English rock band The Wombats have announced a UK & Europe tour for 2027 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their debut album ‘A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation’. Matthew Murphy, Tord Knudsen and Dan Haggis made history in 2007, releasing the 13-track album that put The Wombats on the map.
The European leg will feature special act The Snuts, while UK shows will be accompanied by Cherryholt, Abbie McCarthy and Filip Clements. The first half of the gig will be dedicated to playing ‘A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation’ in its entirety, while the second half of the show will focus on songs from their other albums. The tour will kick off in Paris on the 1st of April and end in their hometown Liverpool on the 18th of April.
The group shared some kind words in their announcement:
“When we realised our debut album would be turning 20 in 2027, we decided it was only fair to throw a bit of a party to celebrate. A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation was a culmination of the first 4 years of life in The Wombats.
We’re going to play the whole album from start to finish and we invite you all to be there. That first album gave us the possibility and platform to go on to make loads more music (with more on the way!), and so we will be playing a selection of tunes from all our other albums, too.
It’s going to be a very special tour!”
