He said, “I really truly believe it’s the best record we’ve ever made. I think for a long time we’ve maybe threatened to make a record that’s good but we haven’t quite managed it. It’s heavier in places, but it’s poppier in others, it’s a lot more kind of, I think well rounded like sonically and musically and lyrically. I don’t know I think it’s such a great record.”

Young further said that the band had recorded the album outside El Paso Texas towards the end of 2019, and that they finished recording the album right before the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic but that “listening to it now it really resonates in a different way, it’s weirdly reflective of this year I think. It’s the longest record we’ve ever made – I think it’s like 13 or 14 tracks.”

The band’s repost of the snippet of the interview comes shortly after the preview of their cover song ‘High Horse’ by Kacey Musgrave, which is set to feature on their upcoming EP ‘Karaoke’. For the song, The Vaccines’ stripped back Musgrave’s disco and fuck grooves. In the video for the cover, frontman Justin Young sang along to the track standing in front an Elvis Presley cut-out wearing a white cowboy hat. You can watch the video down below:

The anniversary tour, originally scheduled for April of 2021, was set to feature songs from the band’s first three full-length, studio albums- their 2003 debut ‘Casually Dressed & Deep In Conversation’, 2005’s ‘Hours’ and their third album released in 07′ ‘Tales Don’t Tell Themselves’.

In an instagram post, the band wrote, “It’s with a sense of regret and inevitably that we announce that our headline shows this April and May will not be permitted to take place as scheduled. In light of current restrictions, we have made the decision to reschedule these shows to January next year, with the hope that by then we’ll be in a place where it’s safe to do so.”

The British artist in a social media post, shared a sweet message with the fans thanking them for their well-wishes while announcing a potential album release “later this year”.

The artist wrote, “30 today. Thank you for all your wonderful messages, I feel very loved. Currently dressed the same as I was on my 3rd birthday about to chow down on Colin the pirate caterpillar, poor bloke.” He concluded saying, “I’ll be back online with the 4th instalment in the series later this year, until then.”

The social media post was the biggest hint Sheeran gave about his fourth album, and while there is not much known about it, Sheeran returned to the spotlight in December of 2020 to release a stand-alone single ‘Afterglow’, which marked his first release since his last star-studded album ‘No.6 Collaborations Project’ which featured artist like Justin Bieber, Stormzy, Cardi B, Camila Cabello and more.

Ed Sheeran made history earlier in 2019, when all four of his LPs went to the Number 1 spot in the UK. The IFPI also awarded Sheeran with the ‘Global Recording Artist of 2017′ for ‘Divide’, and he also went on to become the first-artist in the history to music to have had the best-selling album and the best-single single of the year, simultaneously with ‘Divide’ and ‘Shape Of You’. Sheeran’s ‘Divide Tour’ also broke box-office records.

British composer Max Richter announced a sequel to his last album ‘Voices’ which was released in 2020. The sequel album, titled ‘Voices 2′ is set to release later this year, and is reported to be closely connected to its forerunner ‘Voices’ which talked about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Richter also released the first single from the album titled ‘Mirrors’ which is available to stream on all platforms now.

In a statement released to the press, Richter said, “One of the things that was really striking, when we premiered the music, was that even though everyone knows of the Declaration, not many people have actually read it or spent time with it. The overwhelming comment we had from the audience was ‘it’s amazing to hear that text’,”

He said further that if people listened to ‘Voices’ and if they spent time with the text (The Universal Declaration of Human Rights) then with the sequel, they’d spent time really thinking about it, which Richter said would be the “perfect outcome.” The artist also released the first single from the album titled ‘Mirrors’ and shared a music video for the same, which included a clip created by Yulia Mahr, that showed a sequence of flowers in inverted colours. You can watch the music video down below:

Speaking of the music video, Mahr said, “Since the theme of ‘Voices 2’ is the future we wish to write, I chose to concentrate on the topic of re-birth, a new Spring. Hope.” and that “the flowers are all negative versions of themselves – out of the negative can be born a future that is full of beauty and the positive. History is not inevitable.”

The predecessor to ‘Voices 2′, ‘Voices’ was released on the 31st of July, 2020 and featured the voices of over one hundred people reading the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in over 50 languages. Vocals for the album were crowd-sourced from fan submissions from all across the world.

Speaking of the need to create the album, Richter at the time had said to NME, “The opening words of the declaration, drafted in 1948, are ‘All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights’. These inspiring words are a guiding principle for the whole declaration but, looking around at the world we have made in the decades since they were written, it is clear that we have forgotten them,”

“The opening words of the declaration, drafted in 1948, are ‘All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights’. These inspiring words are a guiding principle for the whole declaration but, looking around at the world we have made in the decades since they were written, it is clear that we have forgotten them,” Richter said at the time,“The recent brutal events in the US, leading to the tragic deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, as well as countless other abuses around the world, are proof of that. At such times it is easy to feel hopeless but, just as the problems of our world are of our own making, so the solutions can be.”

Richter said that the album was created keeping in mind the “brutal events in the US, leading to the tragic deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, as well as countless other abuses around the world” but further stated that “just as the problems of our world are of our own making, so the solutions can be.” He concluded saying, “While the past is fixed, the future is yet unwritten, and the declaration sets out an uplifting vision of a better and fairer world that is within our reach if we choose it. ‘VOICES’ is a musical space to reconnect with these inspiring principles and Yulia Mahr’s striking film depicts this inspiration in a beautiful way, while offering a glimpse into her full length film of our project to come.”

‘Voices 2′ is scheduled to release on the 9th of April, 2021 through Decca. You can pre-order the album here.

Stormzy’s UK and Ireland tour dates for the ‘Heavy Is The Head Tour’ have been postponed again as reported by Stereoboard and NME. The artist was originally scheduled to embark on an arena tour supporting his album ‘Heavy Is The Head’ in September of 2020, but had to be postponed to April of 2021, due to the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. The artist was set to perform in Glasgow, Nottingham, Dublin, Manchester, Cardiff, London among other venues.

It has now been confirmed that Stormzy’s rescheduled dates have been pushed back one more time, because of the lockdown in place in the UK (for the next month). New dates for the tour have yet to be informed to the fans. Ticket holders are advised to communicate with their point of purchase for more information, and further details.

Stormzy is confirmed to headline this coming summer’s Reading & Leeds festivals, which will commence on the weekend of the August Bank Holiday, 27-29th of August, 2021. The artist will perform among other chart toppers like Queens Of The Stone Age, Post Malone, Liam Gallagher, Disclosure, Catfish And The Bottlemen.

So far the Reading & Leeds festivals is still set to happen; the festival’s boss Melvin Benn in a statement to NME said that he felt “very positive” about the return of the event.

News of the postponement of ‘Heavy Is The Head Tour’ came shortly after the release of Stormzy’s collaborative single with Ghetts, titled ‘Skengman’, which is featured on Ghetts latest album ‘Conflict of Interest’. Listen to the single down below:
