Bring Me The Horizon have made tremendous strides towards cementing a green touring approach. A report by A Greener Festival has confirmed the group’s Post-Human Tour statistics. The quintet is being heralded as one of the first bands to complete a full and non-rescheduled tour directly after the COVID-19 pandemic. The hitmakers are also receiving praise for their contribution towards an eco-friendly change within the UK’s live music industry. A Greener Festival took to Instagram to celebrate the group’s contribution to the reduction of emissions.

Kilimanjaro and Action! Promoter Alan Day has provided a statement concerning the group’s successful tour, “Bring Me The Horizon were the first band in the UK, possibly the world, to complete a full non-rescheduled arena tour after the height of the pandemic. Their vision from the start was to produce the tour as environmentally friendly as possible, whilst still giving the audience the best spectacle achievable. From savings in plastic waste, to transport, to accommodation, to stage production and more, I am proud to have produced such a landmark tour and hopefully an example for the future.”

During the 2021 tour, the band reduced their touring emissions by 38% and cut 27.97 tonnes of CO2e. The British rockers also implemented plans to ban plastic bottles, this meant that a total of 3,322 plastic bottles weren’t used. According to the report published by the non-profit organisation, the band’s dedication to an eco-friendly tour also extended to travel plans. Instead of using traditional trucking fuel, the Sheffield formed group opted to use HVO Renewable Diesel. The fossil-free source is one of the cleanest fuels available and is a safer renewable diesel which has proven to eliminate 90% of CO2 and also aids to reduce nitrogen oxide and carbon monoxide emissions. A Greener Festival also took to Twitter to confirm the group’s impressive percentage of reduced emissions.

Along with the band’s contribution, changes and assistance were also supplied by Raw Power Management, United Talent Agency and promotion company Kilimanjaro and London’s The O2. The three companies and live venue all shared the occurred costs associated with a tour impact audit and sustainability implementation advice. A spokesman from Raw Power Management, Matt Ash has given the following comment concerning the tour, “Working with an artist in BMTH and a tour production team that was fully behind the approach to sustainable touring was something that we absolutely endorsed and are keen to implement on all future touring whenever possible.”

Claire O’Neill, CEO of A Greener Festival has also given the following statement concerning the actions taken to include sustainability and eco-friendly changes within the live music and event industry, “During the pandemic, the touring music industry came together on the important topic of sustainability. We’re so happy with the results from walking the talk with the first UK arena tour off the mark. The report shows a direct link between well-being, stress, and environmental sustainability. Culture change and industry restructuring is essential to achieve a green future for artist touring. There is much still to be done, but these results are undeniable evidence that we can take huge strides to reduce emissions and protect ecosystems immediately. There’s no excuse to delay.”

The boyband’s cover of the Christmas hit has coincided with this year’s festive period. Meaning, the group’s new release may be in the running for this year’s Christmas number one. Scoring a festive hit would be a triumphant return for the group who have reunited after a seven-year hiatus.

The band disbanded in 2014 and consists of members Max George, Tom Parker, Nathan Sykes, Jay McGuiness and Sive Kaneswaran. The group formed through a series of auditions which saw over 1,000 singers participate. The process took over nine months to cement the group and the winning members were signed to Geffen Records. Their debut album, The Wanted, was released on 22nd October 2010 and included their first number-one single “All Time Low”. Last year marked the group’s tenth anniversary, unfortunately, due to COVID-19 the celebrations were cancelled.

The original track was released on 21st November 1994 by East 17 via the record label London. East 17 were key players within the 90’s boyband movement which preceded the genre’s resurgence within the 00’s, which spawned such groups as The Wanted. The original release of the track became the Christmas number one for 1994 and was the group’s only number-one single. The single competed in a now-famous chart battle with the festive anthem “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by the Queen of Christmas Mariah Carey. Both were neck and neck in competition for the Christmas number-one single of 1994 but “Stay Another Day” won by outselling Carey’s beloved track.

The group’s festive cover has been released ahead of the band’s Greatest Hits album, set to be released on 12th November 2021. The upcoming collection is a compilation of the band’s most loved songs including such hits as “All Time Low”, “I Found You” and the 2012 megahit “Glad You Came”. Along with their back catalogue, the upcoming album also features the new track “Rule The World”. The single was released on 13th October 2021 and saw the band adopt a heavier dance sound. Also included within the upcoming album’s tracklist is the band’s Comic Relief Single “Gold Forever”, released in 2011 the track debuted at number three within the UK charts.

