Liam Gallagher, Stormzy and Rage Against The Machine had been set to headline this year. Other artists included in the program were MIGOS, Lewis Capaldi, Sam Fender, Solardo, AJ Tracey, Tom Greenan and many more.

The tickets bought for this summer will remain valid, while refunds will also be available, assures the organisation.

The history of the two festivals goes back to the 1960s. Initially Reading and Leeds festivals were known as rock festivals. Over the years, however, the events became more versatile, attracting fans from many different genres.

Last year’s headliners included Post Malone, The 1975, Twenty One Pilots and Foo Fighters. Other acts included Pale Wave, Billie Eilish, Bastille, Blossoms and The Distillers. Billie Eilish’s live performance can be seen on the JmusiCall  YouTube Channel.

 

YUNGBLUD recently released a new single called ‘Weird!’. Like many other artists, he also addressed the difficult times of social isolation the world is currently living in.

In 2019 the young English artist was awarded with the NME Award for best music video for his song ‘Original Me’, featuring Dan Reynolds. YUNGBLUD was also nominated for Best British Solo Act and Best Solo Act In The World.

Earlier this year YUNGBLUD made a guest appearance in the Live Lounge Allstar performance of Foo Fighters’ ‘Times Like These’. This rendition of the song also included artists such as AJ Tracey, Paloma Faith, Rita Ora and Dua Lipa.

The English band’s last studio album called ‘Desire’ was released in 2017. It debuted at number 21 on the UK Album Chart, selling 3,712 copies in its first week.

‘Desire’ was followed by an acclaimed world tour, starting on October 27 in Novosibirsk, the capital of Siberia. The first part of the tour the band played 29 concerts in different parts of the world, 7 of which took place in Russian cities.

‘Hurts’ were formed in 2009 by singer Theo Hutchcraft and multi-instrumentalist and producer Adam Anderson and that lineup hasn’t changed ever since. In an interview for NMA, Hutchcraft shared:
‘We provide an alternative to the pop music that people listen to on a daily basis. That’s all we want to do – we don’t fit in. It doesn’t have to all be shiny and manufactured. You can make pop music yourself and in your own way.’

“We won’t even have got a vaccine into people by then”, says Dr. Smith, while discussing the fact that events like Reading and Leeds Festival, the Hella Mega Tour, and a multitude of rescheduled tours are still planned to take place. It is known that The Music Venue Trust is supporting smaller venues and the Arts Council of England launched £160 million emergency package.

Dr Smith is confident that people will return to enjoying such collective experiences – as they “appeal to the human nature” – but only after most people in the country have either been infected with the disease (herd immunity), or inoculated through vaccines or a combinations of drugs.

The scientist emphasized that patience is essential in this difficult situation and advised:
“As soon as it is safe to do so, we will be encouraging everyone to visit and experience the UK’s fantastic cultural offerings again.”

Celebrities from all over the world also encourage fans to self-isolate and keep social distance

  So I talked to some doctors and scientists. It’s not the easiest for everyone right now but the kindest/healthiest thing we can do is self-quarantine and not hang out with people over 65 and in large groups. Primordial Radio is a British premium online radio platform specialising in rock and metal music. The station was founded in January 2017 by Hugh Evans, Russ Collington, Peter ‘Pete’ Bailey and Benjamin ‘Mark’ Woodhouse, all formerly of Team Rock.

The single for the album, ‘In It Together’ was released on March 27. It can be heard on the official Earache Records YouTube page.

The band discussed their upcoming album in an interview for Classic Rock Magazine, saying:“House Of Noise is absolutely our best songwriting yet. It feels like 10 years in the making and through being signed with Earache we were able to record it at a dream studio with one of the best engineers, Mr Chris Clancy and for us possibly the best producer in the biz, Mr Collin Richardson.”

The online bidding for the item was opened on May 5 and will be available until  May 12. The price of the item was estimated between £12,000 and £15,000. The page features handwritten, alternative lyrics to the song ‘Most Likely You Go Your Way and I’ll Go Mine’. 

What makes this so valuable is that the notes were handwritten over a typed page with lyrics that have never been recorded. It opens with the complaint ‘Like a rich man’s son/ like a poor fool in his prime/ how come you treat me so cruel’.  These lines end up being adapted for the song ‘Temporary Like Achilles’.

According to Ultimate Classic Rock Magazine, this is not the first time Bob Dylan’s lyrics are sold on auction. Earlier this year, the beloved songwriter’s handwriting for another song was on sale. The lyrics for ‘The Times They Are A-Changin’ were placed in a memorabilia auction with a starting price of $2.2 million.

The words for ‘Subterranean Homesick Blues’ were also offered at $1.6 million and ‘Lay, Lady, Lay’ started at $650,000.

In 2016 Bob Dylan was awarded with Nobel Prize in Literature. The motivation for the prize was  “having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.”

The Amazons upcoming tour starts on June 19 in Festivalpark, Hradec Králové, Czechia. The tour also includes dates in Hever, Bottesford and Leicester, England. Until then, the band can be heard in the ‘Homeschool’ online music festival together with artists like James Smith, Alfie Templeman, Aldrey Nuna, Max Leone and many more.

The festival unites different artists filming lo-fi sets from self-isolation. Held over the three days of the bank holiday weekend (from 8th to 10th May), these performances will be played out across multiple stages showcasing some of the most exciting artists on the planet.

The last album of the band ‘Future Dust’ was released on 24 May 2019 through Fiction Records and Universal Music Group. It can be purchased with official band merch in their official website.

Artists around England are concerned with the potential losses the music industry will suffer if no measures are taken. This topic was explored further by journalist Poppy Platt in an article published in ‘The Guardian’ on March 13. As seen in his official website, Ocean made the following announcement for his upcoming album:
“One World’ is my first original studio album in over 10 years. It’s like a landmark for my 70th birthday! I feel this album reflects my maturity, and the many genres of music I’ve been exposed to – coming from the Caribbean as a little boy influenced by calypso music, to growing up in the East End of London, where music was so wonderfully diverse. I truly feel ‘One World’ has captured all of my musical influences over the years. The album reflects my thoughts, and the way that I feel at 70 years old, but most of all I hope that it will make people stop and think about life and its meaning.”

On April 17 Billy Ocean released a second single called “All Over The World”.

In a recent Instagram update, fans were informed that the Bath Festival, where Billy will perform tracks from his new album, has been postponed for May 29th and 30th, 2021.

This is a performance of his first song release since his last album “Anima”. The album was one of the artist’s most critically acclaimed works. Reviewing the album, NME wrote: “This is an artfully produced fever dream of an album that, in its doominess, suggests we should continue to pay credence to the prophet Thom Yorke.”

In the meantime, Radiohead have been releasing archival footage of gigs across their career. The weekly releases will continue until either the of the current situation is eased or they run out of show footage to release.

The guitar player of the band, Ed O’Brien recently shared that the band were discussing a possible tour in 2021, before the coronavirus situation got serious.

The virus outbreak also affected Thom Yorke’s solo tour as he had to reschedule dates in the US and cancel dates in Mexico.
