Greenwood has curated the ‘Late Night Prom’ event which will feature two other of his compositions, ‘Three Miniatures from Water – No. 3′ and ’88 (No. 1)’, as well as works from other composers such as Steve Reich, Biber and Krzysztof Penderecki.

The technically skilled Radiohead guitarist has written a number of film scores for the work of acclaimed director Paul Thomas Anderson. He has scored lauded films such as ‘There Will Be Blood’, ‘The Master’, and most recently ‘Phantom Thread’, for which Greenwood’s score was Oscar nominated.

In other Radiohead news, the band’s second guitarist Ed O’Brien told NME that the Oxford alternative rock pioneers met up in January to discuss their next move. He had this to say, “we’ve got some stuff, possibly, that we were talking about”, about the band’s future material.

O’Brien is set to release his first solo record this October, while Thom Yorke, Radiohead’s frontman, recently premiered a new song entitled ‘Gawpers’ which he debuted while performing in a series of special live shows with Minimalist Dream House.

The music video sees Brown, presumably in reference to the popular Tom Hanks movie ‘Big’, as part of a Zoltar-like fortune telling machine. The mechanical puppet inside the machine is in the shape of the Manchester icon and the video shows it singing along to the song.

Brown himself can also be seen walking along the illuminated Southend seafront promenade in the video, and young British actor Noah Jupe, known for his roles in ‘The Night Manager’, ‘Wonder’ and ‘A Quiet Place’, also features as the protagonist of the short film’s strange narrative.

‘Ripples’ is Brown’s first album since ‘My Way’ which was released exactly a decade ago. In a return to form, Brown’s newest effort reached number 4 on the UK Albums Chart and number 2 on the Scottish Charts.

This is Brown’s first musical effort since the brief reunion of The Stone Roses that occurred in 2016-17. After the release of two singles, ‘All for One’ and ‘Beautiful Thing’, as well as a string of arena shows in the UK, many believed that the Madchester pioneers would release a new album. However, at their last gig which took place in Glasgow on the 24th June 2017, Brown addressed the crowd with the statement, “Don’t be sad that it’s over, be happy that it happened”, leading many to believe that was the band’s final show.

Morrissey is set to release his new covers album ‘Californian Son’ next month. The album contains covers of songs written by artists such as Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and Roy Orbison. It will also see the former Smiths frontman collaborating with the likes of Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day fame and Grizzly Bear’s Ed Droste.

Interpol on the other hand are due to release a new EP entitles ‘A Fine Mess’ in May . Frontman Paul Banks said this to NME about the record, “It’s a good way to interact with fans these days. In hip-hop, they put out mixtapes between records and it’s a good method. We’re engaged and active right now so it’s good to double down and turn the party up a notch.”

The band, masterminded by multi-instrumentalist Kevin Parker, are expected to release their fourth studio album, the follow-up to 2015’s ‘Currents’, in 2019. The dates announced include a massive show in London’s O2 Arena as well as gigs in Blackpool and Dublin.

Although no firm news about their latest album has been released, the band have released a new single entitled ‘Patience’ which can be listened to below.

The band also premiered that track as well as the unreleased ‘Borderline’ last month on SNL. The performance of ‘Borderline’ can be seen below.

Tame Impala are also set to headline Coachella in California this weekend, a first for the band. As well as Coachella, the band will also embark on a US tour as well as appearing at other festivals around the world such as Festival Corona Capital in Mexico, Primavera Sound in Spain and Glastonbury in the UK.

The band will hope to match or better the commercial success of 2015’s ‘Currents’ which got to number 4 on the US Billboard 200 and number 3 in the UK Album Chart. The album did get to number 1 in the band’s native country of Australia.

Any footage of the performance was believed to be lost as the BBC did not keep any tapes of it. However, this surviving footage was found by a collector in Mexico as it turned out a family in Liverpool were filming the show on their 8mm camera. The collector then handed the footage over to missing TV footage specialists Kaleidoscope, based in Birmingham, in order to authenticate the clip.

Kaleidoscope’s Chris Perry had this to say to the BBC, “I think if you’re a Beatles fans, it’s the holy grail. People thought it was gone forever because videotape wasn’t kept in 1966. To find it all these years later was stunning.”

Even though The Beatles featured on ‘Top of the Pops’ numerous times, this clip shows the band’s only live performance on the programme

Dr Dori Howard, a lecturer on The Beatles and Popular Music at Liverpool Hope University, said, “It’s crazy, what are the chances? I would say it’s a really big find.”

