Odds for Oasis to headline the 2014 bash have been cut significantly by national bookmakers after a string of bets were placed for the Manchester band.

Bookmakers Paddy Power have revealed that prior to this week, Oasis were 16/1 to headline next years event, but after a flurry of bets, that has now dropped to 9/1 to headline saturday night on the Pyramid Stage. 2014 would mark the 20th Anniversary of the bands debut album, Definitely Maybe.

Paddy Power claimed this week “We’ve seen a lot of money being placed on Noel and Liam burying the hatchet, reforming and rocking Glastonbury”.

Liam’s new band, Beady Eye, released their second studio album BE this June to mostly positive reviews. The band is formed of Ex-Oasis members Gem Archer and Andy Bell and have headlined festivals across Europe this summer including Spain’s Benicassim Festival.

Speculation has been mounting for an Oasis reunion tour in 2015 to mark the release of their most successful album (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? which was released in 1995. The album famously won the Best British Album of the Last 30 Years at the 2010 Brit Awards where Liam thanked Ex-Oasis bandmates, before throwing the award into the crowd to thank fans.

Oasis still remain an outsider to headline the Pyramid Stage in 2014 with Foo Fighters currently the favourites at 4/1, according to Paddy Power. David Bowie, Daft Punk and Kasabian are all priced at 8/1 with Oasis and Elbow out at 9’s.

However, Canadian rockers Arcade Fire are yet to be priced by Paddy Power but with a new album out on October 29th, a headline slot at Glastonbury can’t be too far away.

The former Razorlight frontman’s debut solo record Borrell 1 notches up sales of 594 copies in it’s first week, failing to place in the Official UK Album Charts.

After receiving moderate reviews from critics in the album’s release week (July 22), the new record from the Golden Touch singer failed to make an impact to music fans nationwide. His solo punt is now off to a less favourable start, Borrell 1 might be one for Johnny to forget already.

This news follows Borrell’s announcement earlier this week in an interview with NME that Razorlight’s record label “refused to release their final album.” After altering the line up once again, the record label wouldn’t release any new material. He later claimed “Unless I played them a Golden Touch or America they wouldn’t let me make a record.” The former frontman revealed that there may come a time where the band reconvene to record new material but will be “somewhere in the future.” Razorlight are currently on hiatus.

Borrell recorded his debut solo album Borrell 1, with French band Zazou who he has been playing and touring with for several months. The album includes the single Pan European Super Model (Oh Gina!) also featuring tracks Erotic Letter and Ladder To Your Bed.

Borrell 1 is out now on Universal Music.

This is the second snippet of sound from Cassavetes solo launch, featuring the vocal talents of some famous friends. EP title track Faded features rock couple Dev Hynes, former Lightspeed Champion man turned producer and Friends frontwoman Samantha Urbani.

George Cassavetes takes inspiration from a breakdown in his last relationship, claiming in an recent interview with Dazed Digital “It took the decay of one relationship to start writing Faded and then the energy of love in its youth to finish it”. Furthering Cassavetes inspiration is the classic songwriting branched across musical decades by the likes of Fleetwood Mac, George Michael, Bruce Hornsby and Spiritualized.

Faded follows the previously released track, Always (video below), which was debuted online in May this year, with both tracks set to feature on the latest EP. The new wave pop project are set for live shows later this year with shows yet to be confirmed.

Faded is a four track release by Stay Bless on 37 Adventures which is out now.

The Cribs frontman, Ryan Jarman, made a plea to fans through the band’s Facebook page yesterday evening (July 23).

Formally from Wakefield, Jarman now resides in New York City working on his latest project, Exclamation Pony. His missing Sunburst Gibson 335 has been part of multiple tours for The Cribs and has “A lot of sentimental value”. The guitar was stolen in Brooklyn, New York by Jarman’s former roommate and has already been sold on.

The band posted a further image yesterday evening displaying the black Gibson hardcase the guitar was last seen in, with “The Cribs” sprayed onto the rear of the case in red. A reward will be issued for any information leading to the return of the guitar along with their “eternal gratitude”.

The band of brothers are set to take some time out following their string of shows in the UK this august. The Cribs released Payola on March 11 this year, a best of collection from the band’s 5 album catalogue. You can catch The Cribs this August across the UK and at Y Not Festival, where the band are set to headline the Saturday night (August 3).

The full post from the band:

“Ryan’s sunburst Gibson 335, a guitar he has toured with extensively for the last few years, has been stolen in New York by his former roommate. It was stolen in the Williamsburg, Brooklyn area and has already been sold, however it’s whereabouts are unknown. Please please could you keep an eye out for it, it could be in any pawn shop/music store in the area and may be in a very distinctive Gibson hardcase with ‘The Cribs’ sprayed on it in red. The serial number is: 81051048. It has a black pickguard that had some stickers on it as seen on the pic, however these may have been removed. Any person giving ANY information leading to it’s return would receive our eternal gratitude and some other kind of reward as the guitar has a lot of sentimental value and we are gutted that it has been stolen. Please help!”

The young rockers have already become notorious for their live shows and covers packed set lists. The full track listing for the band’s debut studio album has yet to be announced.

The group, from Cavan, Ireland, have been tipped by many of our nations’ most loved pop and rock royalty, including Elton John. The Rocket Man singer claimed earlier this year that the teenage band are ‘a breath of fresh air’.

After playing their biggest festival show to date on The John Peel stage at this year’s Glastonbury festival, the Irish teens are embarking on a tour with the Arctic Monkeys this October and November.

After announcing they are working with esteemed producer Chris Thomas, who has worked with the likes of The Beatles, Pink Floyd and The Sex Pistols, expectations could not be higher.

The Irish four-piece released their debut single Blue Collar Jane this March to critical acclaim, which was supported by a number of Radio 1 DJs.

The Strypes debut album Snapshot is out this September.
