After launching Saturday Night Live UK back in March, the sketch comedy show got renewed for a second season, which started on the 12th of September. SNL UK initially kicked off on the 21st of March, welcoming acts from Wolf Alice, Kasabian, Jorja Smith, Foo Fighters, MEEK, Myles Smith and Holly Humberstone for its first season.
So far, the September musical guests have consisted of CMAT, Royal Blood and Rachel Chinouriri with hosts Jeff Goldblum, Jamie Demetrion and Amelia Dimoldenberg. Just last week, Chinouriri sang her track ‘One song away from crying’ from earlier this summer as well as her hit single ‘Never Need Me’, which can be seen below for those who missed the live performance.
The next show will be hosted by Danny Dyer, with musical act Sasha Keable on the 10th of October, making it the 4th episode of the season. Subsequently, we will see The Streets perform on the 17th of October, hosted by actor James Norton, and Blossoms will take the stage on the 24th, hosted by Wicked star Cynthia Erivo.
British singer-songwriter Sasha Keable just announced yesterday that she will be releasing her new single ‘Options’ on the 1st of October, which was debuted just last week at Ruby Zoe Hotel. While this could potentially be a part of her upcoming performance on SNL, Keable also has an array of tracks dropped this year that could be in the running.
The Streets performed their 2004 album ‘A Grand Don’t Come For Free’ in its entirety during their tour this summer. Following its success, they have announced 3 more shows soon after their SNL performance. They will visit Southend Cliffs Pavilion on the 3rd of November, O2 Academy Birmingham on the 4th and Cardiff Depot on the 6th.
Blossoms new album is also due to be released before their SNL show, on the 2nd of October, ‘Songs From The Wedding Cake’ will drop just in time for their album tour. They have a string of concerts across the UK and Ireland through October and November.
