The premiere of a new single titled Paranoia back in March sparked rumours that a sixth album was well underway, and yesterday fans were given a real treat: a confirmed album release date, title, tracklisting PLUS a preview of the album’s titular song alongside a video – listen here!

What we’ve seen so far of Bad Vibrations‘ album artwork is reminiscent of 2009 album Homesick, perhaps indicating that the band have dropped the somewhat simplistic approach they had adopted for the cover art of Common Courtesy.

A Day To Remember are due to tour the US this summer alongside fellow rockers Blink-182, who are scheduled to release their elusive comeback album on July 1st. Despite a noteworthy lack of festival appearances this summer, UK fans need not fret: a Bad Vibrations tour will almost certainly be on the cards as the release date for the album draws nearer. Additionally, A Day To Remember have two consecutive appearances lined up in the UK next week; the band are billed to perform at BBC Radio 1’s “Rock All Dayer” on Wednesday 8th June and will be co-headlining a set at the Kerrang Awards on Thursday 9th June.

Today the band gave fans an idea of what the new album will comprise of with the premiere of its lead single Bulletproof. Fitting neatly into the alternative pop-rock genre the band carved out for themselves with the release of debut album All Our Kings Are Dead back in 2010, it’s distinctively Young Guns. The track, accompanied by a lyric video, has already received a positive response from fans. Listen below and see what you think!

Quoted by Alternative Press, frontman Gus Wood says of Bulletproof:

We recorded it at House of Loud in New Jersey with the brilliant David Bendeth this February and are really excited with the results. Featuring Chris Kamrada on drums, it’s a big anthemic rock song and we hope you dig it as much as we do.

Only last week Young Guns announced via an Instagram post that drummer Ben Jolliffe had left the band – however softened the blow and quickly quelled any rumours of dissent with the confirmation that their fourth album had been finished and that they would be touring in the near future.

We’ve been quiet for a few months now and in that time we have written and recorded our 4th album. We are ready once again to release new music and head back out on tour. To say we’re excited is an understatement. During this period we underwent some changes in camp YG and so now time has come for us to announce that we have parted ways with our drummer Ben. We have always been friends before band-mates and that will never change – our paths are simply headed in different directions and we agreed on this being the best thing to do for all of us. We wish him all the best. We can’t wait for this new chapter to begin and we are more excited and focussed than we’ve ever been before. We’re back. See you on the road! YG

This shake up had little effect on Young Guns’ three sets around the UK while touring with Slam Dunk this past weekend, which will have undoubtedly given them sufficient warm up for their stint with Vans Warped Tour in the US later this summer. Of Mice & Men recently finished recording their long awaited upcoming fourth album, as confirmed via an Instagram post from frontman Austin Carlile on May 23rd –

The band made headlines several weeks ago when they allowed a terminally ill fan named Cassy to become the first to hear their new album – additionally, Of Mice & Men invited Cassy to their studio and included her in recording sessions, and have revealed that Cassy clapping to the beat will be in the final cut of one of their new tracks. Diagnosed with brain cancer two years ago, Cassy was given six months to live; a touching post on the band’s official Instagram page states:

Today will forever be engraved as a Very Special Day in our hearts. A precious, strong and defiant young lady named Cassy walked into our lives and forever changed them! Cassy was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2014, and then later at the age of only 14 was told this past January that she would possibly only survive another 6 months. The relationship and history between Cassy, @austincarlile and the band @omandm has been a rich one over the years. When they found out that there was a possibility Cassy could miss the release of their new OM&M album, they sprung into action[…]

Yesterday the band made a somewhat brief update on their official Facebook and Twitter pages, containing an image carrying the song’s titled and three simple words:

New song Thursday.

Despite the unceremonious announcement, this has left many long term followers of RHCP abuzz with excitement. This will be the first new release from the band since their 2012-2013 Live EP, released two years ago. The song will be titled Dark Neccessities, and with no confirmed album release date for this year as of yet, this may be enough to tide fans over for the time being.

Speaking to Q Magazine about the new album in March, bassist Flea said: 

We’re heading into a new era and we’re really excited. It’s new and different but without sacrificing the good bits of us. There are some songs we already had, and some new ones too. I can’t wait to play it live.

According to those who attended Red Hot Chili Pepper’s recent benefit concert on Friday in Los Angeles, the band did not debut any new tracks – meaning that any upcoming music is shrouded in mystery.

Red Hot Chili Peppers have been confirmed for Reading & Leeds Festival this August, which may potentially give the band an opportunity to finally debut new material from their elusive eleventh album. Reading & Leeds recently added even more acts to an already impressive list of names on the bill, which you can read here.

2016 is shaping up to be a year of comebacks, with other beloved bands such as Blink-182 and Good Charlotte planning album releases for later this year. Despite this, Red Hot Chili Peppers need not worry about competition; the band have already proven that they can stand the test of time and if their track record is anything to go by, their upcoming album is unlikely to disappoint.

