When fans spotted the ‘Someone You Loved’ singer in the crowd at The O2, Capaldi seemed in high spirits, acknowledging fans with a peace sign and a thumbs up during the event.

Earlier that night, Capaldi was pictured backstage with fellow Scotsman, wrestler Drew McIntyre.

The 28-year-old’s return to the public eye comes days after his pal, and fellow musician, Yungblud (Dominic Harrison) shared an all-important update on Capaldi’s mental health and new music, following his decision to take a break from the industry in 2023.

Yungblud revealed to The Sun: “I have heard his new music, and it sounds great. He is getting his mental health right. I love him, as me and him have been on this ride together. We experienced it at the same time, and he is perhaps the only friend who knows what I am going through, in the same way I know what he’s going through”.

Capaldi took a step back from the industry in June 2023, after his vocal tics (a symptom of Tourettes syndrome) disrupted his headline performance at Glastonbury; which consequently resulted in his hiatus ever since, as the singer wanted to focus on his mental and physical health.

It was revealed that Capaldi took multiple weeks off prior to his Glastonbury set, cancelling shows and other work commitments in the process, due to the Glaswegian needing to rest.

In the X post announcing the cancellations in 2023, the singer wrote: “I need to take these three weeks to be Lewis from Glasgow for a bit, spend some time with my family and friends and do normal life things that are an important part of me feeling better. I hope everyone understands.”

During his performance at Glastonbury, he made multiple comments relating to his vocal complications, even stating: “I feel like I’ll be taking another wee break for the next few weeks, you might not see me for the rest of the year. But when I do come back, and I do see you I hope you’re up for watching.”

Yungblud’s enthusiasm on Capaldi’s sonic return, along with the ‘Before You Go’ singer’s recent appearance at WWE Smackdown hold prominence in the return of Lewis Capaldi into the industry in the foreseeable future.

In an Instagram post announcing her upcoming album, CMAT delved into the prominent themes exhibited throughout the record, she shared: “The title, ‘EURO-COUNTRY’ is essentially dealing with the big 3 points I wanted to make with this record.

“1. EURO-COUNTRY is the genre of music I make.

2. EURO-COUNTRY is the type of loss, pain and lack of community that I feel we are suffering from under modern capital isolation.

3. EURO-COUNTRY is, of course, Ireland. The love of my life, the most toxic boyfriend I’ve ever had.”

‘Euro-Country’ will be released August 29, but for fans unable to wait until then, CMAT has dropped the LP’s first single ‘Running/Planning’, a powerful track which gives listeners a taste of what’s to come.

Speaking about the single, CMAT said: “’Running/Planning’ is about having to chase your own tail to be good enough to exist. It’s an abstracted view of societal pressure on women – specifically through a relationship lens: You start dating someone, you get engaged, you get married. You have kids etc etc… everything has to follow this linear pattern. (That’s the reason for the repetitive chorus!)

“And the minute you don’t follow that path, your mam starts giving out to you. That narrow path that everyone is supposed to be on… the minute you get outside of that, it gets stressful. And I don’t know anyone who is like, ‘Yeah, love this!”

The Irish songstress continued her announcement revealing she will be touring her upcoming album after its release across the UK and Europe. The ‘It’s the EURO-COUNTRY Tour!’ will commence at the beginning of October in London before making numerous stops across the country, in Manchester, Glasgow, Nottingham, Brighton and many more. Tickets for the tour will go on sale Friday 4 April at 10am, however, fans who pre-order the new album by 5pm BST on April 1 will get exclusive access to tickets with a pre-sale code. ‘T-Shirt Nothing Else’ exhibits Money’s introspectiveness, blending sonic components of both R&B and indie-pop to bring listeners on a coming-of-age journey. Through the five tracks, the musician navigates her artistry in conjunction with the reality and complexities of living, through themes of love, longing and self-discovery.

When revealing one of her favourite lyrics from the project, she pinpointed a line from ‘T-Shirt’, which inspired the EP’s title. The lyric: “T-shirt, nothing else / She holds me from behind”; Money shared: “I really loved the vulnerability of it and the intimacy of that one line. I love having interludes and short little musical sections that just catch your attention. I didn’t really put a huge amount of thought into it. I just love the line, and I was like, ‘That’s what I want it to be’”.

Although, the singer shared that touring with The 1975 brought on some imposter syndrome, that went on to inspire her track ‘Anything’; she went on to reveal that it also influenced her work and kept her motivated.

The ‘Milk & Honey’ singer joined Matty Healy and co. during their 18-month ‘At Their Very Best’ and ‘Still… At Their Very Best’ tours which celebrated the band’s fifth album ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’. During her time on the tour, Money contributed both guitar and vocals to the shows, most notably singing Phoebe Bridger’s verse in ‘Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America’ and performing ‘About You’’s viral second verse.

Money stated: “So much of that tour had inspired me and motivated me and bled into my music – both consciously and unconsciously. It’s hard to be around a band that good – and I can say that because I have nothing to do with the song they write; I’m a fan as well as play for them – and not be inspired. It gave me a lot of lessons in songwriting, playing these songs and getting really deep into them every night.”

