The ‘Strobe’ producer was slated for Cork’s Live at the Marquee series (June 19) and O2 Academy Brixton on June 26. Deadmau5 is now due to play the Brixton Academy next year on June 10, 2021, before traveling to Cork for June 18. Tickets previously purchased will remain valid for 2021.

As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, Bertie Blossoms closed its doors for business in March. The latest furlough scheme implemented by the Government would see them pay 80% of an employees’ salary. The business, however, decided against the scheme.

Speaking to The Sun, a spokesperson for Ed Sheeran said: “The business, co-owned by Ed Sheeran and Stuart Camp, is not, and will not, be accessing any government scheme of any kind, including furloughing, grants, loans and so on.”

Plus, recent accounts for the restaurant allege that the business owed £1.7 million to creditors.

In December, Ed Sheeran was announced by the Official Charts Company as the UK’s ‘Artist of The Decade’. The ‘Shape Of You’ hitmaker’s list of feats includes a combined run of 12 number one albums and singles from 2010 to 2019 – more than any other artist in the country.

Secondly, Sheeran spent a record 79 weeks in the top spot of both the album and singles charts. ‘Shape Of You’ spent 14 weeks at the top, selling more than 4.5m copies, and was streamed 2.3 billion times via Spotify.

Elsewhere, Cannibal Kids, Dangerboy, Against The Current, and Los Shadows were scheduled for performances at the gig.

So, everything was going swimmingly until the servers crashed, and it forced the video game festival’s postponement. As a result, the event has been rescheduled for May 16. In the beginning, there were 30,000 online. This rose to 100,000 after the first hour. Plus, the target of $5,000 was raised for the CDC charity.

A post was released on the Block By Blockwest website, reading:  “On a lighter note… We reached our VIP donation goal of $5,000. Thank you to all who contributed.”

During his interview on Radio 1 last night, Healy said: “Like everybody else, I’m in the same situation and taking it day by day,” 

The ‘Frail State Of Mind’ frontman added: “I feel really, really lucky to keep being able to do what I do, when so many people can’t. I’m just trying to not take that for granted.”

Healy also talked working in quarantine. He said: “As soon as [lockdown] started to happen, I know that it was a safe, boxed-off area that I could go. I’ve been here ever since.”

“We didn’t have any plans to be making our own music right now, because we were going to be on tour, but we managed to make this place a little Dirty Hit thing.”

He added: “We’ve been self-isolating with a couple of people from the label. We’ve been working on their music and working on our music.”

Healy shared his thoughts on the process behind making new music. To which he said: “It’s been natural, but it’s been productive. It’s a weird time, and I didn’t think this was gonna happen. With such a massive seismic shift, I’m very into narrative and drama, and [I was originally thinking] ‘Is this the last thing for the band? Is this the end of an era?’”

“I do get turned on by all those ideas, but now there’s been a massive reset. It feels like a different world already. If we wanna exist in this world, we’re gonna have to do something else.”

Hannah Summers and Jon Beck, the brains behind the project, debuted the first Oasis night in March, playing back-to-back Oasis songs at London’s Dingwalls. Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, further dates initially set were postponed, but now an April follow-up has been confirmed.

So, for ninety minutes this Friday evening at 7.55 pm, a selection of their best work will be played. This evening, Welch took to her Instagram and posted the clip of her acoustic performance. Backed by an acoustic guitar, it appears Welch is singing in her bathroom. The post was captioned: “Thank you for all your kind words about the song, and for all your support for the Intensive Care Society,”

She adds: “I tried a little at home version for you.”

Welch talked about ‘Light Of Love’, saying: “The song is about the world coming at you so fast and you feel like you won’t survive it, but in actually bearing witness to the world as it is, it’s really the only place you can be of service.”

The ‘Sweet Nothing’ vocalist added: “I found so many ways to numb myself out, to hide from the world, and although waking up from that was painful, it’s never been more important not to look away, to keep an open heart even if it hurts, and to find ways to keep showing up for the people that need you. Even from a distance.”

Recently, the 33-year-old singer shared a ‘collective poem’. The themes of the poem focus on solidarity and support during the quarantine. She drew on the messages of fans for inspiration. Welch reached out to her supporters, asking: “Please write one line you would like to add to a ‘Collective Poem’ and I will try and piece it together,”

She added: “If you are feeling afraid, anxious or isolated I send you so much love. I am feeling the same. But creativity is a small blessing.”

Most recently, Foals released a music video for their single ‘Wash Off’. The ‘Wash Off PSA’ music video depicts someone following the standard medical procedure for hand-washing. The footage is played on loop with the track, while lyrics appear at the foot of the screen.

As well as entertaining their fans, the music video was also a timely update on maintaining hygiene during these difficult times. Check it out via Youtube.

Foals secured their first UK Number One album with ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 2′. The band took to Twitter and Instagram to give thanks to their community of fans.

The image on Twitter of frontman Yannis Philippakis and drummer Jack Bevan was captioned: “The face when you get your first number 1 album!! Thank you so much to everyone who has bought records, came to shows, listened to us over all these years! It means everything to us. Big big love. Xxxxxx”

Via Instagram, Yannis described the number one as “long awaited, long deserved!” 

Speaking about ‘Down To Hell’, guitarist Ben Bruce said: “We all have a rebellious side, and Down to Hell is a big ol’, rebellious rock’n’roll song reminiscent of From Death To Destiny,”

He added: “From the minute the song starts to the very last note the energy doesn’t stop! It’s a headbanger from start to finish and I cannot wait to play this one live!”

Discussing album six, Bruce said: “I think the guitar riffs are the biggest I’ve ever written; I think the lyrics are fucking fantastic; I think the songwriting is the strongest it’s ever been,”

Recently, Asking Alexandria has announced its new UK and European Tour. The dates are set for October, which comes as part of a greater European run. The tour is in further support of ‘Like A House On Fire’.

“We are coming home!” said Ben in a statement, adding: “We have been waiting for so long to announce our UK/Europe tour and we cannot fucking wait to get back to you guys!”  

“We have spent a long time building this stage show to make it the biggest and most exciting show we have ever toured with. So let’s light this world up like a house on fucking fire. We will see you soon!”

As a result of the cancelation, guitarist Serge Pizzorno said: “We are absolutely gutted to not be able to play our beloved hometown this summer. We hope to see you all very soon.”

Fans have been advised to be on the lookout for an email from their ticketing agent. They’ve been further advised to only speak to them if they’ve not been contacted within seven days. To give you a scope of the demand for this headline show in Leicester, tickets sold out in just 44 minutes.

As a result, all 50,000 tickets were purchased. The Twitter account for Kasabian confirmed in less than 45 minutes that the tickets had all gone. The ‘Solstice II’ gig was set to be the band’s only show in the UK for 2020, as announced in an earlier mxdwn article.

Last August, Serge Pizzorno discussed the progress of their seventh album, as well as his own solo work. He said: “If something feels good, then you should follow the art,” he said. “Great zones don’t come from comfort zones. This feels great now, and it’s great that I’ve got the time to do it.”

He added: “Kasabian is a huge machine that we’ve created. There’s a routine and you’re safe in that place, but you need something else to happen. Sometimes there needs to be a storm in the harbour.” 

The Leicester rock band’s last album, ‘For Crying Out Loud’, was released in 2017 to a four-star review in NME by Jordan Bassett. “Kasabian’s fun and easy-to-love sixth album is packed with big tunes and simple pleasures.”
