Lola Young has announced the cancellation of all her upcoming live appearances following a sudden collapse during her performance at All Things Go Festival in New York over the weekend.

The 24-year-old South London artist, known for tracks like “Messy” and “One Thing,” was performing at Forest Hills Stadium when she lost her balance and fell backwards on stage, prompting concern from fans and crew. She was unable to complete the set, and her scheduled appearance the following day in Washington DC was also pulled.

Now, in a statement shared via social media, Young confirmed she’s stepping away from the spotlight for the time being. She cited the need to prioritise her health and wellbeing, and expressed gratitude to fans for their ongoing support. Ticket holders for upcoming shows have been promised full refunds.

The post, which was shared three days after her collapse, says:

“I’m going away for a while. It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future. Thank you for all the love and support. I’m so sorry to let anyone down who has bought a ticket to see me, it hurts me more than you know.”

“Obviously you will be entitled to a full refund.”

“I really hope you’ll give me a second chance once I’ve had some time to work on myself and come back stronger. Love you all, Lola x.”

The comment section was full of fans and celebrities alike showing love to the artist. Stormzy, Teddy Swims and Rachel Chinouriori were amongst the supportive messages.

The cancellations will include the artists’ gigs in the UK which were set to take place this month.

Young’s recent work hasn’t gone unnoticed — her music video for “One Thing” has just been shortlisted for Best Pop Video at the 2025 UK Music Video Awards.

Young has been steadily gaining momentum over the past few years, known for her raw lyricism, genre-blurring sound and emotionally charged performances. While the sudden hiatus may come as a disappointment to many, there’s hope she’ll return stronger when ready.

No new dates have been confirmed thus far.

Former Smiths frontman, Morrissey, was this week forced to cancel both his Boston and Mashantucket shows over the weekend.

The singer, 66, was scheduled to perform at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, on Friday night, followed by a sold out show at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston, Massachusetts, on Saturday.

The threat was reportedly made by Ottawa local Steven Castellano, who has since been released on bail.

It’s reported by the Ottawa Citizen that the post came from a Bluesky account under the name “guy who gets shot in the head one hundred thousand times a day”,

“Steven Patrick Morrissey when you perform at TD Place here in Ottawa next week on the evening of September 12th, 2025 at about 9pm, I will be present at the venue in the audience and I will attempt to shoot you many times and kill you with a very large gun that I own illegally.”

As a result of this Morrissey took to his Facebook to announce the cancellations of both his Connecticut and Massachusetts shows, calling the threat on his life, ‘credible.’

The statement read as follows: “In recent days, there has been a credible threat on Morrissey’s life. Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both the artist and audience, tonight’s engagement at Foxwoods has been cancelled. We appreciate your understanding.”

A further post then confirmed the second cancellation.

Despite not specifying what recent events were considered in the decision, the shows come just one week after the shooting of Activist Charlie Kirk in Utah.

So far there is no announcement on the gigs being rescheduled, but fans with tickets have been told that refund procedures are being conducted.

Morrissey’s tour will continue when he takes the stage in Philadelphia on September 23.

Dublin noise-punk band Gurriers have returned with a brand-new single, ‘Erasure’ – their first release since last year’s acclaimed debut album ‘Come And See’.

The track, unveiled today, showcases the band’s uncompromising sound and lyrical intensity. The song brims with distortion and urgency. ‘”Erasure’ is a chaotic mash of genres, an unwavering cry into the void in the face of imperialism and tyranny,” frontman Dan Hoff said of the new single in a press release.

The single reunites the band with Alex Greaves, who produced ‘Come And See’, while mixing duties were handled by Pelle Gunnerfeldt. To accompany the track, Gurriers have also shared a stark new video directed by Adam Hart – who previously worked with them on ‘Top Of The Bill’. Set inside the offices of a sinister security agency, the clip mirrors the track’s dark themes of surveillance and control.