Pierce The Veil’s fourth album Misadventures was originally scheduled for release in early 2015, however was repeatedly pushed back – although the release of the upcoming album’s lead single The Divine Zero last summer helped ease the wait for fans. Last month the band premiered second single Texas Is Forever, as well as finally confirming Misadventures for release on May 13th via Fearless Records.

As the build up for Misadventures begins, Pierce The Veil have announced a tour of the UK and Ireland whilst simultaneously unveiling new song Circles. Stream it here:

This promises to be an eventful year for Pierce The Veil, who will tour the US this summer following the release of Misadventures. Speaking in an interview with Loudwire, frontman Vic Fuentes said of the Misadventures tour:

We’re going to play the entire record back to front on that tour. It was just something we’ve never tried to do before and we wanted to give our fans a once in a lifetime performance that will never happen again. Something unique that we can come out with.

Tickets for the tour will go on general release this Friday 29th April at 10am (via Ticketmaster).

Sadly, previously announced bands Escape The Fate and We Are The Ocean have had to pull out of the festival, however in light of today’s wave of confirmed acts it seems that 2016’s Camden Rocks is building up to be bigger and better than ever before.

Camden Rocks 2016 takes place on June 4th, with tickets priced at just £35 each. The festival has a history of selling out, so you better act fast!

The 1975 rose to fame upon the release of 2013 summer anthem Chocolate, and have enjoyed commercial success with their self titled debut album The 1975 going on to top the charts – and their latest offering I Like It When You Are Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It, released February 26th, followed suit in rapidly hitting the number one album spot in both the UK, as well as the US Billboard Chart.

A Change of Heart is the fourth single released from the album, following previous singles Love Me, UGH! and The Sound, all of which were released in the build up for the album. The 1975 have had a very busy 2015 thus far – the band are currently on the US leg of their tour after touring the UK and Europe – and plenty more is set to come, with nine festival appearances scheduled for The 1975 across this summer including Reading & Leeds festival. Tributes have already flooded in for the illustrious singer, who found widespread fame with timeless hits such as Purple Rain, When Doves Cry and Kiss. After selling over 100 million records across the world, Prince remains to be one of the best selling artists of all time. His death has come as a shock to the world, with the singer previously appearing to be in good health – having only finished his Hit And Run tour last year and released two albums in late 2015, titled HITnRUN Phase One and HITnRUN Phase Two.

Madonna, Mariah Carey, Boy George and President Barack Obama are among those to have paid tribute to the iconic 80s star whose career had spanned over 40 years, well known for his inimitable style and provocative lyrics.

Details of Prince’s death are still unclear, however it has been reported that he was discovered in an elevator at his home of Paisley Park estate in Minnesota. Prince allegedly had been suffering from flu like symptoms and had been forced to make an emergency landing in Illnois last week due to ill health, however appeared at a party the following day and reassured fans, saying “Wait a few days before you waste any prayers”.  This was shortly after what was to be his very last performance on stage, which took place on Thursday 14th April in Atlanta.

As speculation surrounding the singer’s death arises, it’s essential to remember the star as he lived and to celebrate his life by continuing to listen to the music that helped to define a whole generation. Rest in peace, Prince.

After touring the UK with Slipknot in February, Taylor has announced a surprise one-off headline show at London’s KOKO in Camden on 8th May. Quoted by Kerrang, Taylor said of the show:

Everyone’s been asking me when I was going to come back to the UK and do some acoustic stuff – honestly, it’s not because I didn’t want to! So since I’m going to be there doing some stuff in May, I decided we’d make one happen! And I cannot wait!

This will be a rare opportunity to see the iconic vocalist stripped bare, performing acoustically and free of any of the masks he has become acquainted with. Concerns grew amongst fans when Taylor admitted several months ago that he was thinking of taking a step back from Slipknot, however rumours that he planned to leave the band were swiftly quelled by Taylor himself, and firmly laid to rest upon the announcement that Slipknot will be embarking on a joint US tour with Marilyn Manson later this summer.

Tickets for Taylor’s intimate solo gig are sure to sell out fast, so make sure you act fast when they’re released this Friday (April 22nd) – tickets and more information can be found via Livenation or Ticketmaster.

This year’s line up has gone from strength to strength with each announcement (see our article detailing previous line up additions here), with rock legends Rammstein, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden due to headline – and the introduction of the “Lemmy Stage” in memory of the beloved Motorhead star who sadly died earlier this year; Motorhead were set to perform at this year’s Download, however in lieu of replacing the band their slot will be filled with a tribute to Lemmy.

This follows the news that a host of professional wrestling WWE NXT stars will be making an appearance at this year’s festival after Download Festival announced a partnership with WWE, meaning that as well as being treated to a weekend of world class music, Download attendees will be able to watch the biggest names in wrestling in a purpose built ring.

This year’s Download Festival is upping the stakes in terms of line up and entertainment, proving why it is the most popular alternative festival in the UK – and is even making its way across the channel to France for the first time this year, with Download’s French counterpart boasting a similar line up to the UK edition.
