All Points East has quickly established itself as one of London’s premier music festivals since launching in 2018, featuring consistently impressive line-ups. Over the years, Victoria Park has hosted headline performances from some of the biggest names in contemporary music, including The Chemical Brothers, Tame Impala, Gorillaz, LCD Soundsystem, The Strokes, The xx, Stormzy, and Björk. The festival was seeing his second birthday this year, right after freshly new released album from the Doncaster singer, ‘Idols’. The event, curated by the singer, saw him deliver a full headline performance which cemented him in the industry as a fantastic live act even more.

The festival, co-headlined by Chase Atlantic, featured a lineup including Denzel Curry, Blackbear and Rachel Chinouri. True to its promise, Bludfest festival kept accessibly priced tickets and community spots like the ‘Make A Friend’ tent which emphasises the ethos that the festival is “for the people”.

Yungblud’s set was a whirlwind of energy and tunes. In the middle of his set, the northerner got emotional whilst talking about his latest album, a project of four years in the making, he said: “I was so f***ing nervous to release this album… but to see the amount of love that you are giving it… I love you all so much.”

Another powerful moment saw Yungblud urge his fans to donate to War Child, speaking about how there are children in countries such as Palestine and Ukraine, unfairly stuck in the middle of wars they have nothing to do with and being wrongly murdered.

The night was full of surprises and even saw the appearance of rock legend Billy Idol, who joined Yungblud for a rendition of his famous tunes ‘White Wedding’. Yungblud declared his intention to bring an iconic figure to the festival every year. The night concluded with stadium-ready anthems like ‘Ghosts’ and ‘Zombie’, leaving Yungblud to declare, “I’ll remember this night forever.”

Other acts such as Chase Atlantic delivered energised and fun sets with lead singer Mitchel Cave acknowleding the heat and making sure the crowd was feeling okay and also praising Yungblud for the event. Earlier in the day, the main stage hosted electric performances from Luvcat, Elin Hall, and NXDIA. The second stage saw acclaimed sets from Peach PRC, Nieve Ella, and Master Peace, with The Cliffords and Reece Young also celebrating unforgettable performances.

Sŵn Festival takes place across multiple venues over two weeks with a spellbinding collection of gigs, installations, pop-ups and more. The event will hit these venues: Tramshed, Clwb Ifor Bach, St John’s Church, Jacobs Basement, Fuel, The Canopi, Tiny Rebel, The New Moon and Porters. Sŵn’s Head of Music said this about the festival with Dork Magazine, “We’re proud to champion new music and give a platform to the amazing artists we collaborate with throughout the year — many of whom will be playing their biggest shows in Wales to date.” This is true for several artists including Brown Horse, who performed their biggest show at MOTH club, London last year.

Brown Horses’ involvement in the festival follows the release of their second album ‘All The Right Weaknesses’, which came out in April this year. Listeners hope that the 70s inspired folk album will feature in their setlist for Sŵn Festival alongside their old track favourites like the 2023 single ‘Willow’. The multifaceted Californian artist Mykki Blanco will similarly broaden their horizons of performance with this highly anticipated festival.

Portals Festival has announced the stage splits for its 2025 edition. The festival will be returning to London this year at EartH, Hackney from April 24 – 25, bringing a powerful lineup of progressive, post-rock and math-rock artists.

The lineup has been split into three separate stages – the Hall, the Theatre, and The Bar. On the official Portals website, they describe the different settings within the Hackney event space: “This stunning venue includes the large Hall space for the biggest artists with state-of-the-art sound and lighting, a breathtaking converted Theatre for expansive and visually striking artists, and the intimate Bar stage for exciting up-and-coming artists.”

The festival announced a second wave of acts in November, including the likes of French math-rock group Totorro and Chinese post-punkers Fazi, already joining experimental rockers such as Brontide, Mouse On The Keys and Cats and Cats and Cats. Now, they have confirmed their two headliners – with Missouri group FOXING joining for the Saturday, and alt-rock fusion artist Julie Christmas taking the top slot on Sunday, in an exclusive UK performance.

Upon sharing the stage splits, the festival reminded concert goers to remember that “the Hall never clashes with either of the other stages.” – so only the Theatre and the Bar stages will be running at the same time.

The festival started out as a one-day event in 2018 at The Dome & Boston Music Room in Tufnell Park, North London. Since then, it has become one of the most significant showcases of post rock, math rock and underground contemporary UK music. Some past performers include Mono, If These Trees Could Talk, Lite, Bossk and ASIWYFA, who will be returning to the stage at this years edition.

In an Insta post, the festival shared their excitement for the return of ASIWYFA, aka As I Watched You From Afar: “We’re over the moon to have one of our all time favourites back again, after their stunning headline performance at our ’23 edition. They will again play a headline length set. You know you want it.

This time they are fresh off their incredible 2024 album ‘Megafauna’ which received glowing reviews and is a triumphant collection of music that draws influences from across the band’s 20 years career.”

The festival also previewed headliner Julie Christmas, her most recent release and her current band on their official website: ‘Ridiculous and Full of Blood’, a heart-on-sleeve chapter-by-chapter storybook of the conflicting elements of her own character, is the most comprehensive declaration of this musician’s talents yet, spanning from alt-pop to post-metal with a staggering array of talent onboard. Guitarist/ vocalist Johannes Persson (Cult of Luna), drummer Chris Enriquez (Spotlights), bassist/ producer Andrew Schneider, guitarist John LaMacchia (Candiria) and keyboardist extraordinaire Tom Tierney were all paramount in bringing these new, genre-smashing tunes to life.

