U2 have just announced ‘Carnaval De Luz Presents: The Greatest Show On Earth World Tour 2027’ in line with their new single and upcoming album. The Irish rock band released ‘The Greatest Show On Earth’ from their 16th studio album ‘Carnaval De Luz’, which is to come out on the 13th of November. This will be the 3rd single from the 12-track album that we have heard thus far, alongside ‘Street Of Dreams’ and ‘Silencio’. The last track of the album, titled ‘Torn’, will also include a feature from the late Dolly Parton.
According to the official press release, the new song is “a story of lovers fighting to keep faith in each other- and faith itself.” You can watch the music video below, which was shot in the Californian desert, claiming it “satirizes the band as a religious cult where women do all the heavy lifting.”
The international tour will kick off in Latin America with special guest Beck, with additional dates for Europe and North America to be announced soon. As stated in their press release, there are “plans for the band’s all-important return home to Ireland in the works” too. Members of the band, Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry, also commented:
“The Greatest Show on Earth? Now that’s a throwdown. It’s a dare, to ourselves as much as anyone, to try and have the best night of anybody’s life. A bit of showman, a bit of shaman, a riot of colour, unreasonable guitar, bass and drums, and tunes you can hold onto. Because if people are gonna show up, we certainly are.”
Presale tickets will be available for Mexico City dates on the 22nd of October, while general sale will kick off the following day on the 23rd. In addition, general sale for São Paulo and Buenos Aires will begin on the 22nd of October. However, if you are a U2 subscriber, you will gain early access to presale from the 19th.