‘Erasure’ arrives ahead of a busy run of live dates for the band. Next Thursday (September 18), Gurriers will open for Kneecap at London’s Wembley Arena – their biggest UK show to date. From there, the band will embark on a headline tour across the UK in October, with stops in Glasgow, Leeds, Cardiff, Birmingham, Bristol, Margate, Portsmouth, Oxford and Cambridge.

The tour continues into Europe before Gurriers return home for a packed run of Irish dates. They’ll play Cork’s Cyprus Avenue on December 18, followed by two sold-out shows at Dublin’s Button Factory (December 19–20) and a Belfast date at Limelight on December 21. Looking further ahead, the band are set to launch their first-ever North American tour in March 2026.

Since the release of ‘Come And See’, Gurriers have established themselves as one of Ireland’s most electrifying new bands, known for their frenetic live shows and politically charged songwriting. ‘Erasure’ marks the beginning of their next chapter – one that seems destined to take their raw and restless energy to bigger stages around the world. ‘Erasure’ is out now across all streaming platforms and can be accessed here.

The band have also announced an album launch show at the Jacaranda Baltic, a venue within Cains Brewery in Liverpool. This show was initially to be held on August 20, just before the official release of the album, though it was delayed due to illness and will now be held on November 4. The Jacaranda Baltic is a 400-capacity basement venue and will provide an intimate space to sample the band’s new release. Tickets will also include a copy of the album on CD or Vinyl.

Royel Otis achieved fame when their cover of Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s ‘Murder On The Dancefloor’, shown on triple j’s show Like A Version‘ became viral on YouTube and TikTok. See the performance below:

Royel Otis performed at Reading and Leeds festival this year and surprised festival-goers at Reading when Sophie Ellis-Bextor made a surprise cameo during the band’s performance of the viral cover. Royel Otis also performed a viral cover of ‘Linger’ by The Cranberries, released on SiriusXM’s YouTube channel. The band are now ready to push their original material. In a recent interview with NME, Royel Maddell said “It’s so hard, because ‘Murder…’ gets everyone hyped and ‘Linger’ gets everyone singing along, which makes us feel better. It’d be nice to not do them – not because we don’t like the songs, but because they’re not our songs, it feels like a cop out, sometimes.”.

‘(hickey)‘, the new album released by the band, contains only original music and is being celebrated by fans. The first single released, ‘Moody’, is a catchy guitar-pop song though recently garnered controversy due to accusations of misogyny in the lyrics by using derogatory terms for women in the chorus of the song. On August 22, Royel Otis released the latest single from the new album ‘who’s your boyfriend’ as well as uploading a music video to YouTube featuring Lola Tung, best known as Belly Conklin from the Amazon Prime series The Summer I Turned Pretty. See the music video below:

The album is available on Royal Otis’ official website and include an art card signed by the band.

The band’s manager, Ron Smallwood, recently shared a post on the band’s website titled “Put away your phones and get ready to Run For Your Lives!”, where he advised attendees of the upcoming tour to experience the shows “in the moment” rather than through their phone cameras.

“We really want fans to enjoy the shows first hand, rather than on their small screens,” said Smallwood. “The amount of phone use nowadays diminishes enjoyment, particularly for the band who are on stage looking out at rows of phones, but also for other concertgoers.

“We feel that the passion and involvement of our fans at shows really makes them special, but the phone obsession has now got so out of hand that it has become unnecessarily distracting, especially to the band. I hope fans understand this and will be sensible in severely limiting the use of their phone cameras out of respect for the band and their fellow fans.”

The European and UK tour will be starting off in Budapest on Tuesday, May 27. The metal heavyweights will travel through Slovakia, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland in June, before playing gigs at Malahide Castle in Dublin on June 25, London Stadium on Jun 28, and the OVO Hyrdro in Glasgow on June 30.

The ‘Run For Your Lives’ tour, with its title referencing the Maiden classic ‘Run To The Hills’, will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the band, featureing a setlist made up exclusively of songs from their first nine albums: fans can expect classics from records such as ‘The Number of the Beast’ and ‘Powerslave’. Frontman Bruce Dickinson has teased that these sets will see the band “doing stuff we’ve never, ever done before.”