It has been reported that Parker’s health was one of the reasons which led to their reunion. Last Summer, the 33-year-old singer was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour. Since then, Parker has been raising money and awareness, he recently hosted a charity gig for Stand Up to Cancer. This week it was announced that Parker’s condition was improving and was now under control. In a press release, the singer spoke on the good news, “It feels amazing it is quite nice to be able to do something that is not related to treatment, it is like nothing has ever changed.”

The Wanted will be hitting the road later this month with a series of acoustic shows and Q&A sessions. The intimate tour will start on 12th November and will continue through the month with five more gigs, including two album signing dates. In 2022, the group will also be embarking on a 12 date headline tour across the UK.

Ane Brun has released a new music video for “Ta Tak I Me”, a translated version of her previously released single “Take Hold Of Me”.

The 45-year-old singer and musician has released a new music video that documents the translation of the single into Norwegian, the singer’s native language . The new single, “Ta Tak I Me”, is the second track to be released from Brun’s upcoming 2022 album. The album will contain a tracklist of the singer’s vast discography translated into Norwegian. The tracks will serve to create a Norwegian musical, with the basis and story formed from Braun’s songs.

The single was originally released in 2020 and was taken from the singer’s ninth studio album After The Great Storm. The 2020 album was recently nominated for the Hyundai Nordic Music prize at this year’s event. The award ceremony was set up to create unity and awareness throughout the music industry within Nordic regions. Previous winners of the prestigious award include The Knife and Robyn.

Brun provides the following statement concerning the single’s origins, she also describes how the lyrical content has become evidently current due to the COVID pandemic: ”Take Hold of Me” started out with these few lines: My existence is screaming, it’s a physical feeling, of missing out on dance and light, try to describe an existential complex state of mind. An abstract feeling, and something that I’ve felt come and go through the years, that I find myself wanting contradictory things. I want to tour the world, but also at the same time never travel, grow my own vegetables, live in a big house and have a bunch of dogs”

“I think the song sprung out from a kind of mid-life crisis, where I was questioning the direction my life was taking. And in some ways, during covid, these lyrics were emphasised somehow. A feeling that things are on hold, that life is not lived in its’ full potential, and that the bigger questions are so present right there on the surface, it is something that at least I have experienced in this very different time we’ve been going through” she continued.

Born as Ane Kvien Brunvoll, the multi-talented artist’s vocal talents have origins within Sami traditions. The singer has released ten albums since her debut, Spending Time With Morgan, released 25th May 2003. Also included within her discography are three live albums, two compilations, four EP’s and over 30 singles. The singer has achieved three number albums within the Norwegian charts with her second studio album A Temporary Drive, Changing of The Seasons and It All Starts With One. The artist is also known as the founder of the record label, Balloon Ranger Recordings. The label also houses its own publishing company and has headquarters located in Stockholm, Sweden.

The release of Brun’s new music video has coincided with the start of her UK and European tour, After The Great Storm. The tour kickstarted on 5th October 2021 with a performance in Glasgow and consists of 23 more dates across the UK and European cities. Supporting Brun on her 2021 tour is Loney Dear, the tour will mark the Swedish artist’s first UK performance since his 2017 tour.

British hitmakers Kasabian have reportedly recruited their new touring singer. The “Club Foot” performers are said to have hired Rob Harvey to join them on their forthcoming tour.

Previous reports had advised that the group’s guitarist and songwriter Serge Pizzorno was to take up the microphone on their upcoming tour. The group will hit the road this October for their 17 date tour, which will see the band tour for the first time since the departure of former frontman Tom Meighan. A source from the newspaper Daily Mirror has given the following details, “Rob is a good friend of all the Kasabian band members, and they’ve all toured together in the past, and he’s a great frontman so it seems like a no brainer to try him out up front.”

The band’s rumoured new frontman is best known as the singer and founding member of English Alt-Rock band The Music. Harvey formed the group in 2001 and their self-titled debut album was released the following year. The Leeds formed group enjoyed chart success during their decade long career, after four studio albums the band disbanded in 2011. The 38-year-old artist has also penned tracks for various other groups including the 2014 hit “Real Love” for Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne.

Harvey also wrote two songs for The Streets’ fifth studio album Computers and Blues, released on 7th February 2011. Harvey would continue to work with The Streets after his work on the album, Mike Skinner asked Harvey to join the group on the road as their touring guitarist and singer. Harvey and Skinner would also go on to partner on a new project, The D.O.T which saw the pair experiment visually and sonically.

Harvey has reportedly been enlisted to replace the group’s former frontman, Tom Meighan. Meighan sadly had to leave the band after the singer plead guilty to charges stemming from a reported assault. The incident occurred between Meighan and his partner Vikki Ager in July 2020 and the singer was sentenced to 200 hours of unpaid work. The pair have since put the incident behind them confirming that it was a drunken occurrence, the singer has since attended rehab in aid of his alcohol addiction issues. At the time of the incident, Meighan was also diagnosed with Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, Ager has spoken out citing Meighan’s condition and an absence of support as the catalyst for his actions. She has also confirmed that the occurrence was not domestic violence.

Meighan has spoken on the incidence stating that the conflict was due to intoxication, “We had too much to drink. I regret everything that happened that night – what I can remember of it. I don’t condone it – it’s horrific. I love my partner to pieces. I was at a boiling point in my life – I didn’t know where things were heading. I was drowning myself with drink because of my problems and things going on around me. We had a fight and I took the brunt for it. I was fully responsible for what happened but we love each other and we’re getting over it.”

The group’s upcoming tour starts on 13th October with a set at the O2 Academy in Glasgow and finishes on 4th November at O2 Academy Birmingham.

Circa Waves have added two additional new dates to their upcoming August UK tour. The band will now begin the tour at the first newly added date at The 1865 on August 9 in Southampton, with the second additional show at the Liquid Room in Edinburgh on August 15. The tour also features their first gig back at the legendary Brixton Academy in London since the start of the pandemic.

The band’s frontman Kieran Shuddall stated that “We can’t believe we are finally going to be back playing live shows again next month!! Ahead of the excitement we decided to add a couple of intimate shows to our tour! 1865 in Southampton and Liquid Rooms in Edinburgh. These will sell out quickly, so make sure you’re up early to get yours tomorrow!!!”

The band had originally intended to go on tour last year in support of their most recent album ‘Sad Happy’, which was released in March 2020. This was then followed up by the surprise release of their EP ‘Sadder, Happier’ in May.

However, due to the enforced coronavirus shutdown of live music initially forced Circa Waves to postpone their touring plans into 2021. They were made to rearrange the dates for this March but again had to push it back even further this time to August.

With all legal COVID-19 restrictions being lifted in England today (July 19), the band will now go ahead with their August dates and have added new shows in Southampton and Edinburgh.

All the Circa Waves’ UK tour dates are shown below. Tickets for the two new dates will go on sale tomorrow morning (July 20) at 9 am BST, whilst all remaining tickets for the existing shows can be bought here

As well as these intimate shows Doherty previously announced he was set to return with a gig at Camden’s Powerhaus, formerly Dingwalls, on July 3. However, that is now taking place on July 24 due to the original date for the lifting of lockdown restrictions moving.

The singer/songwriters band The Libertines are also set to perform four shows at Kentish Town’s O2 Forum this December as part of their Winter ‘Giddy Up A Ding-Dong’ tour.

The band previously made a statement about these shows earlier this year “The Libertines are pleased as punch to announce a fifteen-date Christmas jaunt across the UK in November and December, including two shows at London’s O2 Forum the scene of the bands legendary shows in December 2003.”

The group are also working on the follow-up to their 2015 album ‘Anthems For Doomed Youth’. The band’s guitarist Carl Barat previously told NME in an interview “It’s been going well, but it’s been difficult with COVID,” Barat explained. “We started writing here, and that was going really well but John [Hassall, bass] is in Denmark and Pete [Doherty] is in France. It’s been a fucker to travel.”

Irish rapper Alexander Anyaegbunam, known by his stage name Rejjie Snow, has announced his UK and Ireland ‘By Myself Tour‘– the tickets went on sale today along with the release of his new album.

Rejjie Snow has built up an impressive reputation as one of Ireland’s most successful rappers. The tickets for his greatly anticipated By Myself Tour, which begins in Brighton on September 25th, went on general sale today at 9am. You can still grab yours on the rapper’s official website.

Kicking off in Brighton, the tour will consist of other stops in Cambridge, Cardiff, Bristol, Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester, London and Leeds. The UK and Ireland tour will then end in Alexander’s hometown – at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre, on October 11th.

The tour could not be more perfectly timed, with the release of Rejjie’s second studio album ‘Baw Baw Black Sheep’ coming out today (Friday July 9th) – the same day as general ticket release for the tour. The album is tied together nicely with beats that transition smoothly between jazz and soul. Before today, fans waited eagerly for the albums release but remained temporarily satisfied with four previous releases – including the populat ‘Cookie Chips’ featuring the late MF DOOM.

‘Baw Baw Black Sheep’ will be a main focus for the tour. Concerning this album, Rejjie has stated that:

“I approached [the album] light heartedly from the point of view of making a short film through music. I always loved Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. I watch it all the time. I thought of Baw Baw Black Sheep like a soundtrack to it. I put the movie on with my album, and they synced up perfectly”.

“I tried to tap into all of these feelings. The music is really colourful, and the lyrics are often happy, because that was my state of mind.”