All lineup details, event information and tickets can be found on the Portals Website, here.

The line-up for a unique weekend of music, Portals Festival, has been announced with Northern Irish instrumental rock group, And So I Watch You From Afar, announced as Sunday’s co-headliner.

Taking place in Hackney, London on the 24th & 25th May 2025, ‘Portals’ is a one-of-a-kind festival where no music is too experimental, too eclectic, or too idiosyncratic.

A weekend full of genres including post-rock, prog-rock, math-rock, psych, shoegaze, metal and everything in between… it really is a festival full of diversity and bravery. Check out the official aftermovie from last years event to get a true feel of the festival.

The event will be hosted by EartH in Hackney, the venue holds three stages full of colour and atmosphere. As described in a blog post by echoesanddust.com: “The 1,200 capacity Hall at the bottom; the seated 680 capacity theatre, in all its shabby-chic art deco glory; and the 300 capacity Bar in-between.

“So immerse yourself in the Hall’s powerful sound system, hang out on the roof terrace, recline on the tiered wooden decks of the Theatre, and grab a beer and t-shirt from the Bar.”

The line-up for this year follows on from every previous edition, promising a weekend full of exciting, eclectic and experimental music.

American indie rock band, Foxing, will headline the Saturday with a 2025 London exclusive performance. They will be joined on the opening day by Kalanda, Brontide, Long Distance Calling and many more.

Post-rock band Foxing released their magnum opus in 2015, ‘Dealer‘. The album went on to be ranked at number 2 on AbsolutePunks top albums of 2015. They’ll be sure to bring their mixture of emo, indie-rock, and post-rock to London this summer.

Sunday will be co-headlined by the aforementioned Northern Irish group, And So I Watch You From Afar, as well as Brooklyn born musician Julie Christmas, who will be giving a UK exclusive performance to the festival-goers.

Belfast-based And So I Watch You From Afar are an instrumental rock band known for blending post-rock, progressive-rock, math-rock and more. To date they have released seven albums with their last EP, ‘Megafauna’, coming out last August. The four-piece band will be sure to bring their Irish energy to Hackney in May.

Bands such as Waldo’s Gift, mouse on the keys, TOTORRO and EXXASENS will also be performing on the Sunday in Hackney.

If for some reason you’re still undecided about heading to Hackney towards the end of May, head over to their website here where you’ll be able to find more details including the full line-up, ticket information and details on how to get to and access the venue.

It is worth noting that the majority of the festival is wheelchair accessible, with the EartH Hall and Theatre having lifts and stairclimbers, although the EartH Bar does not have any stair-free access.

Head over to www.portalsrock.com/festival right now to find out more information, where there is also the chance to sign up as a volunteer for the weekend!

As stated on the festivals Instagram: “If you’re coming, now is the time to buy a ticket!!”

You can head to this website to buy tickets to the unique event, https://link.dice.fm/PortalsFest2025.
This year’s first headliners will see Kneecap bring their unapologetically socially-conscious, political lyricism and bodacious melodies to Wales. Riding the wave of success following their recent BAFTA win for their self-titled biopic, the ‘Get Your Brits Out’ performers will no doubt bring a high energy performance during the festival.

Since its debut in 1971, originally known as the Bristol Water Festival, the Harbour Festival has grown into one of the UK’s largest free cultural events. Initially designed to celebrate the preservation of the city’s historic harbour, it has evolved to incorporate live performances, dance, circus acts, street theatre, and award-winning food stalls.

It has become a main attraction for the city and a way to showcase its vibrant arts community. The festival aims to connect with local performers, with last year marking a turning point as over 50% of performers were from underrepresented groups.

It also attracts artists from a wide range of genres, from jazz and folk to contemporary and world music, demonstrated by the diverse headliners at last year’s festival: Bloco B, Laid Blak, and Gabriel Templar.

The Festival will span the floating harbour, stretching from Queen Square to Lloyds Amphitheatre and Millennium Square, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the harbour’s nautical legacy. During the 3 day event, boat tours and water-based sports are expected to take place on the water while family-friendly workshops, food markets, and performances can be enjoyed along the waterfront.

Harry Feigen, Managing Director of Proud Events and a key organiser of the weekend, described the Harbour Festival as a celebration of “the incredible talent, culture, and heritage that make this city so special”.

Alongside its cultural and artistic celebrations, the Harbour Festival has increasingly embraced sustainability in recent years. Organisers are committed to “making Bristol Harbour Festival a greener festival” by encouraging the use of public transport systems to reach the harbour and will install recycling bins and water fountains around the site.

Accessibility is another priority for the festival. With inclusion “at the heart of Bristol Harbour Festival” the event will incorporate accessible toilets into every toilet block, BSL interpreters, and accessible viewing areas. This will ensure everyone can enjoy the wide range of activities and performances featured next year. More information about the festival’s sustainability and accessibility initiatives are available here.

Organisers of the festival plan for the 2025 event to outshine previous years. Councillor Tony Dyer, Leader of Bristol City Council, emphasised the goal of spotlighting local artists to “build on the success and achievements” of the 2024 festival in hope to make next year’s one “even bigger”. Applications are open until 31 January 2025 for performer submissions, with details available on the festival’s website.

The Bristol Harbour Festival remains a cherished tradition, blending the city’s rich maritime history with its dynamic cultural scene. Its expanded program, dedication to sustainability and accessibility, and focus on local talent, ensure the 2025 festival will be a weekend of creativity, community, and celebration for all.