The metal legends are one of the most influential acts in the genre. Pioneers of the new wave of British heavy metal in the late 70’s, their galloping drums, melodic twin guitars and powerful vocals saw the band carve out their signature sound. Musicians from Metallica, Anthrax, Avenged Sevenfold and Dream Theater have all cited the group as an inspiration.

The tour will also see the debut of Maiden’s new drummer, Simon Dawson. In an interview with Blabbermouth.net, Bruce Dickinson said he was “pleasantly shocked” with the new drummer’s skills upon rehearsal. Their long-standing drummer Nicko McBrain announced his retirement from touring in December, after suffering from a stroke which left him partially paralysed on his right side from the shoulder down.

All dates and tickets for Iron Maiden’s upcoming tour can be found on the band’s website here.

The headline spot has come from a surge in popularity and growth for the band since their debut album ‘POSTINDUSTRIAL HOMETOWN BLUES’ in 2024. In an interview with Dork Magazine after its release, they found themselves struck by their newfound fame, stating: “We never thought we’d get out of the Birmingham scene, to be honest […] people in the South understanding what we’re on about just never occurred to me.”

The band’s roots have been important to the culmination of their sound and discography. Hicklin explains this with his lyrical inspiration from the poet Liz Berry. Hicklin says: “She’s a poet from the Black Country who writes in our dialect, and it made me think about using that a bit more.”

‘POSTINDUSTRIAL HOMETOWN BLUES’ is a soulful punk declaration from working class born voices featuring 15 raucous and vulnerable tracks.

Big Special are making their mark in the media with political rawness. Their song ‘Shithouse’ has recently featured in the latest season of hit speculative-fiction Netflix series Black Mirror. Known for its showcase of the underbelly of society, the show was a fitting place to home their stark, hard-hitting single.

In an interview with Buzzmag, the band shared their thoughts on being labelled as a working class band and the trend of claiming these identities in the music industry. They share their experience, explaining “you’d have the awkward ‘Yeah I’m from Birmingham’ thing. Now, the funny flip is that when we meet other bands, they’re really embarrassed to tell us they’re from Surrey…”. Moloney goes on to say: “We never set out to be a working-class band. We’re just a band that’s giving an honest reflection of our lives.”

Big Special’s live performances are standout punk experiences that embrace authenticity with the band performing vulnerable tracks without glamour or gimmicks. The band have posted videos from their live gigs on YouTube.

Legendary rock band My Chemical Romance have just released a performance of their breakout single ‘I’m Not Okay (I Promise)’, recorded for the BBC in 2005. The emo icons uploaded the 20-year-old recording on digital streaming platforms and YouTube, adding in its description that the tune will be on a deluxe edition of their second album, ‘Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge’. It’ll be the 21st anniversary of the record’s release on June 8 this year.

The performance was recorded for “The Lock Up”, a BBC Radio 1 music show hosted by Mike Davies, airing from 2002 to 2014. It focused on punk, hardcore, and underground rock, featuring both emerging and established artists.

My Chem have been building anticipation for their upcoming ‘Long Live The Black Parade’ tour, which will see the New Jersey rockers play their conceptual masterpiece ‘The Black Parade’ in full. The eleven dates will also host the band’s choice of hand-picked support acts, including Alice Cooper, Garbage, Pixies, Evanescence, Death Cab for Cutie, 100 Gecs, Violent Femmes, DEVO and Idles.

Gearing up for the reunion tour, which sold out within hours of it going on sale, the band have been dropping cryptic teaser videos, showing imagery such as Soviet-esque soldiers stepping out to a roaring crowd. Their latest teaser video shows a dog being fed a banquet by the same soldiers at a table of five chairs – fans have been hopefully speculating that this could represent a fifth album.

The video’s caption reads: “The Black Parade North American Tour production is set. Additional tickets available April 4 @ 10AM PST/1PM EST. Link in bio.”