The singer will once again join The 1975 during their headline slot on the Pyramid Stage at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, revealing the opportunity as a “dream come true” and a “bucket list gig”.

In all the excitement surrounding her latest EP ‘T-Shirt Nothing Else’, Money shared she’s already working on her debut album, citing Haim, Dijon, MUNA, The Japanese House and Beabadoobee as “huge references”.

Forming Paris Angels in 1990, Wagstaff became a renowned figure within Manchester’s music scene through his sonic characterisation of amalgamating both indie-rock guitar music with components of the acid house scene. These soundscapes were particularly evident in singles ‘Perfume’ and ‘Scope’, which successfully married the funky side of indie music with traditional dance music.  This time now known as the ‘Madchester’ era would solidify the guitarist’s legacy in music, even granting him a place in Shaun Ryder and Bez’s band Black Grape in 1993, playing on their debut ‘It’s Great When You’re Straight… Yeah’ (1995) and ‘Stupid Stupid Stupid’ (1997), before their disbandment in 1998.

Wagstaff would join forces with the pair again during a revised version of Happy Mondays in 1999, replacing their former-guitarist Mark Day. This reunion would see the band release comeback single ‘The Boys Are Back In Town’, which peaked at Number 24 on the UK Singles Chart, and provide support for Oasis during their 2000 tour.

As of yet, the circumstances surrounding the legendary guitarist’s death have not been revealed. Although it was known that Wagstaff was working on a new project with his long-term partner and Royal Shakespeare Company actor Tamara Smith.

The tributes surrounding the passing of Paul Wagstaff, the remarkable guitarist, have shed a light on his sonic and personal legacy as a forever-iconic figure of Manchester’s music scene.

The newest single, follows October 2024 track ‘CHURCH’ and second single ‘BETTER’. ‘HURRICANE’ clocks in at just under four minutes, its tranquil opening mixed with Låplsey’s captivating, yet soft vocals create a profound tenderness as the singer delves into the omnipotent nature of love. As the track descends to its end, it’s burst of energy with vibrant instrumentation is a tasteful juxtaposition to its angelic opening, continuing to portray the multi-faceted nature of Fletcher during this album as ‘a hurricane’ and ‘a woman in love’.

Anticipating the release of the single, Låplsey posted a handwritten note on her Instagram which read: “A week today, HURRICANE lands on your shores. An omnipotent, unbridled love. To celebrate the single, the ‘Station’ performer announced her highly anticipated tour for autumn this year. The singer will take the stage in multiple cities across the UK, including a show at Manchester’s iconic Gorilla and London’s Islington Assembly Hall. Tickets are available for purchase here.

As Låpsley shifts from dance-electronic music to alternative indie within her latest releases, fans await excitedly for the performer’s upcoming album ‘I’M A HURRICANCE, I’M A WOMAN IN LOVE’ and highly anticipated UK tour, to see the singer exhibit a new dimension of her artistry.

According to the 27-year-old, the new track marks  “a goodbye to the past” and a “ ‘hello’ to the future” but through components that are more sonically ambitious and inspired by his roots in rock music; after revealing it was the first genre he was ever exposed to and which helped him “find an identity as a human being”.

Tickets for the show were available via DICE but sold out almost immediately, due to the very high demand for the limited capacity, exclusive show. However, fans who were unable to get a ticket can join a waiting list for a chance to get their hands on a ticket.

The iconic Somerset five-day festival will welcome the likes of Olivia Rodrigo, RAYE, Loyle Carner, Biffy Clyro and more onto their stages this year. Although many artists on the lineup remained unscathed, one act definitely didn’t: Friday night headliners and Alt-Indie group, The 1975.

Beginning her online rant, the ‘Liquorice’ artist shared: “In what world are the 1975 billed higher than Franz Ferdinand & The Libertines in England?”

Banks’ attention to the 1975’s headline slot comes at no surprise given a heated exchange between Banks and 1975 frontman, Matty Healy back in December of last year. The singer made comments on Charli xcx (1975 drummer, George Daniel’s fiancé) and Gabbriette (Matty’s fiancé) which saw the 1975 frontman run to their defence; “allegedly making violent threats and derogatory comments about Banks and her physical appearance” in retaliation. The online spat caused Healy to deactivate his X account and subsequently caused Banks to result to legal action against the ‘Somebody Else’ singer.

In a separate post, Banks reiterated her dislike for Healy, stating: “Matty Healy is really just SO F***ING UGLY and that band as a unit has zero aesthetic.”

The ‘Luxury’ singer continued with her thoughts: “In what would is charli xcx billed higher than the Deftones?? Billed higher than Pink Pantheress? In the UK????”

In her rant Banks provided suggestions with some acts that would’ve been in her personal lineup. The 33-year-old put a case forward for the following acts: Skunk Anansie, Central Cee (following the success of his debut LP), Shygirl, Basement Jaxx, Dido and MIKA. She even expressed some bewilderment towards Rod Stewart’s legend slot, expressing her desire for a (very unlikely) Smiths reunion with Morrissey and Johnny Marr.

