With the year finally coming to a close the results are in for the top albums in the UK as of 2025. Female artists remained superior in terms of sales in the past year with an array of new music from familiar pop icons, offering something for fans to chew on as they enter the new year. With a list of new releases from familiar faces, the contenders were close however there was one album that reigned highly above the rest.

To no surprise, Taylor Swift’s, ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ dominated the UK charts. The highly anticipated album was 2025’s biggest seller amounting to an eye watering 642,000 chart sales since its October release. In such a short amount of time, the Swifties displayed their dedication to supporting their favourite artist.

‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ is Swift’s 12th studio album and in modernity she is still racking up insane streaming numbers shortly after release, the album continues to remain on the top UK charts as we are verging on the second week of the new year, you are bund to have heard it being played in local supermarkets.

The intriguing figures have been revealed by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), the BPI primarily collects the vast majority of their data from streaming platforms. The BPI are in charge of running the BRIT awards and co own the Official Charts Company.

They stated that streaming accounts for 89% of the overall music market. The list of the top 10 selling albums in the UK of 2025 is as follows:

1. ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ – Taylor Swift

2. ‘Short N’ Sweet’ – Sabrina Carpenter

3. ‘+-=÷x (Tour Collection)’ – Ed Sheeran

4. ‘Time Flies…(1994-2009’ – Oasis

5. ‘50 years: Don’t Stop’ – Fleetwood Mac

6. ‘The Highlights’ – The Weeknd

7. ‘(Whats The Story) Morning Glory?’ – Oasis

8. ‘Mans Best Friend ‘- Sabrina Carpenter

9. ‘You’ll Be Alright Kid (Chapter 1)’ – Alex Warren

10. ‘People Watching’ – Sam fender

Coming in with the second most popular album of 2025, Sabrina Carpenter has had a huge year. Carpenter successfully withheld the spot for having the biggest opening week for an album in the UK by an international artist in 2025. ’Man’s Best Friend’ sold 85,500 units in its initial seven days.

Oasis fans were dusting off their Adidas jackets and breaking out the old records last summer as the 1995 album, ‘(Whats the story) Morning Glory’ rose to the charts almost 30 years since its release. This was no doubt surged on by the announcement of bands incredibly successful reunion tour that touched the hearts of countless Brits. The bands reunion not only dominated charts but made a noteworthy impact on the music industry. The number of streams amassed over the bands discography rose by 30% globally shortly after their reunion announcement.

We are extremely excited to see which artists overtake this top ten spots in 2026, make sure to keep your eye peels for exclusive new music.