Recently, guitarist Frank Iero was asked by Kerrang about the possibility of the tour hitting British venues in the future. He shared his love for their UK fanbase, while keeping his lips sealed as to whether the tour would reach here from across the pond.

“It’s been long-documented that we are huge fans of the UK – this is a home away from home for us. We’ve done things where the first place we played for a record release was the UK. It’s always felt like a place that we love and that we hold very dear. But, to tell the future? It would be remiss to do that.”

While the band have enjoyed continued support from their loyal fanbase and a lasting legacy since their official disbandment in 2013, it hasn’t come without its hardships. Last November saw the passing of former drummer Bob Bryar, a member of the band from 2004-2010. The musician was found dead in his Tennessee home aged 44.

Upon the tragic death of their old bandmate, the band released a statement offering their commiserations to his loved ones and honouring his part in the groups history: “It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Bob Bryar, our former bandmate and an important part of the history of My Chemical Romance. We send our deepest condolences to his friends and family at this time. May he rest in peace”

The dates for the upcoming My Chemical Romance 2025 tour dates are as follows –

Slacker rocker Mac DeMarco is set to return to the UK later this year, announcing six dates in England and two more in Ireland as part of a wider North American and European tour. The whole tour is in support of an upcoming album which will drop in August. The tour will mark his first full UK run post-pandemic, and tickets go on pre-sale this Friday (11 April) at 10am via Ticketmaster.

The UK leg of the tour will begin on 8 November in Birmingham, before shows in Brighton, London, Cambridge, Bristol and Manchester. Outside of the UK, DeMarco will kick off the tour with 13 dates in the States, starting on 29 August in Los Angeles. He will then travel to Europe and begin a run of 11 shows, starting in Amsterdam on 21 October, before visiting the UK. Following the last show in Manchester, the ‘Ode to Viceroy’ singer will hop across the Irish Sea for two shows in Dublin on 17 and 18 November. The last leg of the tour will see DeMarco play across Canada, ending the tour near his hometown on 19 December in Victoria, BC.

UK fans of the self-styled ‘jizz-jazz’ musician have found shows hard to come by in the 2020’s, with his only three shows this decade coming in 2023, when he held a three-night residency at Hackney Empire. Before then, he played 19 shows in the UK in 2019, including a Glastonbury set. The increased capacity of the recently announced venues compared to the Hackney Empire seems to indicate an expectation that the shows will face high demand from fans who haven’t seen him for nearly five years.

With the upcoming album shrouded in mystery, fans are left to wonder which DeMarco we will get. His most recent releases show a continued shift towards stripped-back, minimalistic music, but he is still the artist that gave us some of the most iconic alternative songs of the 2010s, including ‘Chamber of Reflection’, ‘Freaking Out the Neighbourhood’, and ‘My Kind of Woman’. The only certainty is to expect the unexpected.

The announcement video on his Instagram page, @macsrecordlabel, was typical of the musician, who has become known for his surreal humour. Mac uploaded a video of himself contorting his face into something difficult to put into words, before showing two short posters for tour dates. He simply captioned the post “Going on tour. Album out in August. C U THERE. tickets in bio.” No support acts have been revealed as of yet, but with almost six months to go, there’s plenty of time for announcements to be made.

Currently ranked as the 385th most popular artist on Spotify, tickets for Mac DeMarco are expected to sell out fast, especially outside of London. Even with his upcoming album, Mac always revisits his back catalogue, meaning fans can rest assured that he will play all of his biggest hits.

85 year old musical legend Tom Jones has been said to be embarking on an upcoming documentary project with BBC to tell his story after seven decades in the music industry. The documentary will be part of the BBC One’s ‘In My Own Words’ series which has featured artists such as novelist and filmmaker Hanif Kureishi, comedian Sir Billy Connally and notable artist Alison Lapper.

Jones’ mark on the music scene has been ongoing and impactful throughout his career claiming thirty six UK top 40 hits. The Welsh born singer has delved into a plethora of genres, including soul, pop, country, R&B, dance and gospel. His most popular tracks revel in sex appeal, with dance-pop ‘She’s a lady’ from 1971 album ‘She’s a lady’ peaking at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart after its release. Similarly, ‘Sex bomb’ from 1999 album ‘Reload’ showcased the singer’s dance-pop R&B sound.