Concluding: “Glastonbury is kinda cooked,” it seems Glastonbury have some making up to do with Banks especially within their second instalment of acts set to be announced soon.

The move has already proven to be quite controversial; many have argued its existence is a mere attempt at appeasing noise complaints from local residents which will consequently rid the city of its vibrance.

The proposed ‘quiet nights’ would affect many popular night out destinations, including the West End, Soho, Hyde Park, Oxford Street and the Strand. With local residents and night-life-goers expected to comply to the quietening down of the city from 6pm to 6am.

Nightlife in the UK has witnessed an unprecedented crisis, exacerbated by 2020’s lockdown, facing little recovery since. In the Night Time Industries Association’s (NTIA) report last October, the organisation revealed the country’s nightlife feared going ‘extinct’ after continued decline in the late-night sector; revealing a shocking statistic of 10 venue shutdowns a month, with two venues permanently closing their doors weekly.

Music Venue Trust have also voiced the ongoing crisis facing grassroots venues, even establishing Kate Nash as a patron following her advocacy for government action to save venues. London is not the only city to consider the effects of nightlife on local residents. Leeds venues Home and Carousel unveiled their plans in January to give club-goers lollipops for their journey home to “keep them quiet” in residential areas surrounding the city centre.

In support of the upcoming nightlife proposal, Westminster Councillor Geoff Barraclough has said: “Westminster After Dark aims to balance the needs of a thriving evening and nighttime offer with the wellbeing of the residents who call Westminster their home.”

He continued: “This new strategy is our response to the obvious challenges of managing these competing demands. Following extensive engagement, Westminster After Dark explores how we will remain a welcoming, innovative, inclusive, and liveable city with something on offer for everyone.”

In conjunction with the new strategy, 100 additional CCTV cameras are reportedly being set up to improve safety of those visiting the aforementioned locations.

Despite these efforts, business owners in central London have accused the council of only listening to locals, neglecting the area’s wider culture. Afterall Westminster’s evening and night-time sectors contribute over £3.7 billion to the district’s wider economy and supplies over 80,000 jobs.

Changes to London’s nightlife recently saw Jeremy Joseph owner of legacy LGBT+ venue G-A-Y put the establishment up for sale following “a constant uphill battle” to keep the venue open, arguing Soho had “lost its vibrancy”.

As Westminster Council aim to put their ‘Westminster After Dark’ strategy into fruition, it is evident the council needs to address growing concerns of the stability and longevity of London’s struggling nightlife.

This evening (Friday, 14 March), Harrison took to social media to tease the new single and its upcoming release. With a running time of 9 minutes and 6 seconds, fans have suspected this oddly specific track length is another subliminal message from the artist upon his announcement of new music.

The 27-year-old performer first burst onto the scene in 2018 with a five-track self-titled EP and has since established a prominent reputation for his high-energy live performances, emotionally raw and thought-provoking lyrics alongside sonic soundscapes that are reminiscent of post-punk whilst carefully intertwining components of hip hop, pop and alt-rock. With two number 1 albums to his name, ‘weird!’ (2020) and ‘YUNGBLUD’ (2022) respectively, Dom is recognised for his most prominent tracks ‘parents’, ‘The Funeral’ and ‘Lowlife’ alongside his collaborations with Halsey and Travis Barker on ‘11 Minutes’ and ‘I Think I’m Okay’ with Machine Gun Kelly.

‘Hello Heaven, Hello’ currently has no audio teaser available, however, the ‘Cotton Candy’ performer’s announcement post featured a black and white video of an orchestra in the studio, which many can speculate will be a characteristic at the forefront of the new single.

Harrison hinted at the new single during an interview with Kerrang! last August, the singer stated: “The first song is nine minutes long with two guitar solos in it. We’re going big with orchestras. We got to this point and position where we’re like, ‘right, what do we love? We love rock music. How do we push it forward but also adhere to what we f***ing love? Let’s make a record that we love listening to!”

The new single is the first track from Yungblud’s upcoming fourth studio album, which will be a double album and the singer’s first LP since his self-titled 2022 release.

With a new album on the way and the second instalment of Bludfest set to take place at Milton Keynes Bowl in June, 2025 marks a really exciting time for Yungblud fans.

Released in 2020 via Atlantic Records, the track marked the third single of Roan’s critically acclaimed debut LP ‘The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess’. ‘Pink Pony Club’ delves into the protagonist’s experience (potentially Roan’s) of moving from the Midwest to LA and discovering the bodacious and vibrant gay nightlife within the city. The protagonist becomes a dancer for a West Hollywood club, against the wishes or her mother and those in her hometown. The now Number 1 track captivatingly portrays Roan’s fiercely bold persona, one of which has established the singer as a powerful sapphic symbol, promoting both vulnerability and confidence in her queerness and inspiring thousands of listeners alike.

The synth-pop track has achieved heightened attention following Roan placing ‘Pink Pony Club’ at the forefront of her recent musical appearances. The Midwest Princess recently performed the song at the 2025 Grammy Awards, the same ceremony which saw her win Best New Artist.
