Former Spice-girl, Melanie C, has just released her new album, ‘Sweat’ today on May 1st. The album includes lots of inspiration from her time in the pop-group, with a refreshing take on the euphoria and joy of her life through the dance and 90’s electronic-pop sound.
The 13-track album was recorded across London, Stockholm and LA to gain the freeing feeling of the dance sound. The ‘Sweat’ release comes after the release of singles starting from January to April, this includes ‘What Could Possibly Go Wrong?’, ‘Undefeated Champion’ and recently ‘Attitude’ and ‘Drum Machine’. Each single teases the club-ready, disco-pop sound that the album entails. After the single-drops, she announced that she will be embarking on a 2026 World Tour that starts in September.
The album brings the groove of club-ready anthems through the exhilarating title track ‘Sweat’ that kicks off the songs, ‘Drum Machine’ following as an all-out club banger that builds the need for a dancefloor. ‘What Could Possibly Go Wrong?’ brings a different attitude, with a more sensual break to the movement of the other tracks, that then follows with ‘Til It Breaks’ and ‘Pressure’ that heighten the dancefloor persuasion. The energy remains at an all time high with ‘Good For Nothing’, ‘Undefeated Champion’, ‘Free To Love’ that bring an emotional side to the artful anthems. The album closes with ‘One Track Mind’ and ‘Flick Of The Wrist’ that keep listeners moving right until the music stops.