Otherwise, the singer’s emotional country tracks are equally loved and cherished with ‘Green green grass of home’ remaining a widely loved track since its 1967 release.

Whilst its release is notably dated, it still strikes a chord with the public and many continue to relish in Jones’ soulful vulnerability.

Tom, your legendary voice still has that magic! Keep enchanting us! Tom Jones – Green Green Grass of Home pic.twitter.com/1ZuQkx8ODk

Jones’ proven dance R&B sound and proud country influence has been remarkable throughout his career. The singer has continued to release albums to this high regard and standard of musical integrity with his 38th studio album ‘Praise and Blame’. The release pays tribute to his blues, gospel influence, with heartfelt songs such as ‘Burning Hell’ which has accumulated over 2m listens since its 2010 release. The singer’s UK success compares vastly to his status in the US with hit single ‘It’s not Unusual’ at number 10 in US Billboard Hot 100 and peaking at number one in the UK Billboard charts in 1965. It will be undoubtedly fascinating to hear from Tom Jones himself how he came to move into multiple musical styles throughout his discography. Jones still provides for his die-hard fans with an upcoming performance at Greenwich Summer Sounds. Additionally, he will perform at Bute Park, Cardiff this summer, his only Welsh Headline concert as part of the 2025 Defy Explanation Tour. The Tour will showcase his biggest hits as well as latest tracks from his latest 2021 album ‘Surrounded By Time’.
The BBC Documentary will be the third of his films, with his first being the musical film ‘Tom Jones: Live at Cardiff Castle’ premiering in 2002, and following BBC Documentaries ‘Tom Jones’s 1950s: The Decade That Made Me’ and ‘Tom Jones on the 50s: Rock Around The Clock ‘hit me like a tonne of bricks’’, where he discusses his childhood, adolescence and influence from his generation of music. However, the ‘In My Own Words’ series focusses largely on storytelling of artists’ lives, thus viewers should hope to see more of the singer’s upbringing, struggles and triumphs throughout his life and career. The soul singer gears up for his upcoming projects with a post commemorating past performance on R&B classic ‘Tom Jones International’.

Cole made the announcement on Instagram last week, a day after playing a sold-out show at London’s Jazz Café on Thursday, March 27. He wrote: “Last night was absolutely incredible. Thank you so much to everyone that came through (will be saying more about how special it was soon).”

“It’s made me even more excited to announce this… I’ll be heading on the road this December to play my biggest ever live shows, which will include some VERY special guests at each show.”

‘Sincere’ is a highly praised album within the UK dance scene, being one of the first full-length releases to push garage into the mainstream spotlight. Its moving mix of 2-step beats and soulful instrumentation put a more emotive spin on the rising genre. It was a breakthrough for the garage genre, with its title track ‘Sincere’ being one of the first to break into the Top 40. ‘Crazy Love’ peaked at No. 10 on the UK Singles Chart.

The album managed to get MJ Cole a nomination for the Mercury Prize in 2000, and he also won the “Best Producer” award at the MOBO’s the following year.
In a retrospective review of the album, Passion Of The Weiss said: “While Cole’s peers like Wookie and Zed Bias had deeper basslines or knottier drum patterns, Cole was the undisputed master of UK Garage at its most sophisticated and seductive. His star making hit single and an undisputed top 5 Garage anthem, “Sincere,” is a microcosm of everything that allowed the genre to take London by storm. ”

Since then, he’s kept his spot as one of garage’s titans, releasing two more albums – ‘Cut To The Chase’ in 2003 and ‘MJ Cole Presents Madrugada’ in 2020, as well as dropping other new music in between. He’s also worked as a producer and remixer with some big names including Amy Winehouse, Dizzee Rascal, Mary J. Blige, Stormzy, Alicia Keys, Katy B and more.
