The North Londoners have returned for what will be their fifth studio album in four years and have yet again taken a completely new and exciting departure from their last albums.

New song Carry Me shows Bombay Bicycle Club’s sound with much more of a dance, hands in the air attitude to it. BBC have not been scared to delve into new musical endeavors in the past and have yet again managed to create that classic indie anthem whilst still keeping the sounds fresh and current.

The video itself is also new and intriguing as the viewer gets to play director and control the band members and dancers actions throughout. The video tries to reflect the new albums’ artwork paying homage to 19th Century photography Eadweard Muybridge, known for his pioneering work with stop-motion photography.

Frontman Jack Steadman produced the album from the bands studio in London giving the album that intimate and authentic feel. Jack did however write a number of the songs whilst traveling countries such as India, Turkey and Holland and believes that many of the cultural aspects of these countries can be heard on the new album.

The band have been rewarded and nominated for a host of awards over the years and can expect the same again, if Carry Me is anything to go by. Check out the song and exciting new video on the bands website, link posted below. The track is available to download now with the album due out February next year.

Texan dance maestro Botany has released new track ‘Simple Creatures’ ahead of the release of his new album ‘Lava Diviner (True story)’

Botany real name Spencer Stephenson has hinted at just how big an eruption his next album could be with this new track. The atmospheric sound to this song helps give the listener a true understanding of the emotion that went into the creation of this song and the journey that was taken to get there.

On the new album Botany said “On Lava Diviner, I wanted to conjure that same headspace that artists like Roger Dean, and even Zdzislaw Beksinski project in their iconic paintings,”

“I tried to evoke those grand, colourful, surreal landscapes that are mind-bending yet oddly comforting – sci-fi and epic and holy, all at the same time.”

Stephenson has loosely tried to create a concept album based around the idea of a religious sect praying for a volcano to erupt, he has done this only through the use of the emotional tone that this theme may evoke, which in itself is an incredible feat.

Check out ‘Simple Creatures’ below.

https://soundcloud.com/western_vinyl/botany-simple-creatures

Lava Diviner (Truestory) tracklist:

1. Comm

2. Anchor

3. Owa

4. Per-Eon

5. Simple Creatures (featuring RYAT)

6. Cant / Goosemother

7. Quatic

8. Small Keys

9. Lava Diviner

10. Celeste

11. Sunna / Show Me

12. Birdlife

The band was born out of the ashes of the critically acclaimed ‘Crushing Blows’ and deliver music that spans genres and musical spectrums, that will leave you excited for more. The sound contains elements of modern indie mixed with synthetic dream pop and elements of dark guitar based instrumentals, looped over drum machines. It’s hard to pin the boys to one particular genre as both songs skip back and forth between continuously changing moods.

Ghost Twins, who are Chris Jones and Andrew Foster, have been receiving high critical acclaim ahead of their new album release in early 2014 and fans and new listeners alike should expect big things when their unique sound hits airwaves. The duo also have previous with their old band Crushing Blows earning support from the likes of Huw Stevens, Steve Lamacq and more and were regulars on the festival circuit.

The 35 year old three times Brit winner has become the final addition to this year’s talent show, by joining Kyle Minouge as this new judges on the upcoming series.

Wilson and Minouge will be replacing Jesse J and The Script frontman Danny O’Donoghue, who left earlier this year. The Kaiser Chiefs have been around for nearly 15 years now and have been chart toppers for many of them, so Ricky has plenty of experience and knowledge in what it takes to be a great frontman and performer, being well known for his energetic live shows.

The Kaiser Chief tweeted Kylie Minouge saying “I’m sat with my bags on the doorstep. What time you picking me up?” He also added “Who doesn’t want to spend their Saturday night with Kylie Minogue?”, and “I spent last winter yelling at The Voice, and both Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am were total superstars”.

Ricky appears excited about the chance to be a talent show judge but Kaiser Chief fans don’t have to worry as the lad from Leeds isn’t going anywhere, “I’m just lucky the Kaiser Chiefs have rubber stamped my temporary loan!”.

Catch Ricky when the talent show returns next year.

The Leeds Prog-Punk boys have caused quite the uproar with the release of their controversial, stomach turning new single Nerve Endings.

The videos aims to capture the nerves and anxiety to go with the lyrics of the song, and how did the Eagulls lads decide to do this? By filming the slow decay of a pig’s brain in the basement of their house!

The boys got into a fair bit of trouble when the gas man came round to read the meter only to find what he thought was a dark, sinister and quite possibly evil video being made in the basement. Unfortunately the do gooder gas man calls the police leading to the Eagulls front door being kicked in and the house searched. Luckily for punk music nobody was hurt and the lads got off free.

The video really is a gory one with plenty of maggots and brain juice to turn even the strongest of stomachs. I would rate it somewhere between the cannibalistic cook in Queens of the Stone Age’s Sick Sick Sick and the truly disturbing video to Geek Stink Breath by Green Day which feature live dental surgery of teeth being yanked out.

Video aside it’s a great song by the lads and the band are well worth checking out. It leaves plenty of promise for their upcoming album full of heavily distorted guitar riffs and proper UK punk vocals. Catch Eagulls graphic video below.

Pete Doherty and the Babyshamble boys have returned to our ears after an absence of six years. New album Sequel To The Prequel was released yesterday and features a host of top notch songs showing off Pete’s undeniable talent for song writing and unlike albums of the past delivers songs packed full of optimism, with one running theme across the album being Pete’s desire to hold his head high.

The talent of the babyshambles and Pete’s former band the Libertines have often been somewhat overlooked due to the front man’s various high profiles run-ins with the law, and his constant battle with drug abuse. The singer however has yet again delivered the goods on their latest record with a number of songs sure to please fans and critics alike.

Songs Farmers Daughter and Nothing Comes to Nothing are stand out numbers of the album both showing the 34 year olds still got his creative spark, and theres even a song about visiting the zoo. The boys will be playing a host of songs across the UK this autumn so don’t miss your chance to see one of the most controversial and talented frontmen in Rock n Roll today.

The band hail from North Carolina and have had numerous hit songs spanning across four decades and show no signs of slowing down yet. The song is based around the idea of people bonding over their love of music. The video directed by Phil Morrison features family, friends and fans of Superchunk holding vinyl album covers to records that have had a profound impact on their lives.

Time goes on but Superchunk still sound like Superchunk with their catchy pop punk anthems leaving audiences more than satisfied. Their new album ironically titled I Hate Music is out now and will lead fans back to simpler days when music was just four friends and a few guitars playing music they love to play.

The boys from Kent signed a deal with record label Amida/Century Media this week with plans to release a new album in 2014 as well as making new song Behind the Pride available free to download.

The Rock quartet feature dominating guitar riffs and angry hard-core punk vocals that will always fill mosh pits and ‘Behind the Pride’ does not falter from that achievement. The band, who are managed by Gallows bassist Stu Gili-Ross, have often been hailed as the new band to watch out for on the UK hardcore scene.

You can check out the brutal animal that is Feed the Rhino across the UK during September and October, or if you are lucky enough to have a ticket to this year’s Reading and Leeds Festival then see them tear up the Lock up stage this weekend.

You can check out the lyric video for Behind The Pride below.
