Dean said, in their joint speech, ‘I just want to say thank you to Sam, I think this is a beautiful song, it’s just been a pleasure to be a part of it.’ And Fender added, ‘I love this song, I wrote it about four years ago, and I loved it then, and Olivia made it her own, and I just want to say thank you to Olivia and her fans.’

The full video of their acceptance can be seen below.

‘Rein Me In’ was released on the deluxe edition of Fender’s album, ‘People Watching.’ Before Dean joined the remix, it was originally the eighth track on the album. The BRIT Award-winning remix debuted on 6 June during a show at London Stadium, with Dean brought on stage to perform. The song, featuring Dean, was then recorded in studio and released on 20 June, including a verse written by Dean. Fender said ‘If I collaborate with another artist on one of my songs, I prefer they write a new part and make it their own, rather than singing whatever I’ve already written.’ He added that ‘Olivia added a female perspective to ‘Rein Me In’, and I think it’s all the better for it. Sharing the stage with her over these last few stadium shows has been a joy.’ Dean added, ‘’Rein Me In’ is my favourite song on Sam’s album, so it was a pleasure to write a new verse from a female perspective. I’ve been a fan of Sam’s for a while now, so I’m so pleased we got to work together on this duet.’ Clash Magazine says the remixed ‘Rein Me in’ ‘takes on tender new tones’ as well as ‘bringing out different shades within Sam Fender’s voice.’

The song has spent a staggering 35 weeks on the Official Charts Top 40 before reaching Number 1. This breaks a record of 19 weeks previously held by Ed Sheeran’s ‘Thinking Out Loud.’ Having been an occupant of the Top 40 since June 2025, it previously saw three separate peaks at number 5.

The win for ‘Rein Me In’ serves as a victory lap on a wildly successful year for both Fender and Dean, independently. In 2025 Fender won the Mercury Prize for ‘People Watching.’ The Mercury Prize judging panel said the album was recognized for ‘its cohesion, character and ambition’ and the album ‘will take pride of place in record collections for years to come.’

Also in 2025, Dean won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Her tearful acceptance speech was a tribute to her family, saying, ‘I’m up here as a granddaughter of an immigrant,’ and ‘I am a product of bravery and those people deserve to be celebrated.’

The BRIT Awards official page calls ‘Rein Me In’ ‘one of the defining tracks of the past year.’

Other Song of the Year Nominees at the BRIT Awards include Ed Sheeran for ‘Azizam,’ Lola Young for ‘Messy,’ Lewis Capaldi for ‘Survive’ and more.

Fender also won Best Alternative/Rock Act on Saturday night. While Dean also took home the BRIT Awards for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (for ‘The Art of Loving’) and Best Pop Act. Her four wins makes her the night’s most awarded artist.

Not all passengers have been so excited by the change. Some travellers took to X the afternoon the signage was installed, voicing concerns and complaints. One user called the renaming ‘a project designed to confuse tourists and those who rely on these signs including PRM.’ Another user responded, echoing frustrations, saying renaming stations for holidays or other events ‘doesn’t really help non English speakers or those with disabilities.’ Northern responded to the original complaint saying ‘I am sorry for any confusion, this has been done to celebrate the BRIT Awards and the signs will change back after.’

Dean has racked up five nominations, making her one of the most nominated artists of the 2026 BRITs. Her nominations include Artist of the Year, Song of the Year for ‘Man I Need’ and Album of the Year for ‘The Art of Loving.’

As just her sophomore album, ‘The Art of Loving’ has continued Dean’s meteoric rise to worldwide popularity. Debuting at Number 1 on the UK Albums chart with 52, 366 album-equivalent units sold, it was Dean’s first number-one album and the biggest debut for a British female solo artist since Adele’s ’30.’ Following this success, the singer took home the Grammy Award for Best New Artist earlier this year.

Manchester Evening News reported that ahead of the BRITs, Dean will play Manchester’s Albert Hall, an intimate show apart of the official BRITs Week celebrations. This show comes as part of a two-night series of sets in partnership with charity War Child and The Warehouse Project. All proceeds from the sets will go to benefitting War Child’s work providing emergency aid, mental health support and campaigning for the rights of children affected by war worldwide.

‘Oliva Deansgate’ Station and the War Child benefit concerts are all a part of a wide range of cultural events the city of Manchester is holding this week to celebrate the BRITs. The BRIT Awards official page detailing the culture events notes Manchester as a ‘vibrant creative community.’ Elsewhere on their site, the say the city has ‘deep and rich roots in music’ and the BRIT Awards will be ‘a welcome addition to its music legacy.’

The 2026 BRIT Awards with Mastercard will take place Saturday February 28 and will be broadcast in the UK on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player. Performances from the ceremony will be shared on YouTube, for international audiences.