The star suffered the fall while recovering from the illness at home. According to a statement posted to his official Facebook page, the fall aggravated injuries from his 2003 ATV accident. Osbourne required surgery  which took place last month, and he is now under doctor’s care at home in LA while he recovers.

In a statement Osbourne said, “I can’t believe I have to reschedule more tour dates. Words cannot express how frustrated, angry and depressed I am not to be able to tour right now. I’m grateful for the love and support I’m getting from my family, my band, friends and fans, it’s really what’s keeping me going. Just know that I am getting better every day…I will fully recover…I will finish my tour…I will be back!”

All the rescheduled shows will take place next year beginning in February with all festival appearances being unfortunately cancelled. Although the dates of the UK and European shows are yet to be announced, Osbourne has revealed the American tour dates which can be seen below in the Facebook post.

The film is set to arrive on screen on June 7th, and it documents Gallagher’s last headline tour following the release of his longly-anticipated solo album ‘As You Were’ which was released in October of 2017. The former Oasis and Beady Eye frontman gave filmmakers unprecedented access to both on and back stage during this comeback tour.

The synopsis describes the film as telling, “the honest and emotional story of how one of the most electrifying rock’n’roll frontmen went from the dizzying heights of his champagne supernova years in Oasis to living on the edge, ostracised and lost in the musical wilderness of booze, notoriety and bitter legal battles. Starting again alone, stripped bare and with nowhere to hide, Liam risks everything to make the greatest comeback of all time. The clip shows Liam before and during a gig in Manchester in December 2017 and his voiceover stating, “I’m not doing this to be more famous, I’m fucking famous enough – you know what I mean. I’m not doing it for the money. I joined a band because I love music. I know how fucking great I am, and I know how shit I am.”

“It’s part of fucking staying alive man; being here, not being a casualty. Not letting the bastards get you down when all the bastards who have been sitting there over the last 10 years ‘Ah, he’s definitely going to be dead now, he’s going to blow his fucking brains out or have a drug overdose’. They’ve got all those press headlines waiting, but I don’t think it’s gonna happen lads. I’m gonna stick it out.”

As well as the new documentary, the controversial frontman is also set to release his second solo album this year, as well as making a festival appearance at Glastonbury.

The tour will stop off in multiple UK cities before moving the band travel to the rest of Europe. The tour dates and ticket information can be seen below in the band’s Facebook post.

Little information about the album has been released except that it will be accompanied with a new podcast entitled ‘Past Is Prologue’.

The band had this to say of the podcast, “Imagine that 14 years after returning to the scene, you’re back in the studio recording a new album to build on your legacy and take your place at the forefront of the genre that YOU created. Imagine that you’re a member… of the Pixies.”

“Every episode will document the band’s new music, from its earliest stages through to completion, giving fans the opportunity to witness the evolution of the tracks.”

“It’s fair to say we wanted to do something pretty big to launch our birthday year, and I guess that’s how / why we’ve landed here… Foals have some incredible history with Concorde 2 and it seemed like an absolute dream to reunite them.”

The gig will come after Foals recently released their fifth studio album ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Part 1′ which peaked at number 2 on the British album charts.

It is the album’s second single after ‘Nobody’ which was released along with the album announcement back in early March. ‘Here Comes The Cowboy’ is set to be the first release on DeMarco’s own independent label, Mac’s Record Label.

Mac had this to say of the new single, “This was the first song I wrote in the sequence of songs that appear on my new record. Most of the rest of the songs were written in November [2018] right before we went on tour in Europe, but this one’s probably from about seven or eight months before that. I left it sitting with only one verse done for a long time, then finished it up while I was writing the rest of the record.”

“The phrase ‘all of our yesterdays’ comes from the play Macbeth. Also I think there’s a Star Trek episode from 1969 with the same title; very cool. I had just seen a documentary about Oasis before writing this song, and I was trying to write a gigantic rock and roll hit with my renewed love for the band. I didn’t really get close to that at all, but I’m happy with the song that came out hahahahaha.”

As well as the release of the single, Mac also announced numerous European dates for his tour in support of the album. His extensive worldwide tour begins this month in Los Angeles, with multiple UK gigs and festival appearances as well as Mac’s own festival ‘Mac Demarco… Will See You Now’ taking place at Dreamland in Margate this summer.
